OUTSTANDING clear and specific training information! I love your sincerity and post-race thoughts. Extremely valuable for those prepping for their first 70.3.
Man, running injuries are the worst... Lol I learned the hardway too.. in the video I made about ironman training the whole thing i figured out was "do not get injured running"
Wonderful! We are also training for an iron man 70.3 this year and are documenting our journey, along with sharing some studies and research on training along the way! Let us know if you like our content! :)
In what heart rate range do you train for swimming? Because it is way more intense than running or cycling if you freestyle. How to build swimming endurance?
Would love to here or see what kind of volume you were accumulating each week per discipline per phase. Training for my first Half Iron in May next year...in my pre base phase now.
I strongly believed that lack of strength training is the reason of my injuries and issues with running. Recently I started to focus on strength training more. Unfortunately also not without troubles. But you you ended up with an injury with all the strength training and knowledge applied. Something to think about. 🤔
I’m doing my first Ironman 70.3 this September and hearing how you analyze your time in such healthy way gives me optimism to not get overwhelmed if things go wrong during the race. 💪 Thanks for sharing and explaining.
Take the trail out toward the casino. I can't remember the name of the trail but if you head down olentangy but don't go downtown go straight instead that trail goes for like 60 miles or so
Yes, it's certainly possible for someone who's say, averagely fit to complete a 70.3 with one year of training. Just make sure you only ramp up the training slowly and be really careful with the running, which is where most injuries occur. I'm also training for a 70.3 in summer of 2022 to celebrate my 60th birthday. I've done a couple of sprint marathons before but I'm happy to have the extra time as being a little older I need to be really careful about making progressions in terms of both speed and distance really gradual to avoid injury.
Nope. Closer to 2:40 I think. I actually hobbled/ walked for about 5 miles of it. Live and learn though. I'll be really strong for my next one in either 2021 or 2022
Personally I do bike on Monday, Wednesday, Saturday. Swim on Tuesday/ Thursday. Run on Tuesday, Sunday. But you can divide it up however you would like.

I recommend 80/20 endurance plan, especially for running. Good luck next race.
That’s pretty much what I did for my next race and it went really well.

Where is a good place to log long distance cycles in Columbus. Currently live at OSU, don't feel safe cycling most places around here.

Is a 70.3 iron man okay to do your first triathlon? I can give myself 1 year of training

@@JesusWasHeree Good luck!
@@kandamy1 thank you, good luck on yours!
1 month out from mine and this scared me 🤣
I am assuming you did not run a 1:30

@@TheMovementSystem ouch.
@@TheMovementSystem so what caused you to bonk the run? Did you over cycle?
You develop all running swimming and cycling together
How you organise it in your week
Thanks 👍

You trained quite a bit. 7 months of high volume training. (I'm Toby and I'm autistic)
My man, we gotta get you out of Ohio.
What type of knee injury did you have? Doesn’t look pleasant
