Very useful tutorial, especially considering how recently you got your OP-1. You must have done some studying beforehand! Especially appreciate the drum pattern instruction!.
Amazing video, so informative thank you! How do you know which drum is mapped to each key?. For example the kick drum is on F, snare on A, the high hat is in B, Is that documented in the manual? Are all drum packs mapped to the same keys? So if I select a different drum kick drum stays on F?
Amazing video! Silly question. When I'm programing the beats I can't head the hey and whats' that for when I start programing it.. Let's say I hi the jey C (5th) I hear another drum pattern rather than the drum kit I want in order to make the programming
With the old OP-1 a bit harder, as you can really change the velocity...I'd probably add them separately from the rest of the drums and lower the rec gain.
Thank you so much for this excellent tutorial . I really appreciate such videos. Advised book seems to be very interesting , I ll check it soon . Any other useful book that can help to translate beat /pattern/chords you would recommend ? .
Thanks for your feedback...I can't recommend any other books on music theory, as I have not read any more :) The rest of my "education" came from videos.
Does the book discuss the principles behind these iconic beats? I would love to understand the deeper mechanics at play behind the beats so as to hopefully be able to create great ones myself too. Any thoughts on this? Thanks!
The book discusses different principles of drum patterns and then uses these examples to highlight them. If it goes into enough detail, you can check for yourself. Google the books name + free download, check it out and if you like it, buy it and support the writer!

What cool looking OP-1 ! Looks like you got a machine with characters filled with stories to tell.
Thanks! Now this device will be enjoyed by someone else, as it has to make way for the OP-1 field :)
This was the coolest looking OP-1 in all of UA-cam. Hope it’s in a good place now
👌

Thanks Tyler! More tutorials will follow.

Thanks for watching! I certainly am enjoying it. It is a very fun piece of gear
yeah I read that the workflow is a bit less flexible than with the op-z but that drum tool you demoed seems quite powerful
Can you store patterns on each pad and store performance from mixing pattern as a pattern for future use? TNX!
NICE VIDEO! THANK YOU!
Thank you 🙏
Super helpful, subscribed for sure.
Thanks!

Thank you!
Great book tip, thanks man
My pleasure!
Are those stock samples? If you said, I apologize. (edit: I see you answered this in the comments below)
Nice i wonder if it's possible to download the presets patterns to the op1 cause i suck at programing on those sequencers lol
I don't think it's possible, as far as I know. But you'll learn...practice is everything ;)

If you want to preview the drum kit, turn the sequencer off temporarily by pressing the sequencer button again.
This is great !thanks did you ever make ghost notes on the snare?
With the old OP-1 a bit harder, as you can really change the velocity...I'd probably add them separately from the rest of the drums and lower the rec gain.
hi Son ! thx for sharing, very delightful tutorial, short question, how to store these? or can one only safe one by one?
Hey! Each white key can store a pattern...that's it.

Can you do snare rolls?
With workarounds

@@SONWU thanks!!
you awesome!
🙏
how did you switch between join and fill?
Shift + Red
Are you using the default drum kit?
Yup, Awa Beef preset I believe.
mr jackson
I sent my OP-1 back too soon. 😅
oh nooo
What abt the kit 😮💨?
You mean, what drum kit I am using? I think the AWA beef preset that comes with the OP-1.
@@SONWU nice is pend the least time in the drum kits somehow. easy to do I guess
whats wrong with the keys? different colors😮 skin?
Damn! do you store your OP-1 in a tanning bed?
The previous owner did!
