How is distillet not reclaim? Kinda seems like the same thing. Here in colorado some shops are charging $100-$120 a gram for Distillet right now. That seems like alot for basically reclaim.
You also need to add in the fact that if you use any sort of crumble, it will essentially get stuck to the hot end, And you are forced to dab however much is on that crumble that stuck to the end or waste it
No he's right that just happened to me last week with my titanium dab straw. I think the model is honey dabber. Anyway, I usually use what Michigan calls live resin which is sort of waxy like a crayon. Very easy to use bc you can dab right into it and only dab what you want. I then got sugar and put it into the same containers. Tried to do the same thing and dipped the heated tip into the sugar and a whole ass *chunk* flew up and all got vaped way faster than I could stop it. I took wayyyy too big a hit so now I pour a chunk of sugar onto the cap of the silicone container and use a dabber to cut it into a tiny trail almost like a line of coke (so I've been told) and just dab along that to prevent green outs haha. It doesn't really stick, what we mean is it doesn't stick enough. It's too light compared to the amount of suction you have to use to bring in vapor. Much better to use some sort of oil or a heavy concentrate.
Yes this happens. This is because the only part that will be liquid is the bit touching the straw, and the bit soaking into the crumble ball. The adhesive properties of water can easily lift .1-.5 g of wax. One way to get around this is to lightly heat whatever you are dabbing off of, as to stick the crumble to the dish. Dabbing off of silicone, while I do it, is not the best way
IMO, nectar collectors can be as usable as most other glass pieces if used right. I only say this because I’ve basically only used one for the past two years and I’ve pretty much gotten my technique down. You don’t take a big hit, and you hit it semi cold and don’t use too much wax. Don’t leave it in the dab container for that long. That’s how you get dab falling out of your straw. Straws aren’t for big hits. Put your dab on a tool and take a small one and boom, no reclaim. In the end it’s a preference thing. I’m lazy and hate cleaning my pieces. I have all the other ones but the straw is really convenient for me.

I got a nice tree perk one from China years ago for about 15$ thinking about getting another just to have 2, it'd probably sell 75+ if I got the same one in town, I use to get lil kits from a head shop here for like 45 went through 2 and found the same kit from China for 7-10 those were trash, but this tree perk one has lasted great. Prob like 5 or more years? You can also get quartz buckets for your nectar collector too, has like a 45° angle making it more like a pipe, very portable rig.

The black or white that builds up on the end of the tip of the nector is carbon build up from the slight amounts of plant material in the wax if you smoke rosin there is a lot higher chance of that happening because Rosin doesn’t go through a chemical change and depending on how big micron bags are used to press it will increase the amount of plant material in the rosin
Long story, but funny. Ive had one for years, and one period where i went too log before cleaning it the center of the tube clogged mid dab. i hit the tube for a little bit with the torch to clear it up (was middle of winter). Heat up the tip, go to take my dab again and immediately all the reclaim runs down, percolating the burning reclaim through more reclaim, with the only thing keeping it in being my breath, which trying to keep it in gave me one of the fastest honey straw hits ive ever had. But eventually came to an end and it all flooded out onto my pants/phone/fresh gram of wax amidst a coughing panic.
okay so the issue youre having is user error. literall every single thing you said can be avoided by using the straw properly lmfao. Dont think about it like youre holding the tip there while it burns and doing your best to inhale softly so you dont suck it up. Youre supposted to be dipping the tip into your dabs and coming out immediately to just coat it. if you just coat the tip then there isnt enough dab for any of it to get sucked in, it just stays there and disappears like if you were to blow on a thin layer of rubbing alcohol thats on your table. i mean you can literally dip it into your dabs whithout having your mouth up to it or anything and bring it up to your mouth to inhale like youre using a fork to get food and bringing it to your mouth to eat. there is 0 reason that youre sucking up your dabs. poke the dabs with your straw, immediately pull your straw out, inhale for 2-3 seconds, poke, pull out, inhale, poke, pull out, inhale, cough, cough, cough a little more. breathe.....cough, repeat.
Totally agree about the reclaim build up. I bought the Boundless Terp Pen mostly to get the last bit of concenrate left in the container. For $30, it def helps not waste the last bit of concentrates.

