I was there that day 25 years ago, a pal was a trainee at a hair dressers and had washed the hair of TFI's producer, and she gave him 2 vip tickets for the show. Had a good laugh and chat with the band in the vip lounge. They were good guys, down to earth, no overblown celeb egos. One of them (poss the drummer) wanted to buy my purple sunglasses, but I refused his bids. Looking back, I should've sold them to him, he might have worn them for the performance, and I'd be looking at them now. I lost the bloody things a month later. Ugh! The coolest shades I've ever had. Also got to meet Robert Palmer briefly, he was surrounded by what looked like bodyguards, so just a quick 'yer a legend!' with a thanks and a chuckle back.

Always thought he tried well too hard with his vocals back then. If he just let it flow I think they would have been bigger...for a while. In saying that, this is a spot on performance.

TFI always had the coolest music.
Met the singerist chap at a Charity gig in Great Yarmouth, I introduced him as Rick Waller. He took it well. Lots of stories too.
