@@BlueberryStinkFinger62 the thing is a regular prophecy flying v is around 800$ now, they are exactly the same as this "signature" model except the headstock. A case is less than 200$. There is no reason for this guitar to be that expensive. Dave mustaine's name on the headstock isn't worth 800$

The fact you can get an Epiphone Flying V Prophecy for around 50% of the price seems to have escaped him entirely........but Gibson pricing et all is pretty fucked across the board.

First off... I haven't seen Dave play any of his guitars with Fishman pickups. And that price is just ridiculous... I'd rather get the Prophecy flying V which i don't think would be any different and save a grand in the process. What is Epiphone thinking with this price?
save a grand? non signature Prophecy V is 900.00 and it does not come with a case, this one he's demoing is 1500 and comes with a case and the explorer headstock and is a signature which means more than likely they're only gonna be available for a limited time, like the Faulkner V was. So, I get the price. It'll sell well

For those trippin' over the 1500 USD price tag.. The Kramer DM is basically the same other than the pups. The Kramers come w/ the Seymour Duncan DM Signature Thrash Factor pups. And a hard shell case.. Which surprises me. I really thought the Kramers would come with a soft case or gig bag but nope.. I think i like the looks of the Kramer more. Not a huge fan of the fishman pups, this once comes w Dave's Seymour pups and the Kramer logo on the headstock is written in Megadeth font... and a hardshell case.. for 300 less than the epi. I think the Kramer is the better deal.

Just buy the standard Epiphone Prophecy. Same pickups, better fret inlays and basically the same guitar. But *HALF* the price of this. A case and Dave's name does not justify double the cost. Its £1000 at most imo. Absolutely shocking valuation by Gibson.
i'm seeing this guitar for 1500 here in the states w/ the case and the regular prophecy is 900 that's not half the price. I think this going along the same price points as Metallica's LTD signatures. Pretty much the same price. LTD, Epi both good quality imports.
@@ryant3600 for reference in the UK. The price of these DM models new are between £1300 & £1600. I've seen a new normal prophecy flying v currently on offer for £700. It's basically half price.
And you compare it to the Jerry Cantrell models the DM models are robbery.

The one I’ve been leaning more to lately is the Kramer. It’s got the thinnest neck of the 3 and Jumbo Frets !!! Was jamming on some Tornado, Dread and Holy wars last nite… I’m like damn this is it !!!! The Gibson… love that one and the compound radius (only one of the 3 that has this) but I find the Nitro finish gets sticky on me when u sweating bullets a bit. My only Gibson. Cheers 🍻

Epiphone has guitars for those that don't want to spend in the grand or higher price range, they have less expensive basic guitar.

The point is Epiphone have gone mad with pricing due to artist affiliation, it's no longer aimed at the players its aimed at the collectors or dealers.
I love how people have to justify companies ripping folk off, as that is essentially all they're doing.
But as I've said prior to this if you feel it's great value for money and worth every penny have at it, dont let me put you off.

I really think some people think the Epiphone that exists today is like the ones they paid $500 for.. I hate to break it to you folks it’s just not. The quality since 2015 has been different and far better.. a high end Epiphone usually has Gibson USA pickups these days, the same exact pots , caps and switches too.. I have owned many Epiphone’s and still do, I own Gibson’s and Kramers too so believe me I am qualified to speak on this.. if you want a Gibson you’re looking at at least $2,200 so to say the high end Epiphone that’s only 10% behind the Gibson USA in feel and playability and are only about 5% less in sound quality so imo Epiphone’s are fairly priced! You gotta hold both the Gibson and the Epiphone to understand that these new Epiphone’s aren’t kids guitar’s anymore.. they aren’t cheap crap.. they are damn fine instruments! Especially the new 1959 Epiphone’s , and Kramer Artist models.. but they are dropping 💣 over at Epiphone for all price ranges folks lol.. I mean hell Kramer alone has Strikers at $400! You can get a Baretta, an 84 or a night swan for around $700! Pacers, nite V’s and Assaults that all kick ass and are at the midrange price point.. Epiphone has the Wilshire, and crest wood customs , the new Sheratons and Casinos, the 58 Explorer and flying V’s ! What they are doing is giving people who want a custom shop guitar that they could never own for $7,000 in the form of an Epiphone for $1,300! People should be glad! These guitars play and feel amazing and are a huge step up from what Epiphone was pre 2015! Ever since the 100th anniversary Les Paul released in 2015 their guitars have been upgraded to feel and sound like a true Gibson, and they do! Hey I own a Gibson Les Paul traditional and an SG modern and yet I still bought 2 Epiphone 59’s! It wasn’t because they felt or played inferior lol.. the fact is Epiphone is giving people a guitar closer to their $3,000 guitars for $1,300 and are heading in the right direction.. people bitched when they were cheap shit and now they’re bitching because quality costs more.. well OF COURSE IT DOES!!! I’m sorry but after spending &3 grand for a Les Paul and $2,200 for the SG i can’t really bitch about paying $1,300 lol.. besides the quality of this new Kramer rivals the quality of my Gibson SG! The ebony fretboard looks as good.. the fretwork was the same.. the wood feels just as resonant and has sustain, the only difference is one has a Poly paint job and the other has a Nitro paint job.. hence the price difference.. but most people prefer the poly paint over Nitro with sparkle paint jobs! I will put my Dave Mustaine Kramer in Alien 👽 Tech Green up against the Gibson one that sells for $5,000 now! There’s a guy who owns both on UA-cam who will tell you the same thing.. I just don’t know how people can bitch about that?! Especially with the Black Epiphone custom because that’s a remake of a $7,000 guitar and they absolutely nailed it! If you’re going to play with the big dogs you gotta have the tools.. how can you not love Epiphone for giving you the tools for a fraction of the cost?! Also they look freaking awesome now.. better flame tops, better veneers , 1 piece necks.. long neck tenons.. and don’t even get me started on their acoustic guitars because they’re offering suck killer deal’s for solid wood guitars that any company is offering! Where else can you buy a solid wood J-200 for less than a grand?! The Gibson J-200 is a $6,000 guitar! The Frontier and Excellente were resurrected for less than a grand too.. they have solid wood j-45’s Texans, Hummingbirds 6 and 12 strings! They have arch tops that are layered with 5 layers now instead of the old 3 layers… so their Casino, Sheraton’s, Zephyr’s, along with the inspired by Gibson es 335’s ,339’s , Riviera’s.. I mean they are dropping guitars in every price range for every kind of guitar player.. why can’t people give them props for listening to us and executing on those guitar’s we all want?! Listen folks anything of quality is going to cost a little bit especially in today’s world with inflation! Don’t get mad because Democrats have diluted the US Dollar so much it’s almost worthless now.. Republicans too but when Biden took over everything jumped up $200! That’s just facts.. don’t blame Epiphone lol.. I do prefer the Kramers but I’d love this black Epiphone for sure too!