First, the size of the hit depends on the size of the tip. I have several sizes that I use depending on the dose I'm taking at the time. Second, I never put the tip in the dab itself. I run the tip near the edge of the dab. I never get backfires or leaks and never get a glob of hot dab burning my tongue using this technique. And finally, dab straws, both torch powered and battery powered, are the easiest and most convenient way of dabbing for me. My all-time favorite device is the original Huni Badger.
Exactly. You need to ease into the edges. I smoke all day, everyday, even at work....fuck it...and I can only smoke about 1 gram a week of 95% distillate. That's exceptionally efficient.

In order to get any good hit out of one, you gotta heat it up RED and accept that the start of your dab is wayyyy over temp
You need a thick tip. Also, avoid heating just the very tip. You wanna heat about a half inch of it so the heat tranfer is correct. You can get a great hit. But yes, therrs no way around the reclaim problem. Not the best piece. But, its better than a paddle imo. Great video man. Thanks
I used to dab crumble with my nectar collector in highschool and would literally suck whole dabs into the rig when I’d forget to heat it up and stick it to the glass I’m dabbing off, would piss me off so bad especially when that was the last of my dabs😂😂

I have an all quartz nectar collector. If you're still going to buy one anyway get one with at least an inch tip with a very gradually taper and all quartz no silicone or metal. I basically never use mine because I never smoke outside of the house anymore but I used to use it whenever I went to work.

Once I had a silicone nectar collector that you just pressed the titanium nail into the end of. I was taking some dabs and it fell out of the nectar collector, while it was over my lap. Not a fun time. If you use one on the regular, just make sure to get one with the clip that retains the nail, and drain it regularly so you don’t have it drip hot reclaim while you’re using it! ✌️
I’ve used a Deluxe Nectar Collector pro for 5 years. I smoke a gram a day and end up with a gram of reclaim after 2-3 weeks. Heat tip pointed up, wait for tip to fade/maybe give it a blow. Then you go up to the side of the glob in your tray. A lot of the problems you’ve had are from lack of skill/ bad materials
7:00 or if you're a broke ass tightwad like me get a straw from the gas station cut it at a 45° angle then flat at the tip again. BAM! Free Flexible tool for getting all the concentrate out of a dish. And i mean all of it
I remember when they first became popular and was so stoked, used to just take massive dabs, the hottest ones ever they always burned. low temps just make the concentrate melt and you get no hit
I don’t think waste is even a concern here. Unless you’re holding it in the wax without breathing. Plus you can reclaim almost everything. Bangers eat dabs, and the wax gets stuck in every crevice of my water pipe. Even if you’re wasting a little with nectar collector it doesn’t compare. Maybe idk how to use a banger right but that’s my opinion.
You want the nectar collector for the kit,you get the nails to make a dab straw,that gives you the best direct hit,without useing water,then only a few should do you.

