That's a big yikes on the haldex service cost. The filter clean is very easy and doesn't really require any special tools aside from replacing the o-rings and bolts for the pump. $200+ just for that seems like a robbery. It's around $120 for the haldex service kit and maybe 1-1.5h of work. I'd highly recommend trying it yourself next time if you feel inclined to do so.
in the UK main dealer Haldex service is £120, just did mine at 30k miles on a 2017 MK7.5 R.
The vw service department didn’t thread my oil filter properly and it made my car leak a little oil I’m glad I caught it. My front lip ripped off and I looked under the car and saw oil on the oil pan and though I cracked it😂

Well well well. Seems I was right. You should have gotten the 8R in the first place. At least now you're admitting you made a mistake buying a used 7R instead of an 8.

@@NewEnglandPete At least now you con proceed forward with a superior car (8R). You live and learn. Only buy a 7 if it's a GTI. The 7R is not worth the cost over the 7 GTI. The 8R on the other hand....
