Agreed, A Hat in Time is just good, mindless, adorable (and slightly murdery) fun. Specially with the Cruise and the Nyakuza DLCs. Oh and if you ever get the ice hat, try it out with the pillow mountain in Hat Kids ship.^^
There are blue timerift levels, that can be found on diffrent maps in the game There are purple ones as well (these are more interesting in my opinion) that appear on a map after you complete a relic set (there are 3 or 4 parts to a set) on a stand in the space ship, and after completing it, you get a comic book with some lore and a chance at getting a new color.
As a person who's still finding a bunch of stuff in the game, there's A LOT of collectables, yarn, rift tokens, etc. Alpines has a bunch, it's a bit easier once you get a specific badge for finding them but yeah. Also be sure to find those relics in the gift boxes around the maps. They open up special time rifts called Purple time rifts that have story book badges hidden in them for extra lore and a time piece.
ive been playing this a year ago just wait until you play vannesas manor level lets just say it goes from cute to creepy there is also a secret that skips the whole level in vannesas manor but its a secret :) also if you love the game there is 2 other dlcs but its not on console yet after 3 years but last year they sent a teaser saying they are working on the console version of the dlc it comes with 2 extra worlds (but they are seperate dlc) nyakutsa metro, and the cruise chapter (this chapter also comes with a hard version of it called seal the deal) and if you buy both dlc when you beat the final boss you unlock 2 player mode! :) (if you already beat the final boss you need to beat it again to unlock 2 player :/)