I don't have a huge issue with nector collectors. I separate my hits and such. But if you just need a quick hit, it comes in handy, and it's portable as well. Preferred, no. Handy, yes.
omfg my buddy let me and a homie borrow his nectar collector at work because we forgot our peak, and we sat down in my car to take a toot on lunch and bro... it was one of those shitty silicone body nectar collectors with the titanium tip you just pop on, and upon heating it for the FIRst time - there was a baby explosion and instantaneously all of those floating black little film things you talked about showed up, but they were all strands like half an inch long and vertical - totally stagnant in the air and took up like every 3-4 square inches of the cabin of the car lmfao it was so terrifying bc we were already fried and just looked at each other thru the bits of soot or whatever like "WAAAAT DA FAAK" 🤣🤣🤣 shit sucked and fkd up my immaculate headliner lmfao smh
You better return whatever you're dabbing because those soots shouldn't be a thing with anything of standard quality. Vaseline is a common product used to cut concentrates and it will make those black carbon soots when burned.
Cewpins probably gonna dawg on me for this but I use a seahorse pro and love it. Smooth hits, you can get a HUGE cloud with 0.1 grams or lower and its electric so the tip doesnt cool off and you can take as big of a hit as need be.
I used an e-straw (lookah seahorse max) for a while and I put soooooo much effort into trying to keep it clean and getting the right technique down. It worked well enough, but it's just so much easier to use a normal rig. Just as portable, easier to clean, bigger hits. Damn thing was more expensive than the rig too lol
One time I was heating up my nectar collector and it just slipped out of my hands, fell and hit me on the stomach and burned a hole through my shirt and then I got a nice burn on my stomach

So I've been wanting to get back into concentrates for the first time in many years (only a couple times a week, no blasting up my tolerance like before), but I saw your vid suggesting a peak pro. Just buy a simple bong and a compatible titanium nail and order some diamonds off the internet. They'll last you forever if you're going to pace yourself like you said.
Just use the glass cup that comes with it. Put your glob in the bottom edge and you can spin/smear the tip in the melted glob around on the bottom and do a decent job getting a good all around hit that's not too hot but still plenty big. I'm not spending $ on a giant piece that's gonna prolly get broke in like 3 mo. This medication is expensive enough as it is. I use concentrate to get a consistent supply without the added health concerns of grey market flower. I feel like technique and acceptance of limitations are why I feel like a NC is still the best choice 4 me. Class dismissed? My b
i was using a dab straw at the homies house and same thing happened. i torched the tip and the resin dripped on my leg. burned the top layer of skin and when you try to wipe it off, ur fingers get burned and sticky
Divine Tribe v5 it's a tank with like a glazed ceramic cup with embedded coils use their recommend mod for extra up time. You can also get a glass tip and run it through a water nectar collector.
Is like the old one hitter vs bowl flower argument. I always preferred one hitters, clean small (or big) hits every time, easy to calibrate. Hated bowls, taking a hit of the burned weed. Aniways, not the same with concentrate, I don't like most nectar collectors because of the reasons of the video, except for the Hunni Badger with bubbler, which is what I use exclusively.
It's because they're too small to retain any heat, so you only end up getting a small rip before it's too cool, and your product ends up condensing on the straw.
Electric dab straws are trash, metal too, but I love crystal straws They're super efficient and you don't need to shove them into the concentrate and cause a mess, just barely tap the surface. I usually run them through a bong, which is the best of all worlds
I love a good banger dab but I feel like they take a while to do and honestly just to hard to get the perfect dab each time around, my fix for the solution is a bought a $35 silicone bong that pops apart into multiple pieces and instead of using the bowl piece or the banger I got with it, I actually got a 14mm ceramic tip and I use the rig with a nectar tip… nothing makes a dab circle as easy as ceramic

Nothing will ever be as bad as the beginning phase of dabbing, back in 2010 dabbing off red hot titanium skillets.
The only way to dab. Make sure to get the wax on the nail while it's red. You want to make sure to get all of that pinky long snake of wax.

ive only ever had way too hot dabs from nectar collectors and it stops reclaim from shooting but makes my already bad wax taste even worse

I’ve used a Deluxe Nectar Collector pro for 5 years. I smoke a gram a day and end up with a gram of reclaim after 2-3 weeks. Heat tip pointed up, wait for tip to fade/maybe give it a blow. Then you go up to the side of the glob in your tray. A lot of the problems you’ve had are from lack of skill/ bad materials

I remember when they first became popular and was so stoked, used to just take massive dabs, the hottest ones ever they always burned. low temps just make the concentrate melt and you get no hit

I don’t think waste is even a concern here. Unless you’re holding it in the wax without breathing. Plus you can reclaim almost everything. Bangers eat dabs, and the wax gets stuck in every crevice of my water pipe. Even if you’re wasting a little with nectar collector it doesn’t compare. Maybe idk how to use a banger right but that’s my opinion.

