For everyone who is wondering why some commanders aren't legendary this is Pauper EDH/pEDH where you can have any uncommon creature as a commander and your 99 is common cards only
YES! I love you guys for playing PDH! Let's go! I hope this becomes a thing. I've introduced the format to my playgroup and everyone is having a blast with it. We all have fun with regular EDH but sometimes it's nice to take a break and play a more grounded format where building a board presence matters and we get to use really cool cards that don't get the light of day anywhere else. Thanks for giving PDH a try!
Such a great vid, I've been building some PDH decks and this was a great resource to find out what cards work in this format! You shoulda seen my face when Aarakocra Sneak and Treasure Cruise came out, taught me PDH has a totally seperate banlist from P, so thank you thank you thank you. More please :)!
Specifically in pauper edh, your commander doesn’t have to be legendary, and basically the rules are that your commander must be any common or uncommon creature, your maindeck must only be commons (any cards ever printed at common, even if they are no longer commons, for example grey merchant of asphodel was originally printed at common but has been upgraded to either uncommon or rare but is still legal in pauper), and iirc the only cards on the pauper banlist are rhystic study (yes that was originally printed at common so within the rules, despite it being a mythic now it would be legal if it wasn’t banned) and mystic remora.
well done guys good game man eathan just built up a wall of elementals to protect him self damm good game guys oh wile i am here Cyaden WHERE DID U GET THAT PLAY MAT LOLOLOLO 🤣🤣🤣
12:22 since cycling is a special action that doesn’t use the stack (like playing a land), are you able to respond to someone cycling a card if it doesn’t cause a triggers ability to be put on the stack?
@@SmoothBrainEDH i was unaware, thanks! That being said, why is cycling able to get around split second? Since it says you cant cast spells or activate abilities, if cycling is an activated ability that functions only when the card is in your hand, why does it work?
This game is a good example of terrible threat assessment. You can just see Ethan gaining momentum throughout the entire game until it’s too late. It was painful to watch.

It's a very gun format, so anyone interested should give it a look. Me and my friends enjoy playing PDH a lot between our regular EDH matches.

Didn’t know un commons could be commanders. That’s pretty cool. I lost in a normal edh game to a pauper araumi deck
It’s called rule 0, baby: ask your playgroup if it’s cool!
the only rules for something being commander is A. Legendary B. Creature doesnt have to be a rare or higher
this isnt typical commander either tbh

@@connorl0204 Technically, has to be an uncommon creature to be a pauper commander. Uncommon in PDH is like legendary in EDH.
stop bullying my boy Sam! Anyway great video!!
Love to see PDH!
Kudos on the play and editing, great into and the gameplay was very clear and snappy.
Glad you enjoyed!
Great vid! Risen Reef is probably my favorite deck, so I’m glad to see it putting work! 💪

I want to say it was GP Memphis a handful of years ago
This is a blast! I love that I only knew like 5% of the cards in play. Very refreshing.
Nice, Pdh!
Great game, pretty interesting what you can do in pauper edh
oh this was a treat to watch!!
Loved that video never thought of that loved it
pEDH posting let’s goo
Fr I should play pauper. I might not be as poor.
Ethan, what a goober, eh?
There's a reason we only bog him 🥂
PEDH is very good, it needs to be pushed more

Cycling is not a special action. Morph is but not cycling.

Also Ethan didn't take any damage. Lol. Guess battlecruiser Magic won't in play today.

So how is this even legal?
What do you mean? It’s pauper
They're playing pauper EDH, any uncommon creature can be your commander and the rest of the 99 can only be commons
Calling the cops as we speak
Never heard of this format. My question is answered by the commenters. Thank you all! I want to build a deck around this format!
Also, I never played pauper. Only EDH and standard.
