    I just removed all that black plastic crap and had it either painted or replaced. Those ranchhand bumpers look great on the front of the cateye silverado. Also great protection. Need a touchup? Black spray paint. Problem solvd.

    Bought a new/used car that had been touched up with that trim and plastic restorer. Looked great for more than a month, then started running onto my paint when it rained. Extremely hard to remove. Haven't found anything that works 100% at removing yet, that is safe for the paint. BEWARE when using this stuff.

    Sorry to say but on every oil change I just put a little new oil on microfiber and give it a rub down. Doesn't need it every time but it works for me and it's cheap. Once I'm done vacuuming inside and maybe steam cleaning I just wipe down the surfaces with blue shop towels and have no residue on the hands after that

    IMO, Forever Black is a superior product compared to these -- From my experience, both Mothers' and Meguiars' results last a few weeks -- Forever Black lasts a few YEARS! Also,, I've heard you're best off applying these types of products to a cool surface, out of direct sunlight; might also assist with the wind!

    I used mothers back to black on my trucks fender flares last year - took damned near the whole bottle, and it faded after about a month. So need somethin better. Seriously considering painting them black and be done with it.

      Others to try that last longer are GTechniq C4, Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant and CQuartz Dlux.
      I tried Dlux but it left streaks. It wouldn't even out. I think I used too much. All of these trim restorers have to be applied THIN.

      From what I've read, it works on rubber too but all excess should be buffed off to avoid C4 from cracking over time.

      I try to let the videos speak for themselves but according to my test and in my opinion, the Mothers and Meguiars are exactly the same for looks and durability with the Meguiars Aerosol having the same look and much longer durability but must be taped off or it will get everywhere.

      I never had a flaking problem. It lasted about 6 weeks before needing to be reapplied.
      I can see it being a pita to remove. I would just let it fade.
      The only other problem with it is having to tape off everything. I don't know if it's worth it.

    Why would I want to go to all the trouble of masking so I can use an aerosol when I can just rub on the other two?

    • @RiffMusic1970
      @RiffMusic1970  6 років тому +1

      Robert R. Beauchamp
      The only advantage I can see is the Aerosol has much better durability. Like, 8 months vs 4 weeks difference.
