Man, David Warner could be funny and heartfelt when he needed to be. R.I.P.

David is so wonderful in this film. It shows what a versatile actor he was and for once he almost got the girl! His Joshua is a kind, gentle, generous, and good man. This is long before Warner was pigeonholed as a villain by so many producers and directors. Thank God Peckinpah recognized and appreciated David's acting range and talent and put him in 2 more of his films.

He wasn't a good man. He wasn't a bad man. But lord he was a man !

Most horribly unknown and underrated western ever! Interestingly enough, one of the bad guys, L.Q. Jones, would direct Jason Robards 4 years later in the cult classic A Boy and His Dog.

Featuring a pre-Miami Vice Don Johnson.

Why isn't this funny gem of a western not shown more on TV?! I usually don't like most of the westerns but this one is funny and entertaining.

Sam Peckinpah who directed said people complained about the violence in his films and when he made this no one came to see it. It's his least violent film I think

Poem by Emily Dickenson, " The world feels dusty, when we stop to die. We want the dew then, honors taste dry. Flags vex a dying face, but the least fan stirred by a friends hand cools like the rain".
