Found War of the Ring, Battle for Middle Earth 1, 2, and The Rise of the Witch King expansion at my parents house from when I was a kid.. Bought an external CD drive for my laptop and after many many errors, I am finally able to play all of them. Appreciate the video

Super helpful! Really works! Only thing I had to modify was when I was pasting the details in the options file, it was being copied horizontally on one single line. I couldn't get the program up and running until I changed it to actually look like how you had it in your video.

You just download it from the internet. EA doesn’t have the rights to game license anyways so there’s nothing they can do and you aren’t breaking any laws.

Thanks for the video, it helped a lot. Just one tip, I notice that if I set the relution as the one of my screen the game looks stretched, so I reccomend to set it as 1024 x 768 (the highest supported by the game), and so your screen as you're playing the game
Thanks for the heads up, also if you update the game to one of the patch notes it does fix the screen stretch and support a higher resolution.

Np I can try but i dont have the disc game so ill have to look online to get the disc and work towards it. I was so happy with the first game I never really thought about the other ones. I think it would be the same way its just what contain inside the file is what will be different. Like more graphics options and stuff. But I can look into it tho. :D

Its up to you they change the health and stats of characters. Also they fix that zoom issue. So that would be up to you. So sorry for a super late response my notification doesn't work sometimes so have to manual look at the comments.
Hmm it doesn't seem to work for me. I have the original disc, followed the instructions step by step yet the 'exception_acces_violation' message still pops up when I try to launch the game. I'm lost. It's a shame the game still isn't available on Steam.

Hey man, can you help ? i go to load the game up and then a window comes up saying EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION ? and the only 2 options are (debug break) and (ok) both of these seem to do nothing ?

I followed the vid step by step and now my main menu is just bright pink with no textures. I downloaded off of a disk, not some online copy, so I have no idea what the solution could be now. I know this is an old video but if you can help it'd be very much appreciated :(

what happen was i didnt convert the video to youtube format so that most likly the reason why its harder to see while watching the video on a phone. I was a rookie back in the day when making these youtube videos lol. thanks for the heads up tho.