I don't have a huge issue with nector collectors. I separate my hits and such. But if you just need a quick hit, it comes in handy, and it's portable as well.

omfg my buddy let me and a homie borrow his nectar collector at work because we forgot our peak, and we sat down in my car to take a toot on lunch and bro... it was one of those shitty silicone body nectar collectors with the titanium tip you just pop on, and upon heating it for the FIRst time - there was a baby explosion and instantaneously all of those floating black little film things you talked about showed up, but they were all strands like half an inch long and vertical - totally stagnant in the air and took up like every 3-4 square inches of the cabin of the car lmfao it was so terrifying bc we were already fried and just looked at each other thru the bits of soot or whatever like "WAAAAT DA FAAK" 🤣🤣🤣 shit sucked and fkd up my immaculate headliner lmfao smh
You better return whatever you're dabbing because those soots shouldn't be a thing with anything of standard quality.
Vaseline is a common product used to cut concentrates and it will make those black carbon soots when burned.
Cewpins probably gonna dawg on me for this but I use a seahorse pro and love it. Smooth hits, you can get a HUGE cloud with 0.1 grams or lower and its electric so the tip doesnt cool off and you can take as big of a hit as need be.
I used an e-straw (lookah seahorse max) for a while and I put soooooo much effort into trying to keep it clean and getting the right technique down. It worked well enough, but it's just so much easier to use a normal rig. Just as portable, easier to clean, bigger hits. Damn thing was more expensive than the rig too lol

Just use the glass cup that comes with it. Put your glob in the bottom edge and you can spin/smear the tip in the melted glob around on the bottom and do a decent job getting a good all around hit that's not too hot but still plenty big. I'm not spending $ on a giant piece that's gonna prolly get broke in like 3 mo. This medication is expensive enough as it is. I use concentrate to get a consistent supply without the added health concerns of grey market flower. I feel like technique and acceptance of limitations are why I feel like a NC is still the best choice 4 me. Class dismissed? My b

i was using a dab straw at the homies house and same thing happened. i torched the tip and the resin dripped on my leg. burned the top layer of skin and when you try to wipe it off, ur fingers get burned and sticky

I haven't had much problems with my Lookah Seahorse Pro Plus. I actually used to end up with more reclaim in my MJ Arsenal piece after a few sesh's.

I use my nectar collector for DMT and it’s awesome! Just gotta be careful not to burn your legs. But I no longer use it for dabs

Is like the old one hitter vs bowl flower argument. I always preferred one hitters, clean small (or big) hits every time, easy to calibrate. Hated bowls, taking a hit of the burned weed. Aniways, not the same with concentrate, I don't like most nectar collectors because of the reasons of the video, except for the Hunni Badger with bubbler, which is what I use exclusively.

It's because they're too small to retain any heat, so you only end up getting a small rip before it's too cool, and your product ends up condensing on the straw.
Electric dab straws are trash, metal too, but I love crystal straws
They're super efficient and you don't need to shove them into the concentrate and cause a mess, just barely tap the surface. I usually run them through a bong, which is the best of all worlds

I love a good banger dab but I feel like they take a while to do and honestly just to hard to get the perfect dab each time around, my fix for the solution is a bought a $35 silicone bong that pops apart into multiple pieces and instead of using the bowl piece or the banger I got with it, I actually got a 14mm ceramic tip and I use the rig with a nectar tip… nothing makes a dab circle as easy as ceramic
I used to use a straw when I was broke and desperate so I know the pain of reclaim drip.
For my nectar collector i use an empty dab container to hit the dab from.
