Black Ninja did a great tutorial on these. Basically do a kickflip but wind your shoulders and that’s it. I think he wrote in the title: “don’t overthink it” very true. Or look at Bastien Salabanzi or Ryan Sheckler. They have insane backside flips
Your videos are consistently super high quality, and I really appreciate how much time and effort you put into creating them. It really shows. This trick tip goes into so much depth, you're always really smashing it out of the park. Thanks for all your hard work! I always look forward to watching your videos.
Great tips. For me one thing someone told me and helped me out alot was to stomp them at the end. Flick, turn, stay above your board and then stomp her down at the end. Great vids and tips, cheers.
so that's what a rocket BS flip looks like... well at least you're consistent. I'm trying to learn them right now! So here I am watching your tutorial. I filmed a great one, first clean one 2 days ago, and deleted it last night by accident! I can't believe it lol, I land them like 1/30 tries and they have always been sloppy so I don't know when the next clean one will be, sucks.
I can backside flip "nicely"on flat banks fairly consistently, but when i'm skating flat I usually end up doing a 90 degree backside kick-flip late backside 90, and sometimes it ends up pivoting around and being this horrific bastardized version of a big-spin flip, lol. I've been told I don't wind up correctly and "i don't let my hips follow my shoulders". I've tried correcting it using all sorts of different tips from others who IMO have beautiful backside flips, but to no avail. From what I'm told I guess they're not THAT bad looking (except for the pig-spit big flip I mentioned...that thing is disgusting) My backside 180's are exactly the same, 90 degree backside ollie-pause-90 degree's more... I donno.
I have a love/hate relationship with bs flips. I can do them off stuff like stairs or gaps in a handful of tries, but I can't do them flatground and I get a letter in SKATE every time. Also I can halfcab flip 9 out of 10 times flatgound and that's literally the same trick but fakie. I don't get it.
I got those before the trick in the video also. Much easier for me not because of the way I landed but because of the momentum I could do them without even popping the ground
For me, putting the back foot just a little bit at an angle makes the trick a lot easier. It may feel awkward but the land ratio has more than doubled since I do that. Just like in this trickipedia but not fakie. ua-cam.com/video/I4lVyunC6i4/v-deo.html
i suck at these. i always try too hard and end up doing a backside dolphin flip looking thing
VLSkate I accidentally 540 front foot impossible, late lazer flip
*late lazer flip*
@@potatogun2845 yup accidentally lol

I have the backfoot issue and might be going too far off the nose. Thanks for this video, digging the shred school being back.
Thank you radrat. Your channel is amazing and my daily show. :)
The end over end style is the best. Dolphin flip steez
Ive only landed this trick about twice really terribly. Cant wait to go out and try it again after watching this. Great video
These tips was very good!👏
i usually have problems rolling away switch somehow this also happens with bs bigspins but with bs heels i kinda roll away but kinda slowly
Great tips as always!
For some reason I could do these ages before frontside flip I learned these right when I learn kickflips
I suggest radrat to get a wider board (and trucks) to clean up his landing
he said in a video that he is too old to skate a wider deck
Andrei he looks like 28 tho haha

can you teach backside 360s?
Shred school for days. Backside 180s are hard as fuck but I can back 3?

The momentum makes it much easier to spend with it for me. I can do them way more consistently and got them way earlier
Rocket flips are not proper. Learn the proper way first (leveled flips). Other than that, good tutorial.
we have the same looking backside flips
Do you use your own produced music? Good stuff as always.
What's the size of your board?
I'm interested too in the specs. Nose & tail length and board width & length.
is it just me or does half cab flips feels easier than regular backside flips
it is because you'll end up rolling regular
half cab flips are definitely easier, but bs flips usually look better

Slasher 🍕
ive been skating off and on like 14 years and cant land these lmao not unless its on a bank
Me too. Did you ever figure them out? I can’t pop them and the board wraps around my front foot
Semi BA style

How is that non abrasive treating you
Your doing a variel flip with a 180, you need to actually pop it and catch it. . How do you do trick tips on tricks your clearly still learning ?
1. People ask for it
2. He is recovering from a knee surgery
3. That is his weird nerdy style
While I agree his way of doing it isn't the nicest to look at but any way you want to cut it the trick he is doing is definitely a bs flip.
