Make sure its spot is clear of dust, if that doesnt fix it, then it maybe a sensor malfunction telling the detector that there is smoke, but in reality there is none, replace the defect Protect immediately.
If it was a sensor malfunction it would’ve told you from the nightly promise that the sensors have failed. Smoke detector regulations require detectors to do that

In 2:30 evening, the smoke alarm finished and after saying that, it sounded again. My dog barked for the whole night. I calmed my dog down. And at noon, it happened again. My dog barked very loud until 3pm it was over and it sounded again. It happened for a long time. False alarms keep going on me. Until it stopped. My family stopped, my dog stopped, even I stopped. I was like: I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!!! TOO MUCH FALSE ALARMS." I hope it never happen again.
Trust me, they do. The reason the nest protects are seen as fault prone is because it's a popular smart product, so they're are more people complaining about it. Think about it, not everyone in the US has the same $20 smoke detector.
@@RamClaw I guarantee: there is probably no smoke detector more prone to malfunctioning than the Nest Protect, going by how many people have reported such. Take our house for example: we replaced the 20+ year old FireX G6 ionization AC-only alarms with First Alert 3120B dual-sensor hardwired with battery backup units when we moved in, & so far the only time they've gone off is when they've been tested or one time when my dad created particles of combustion while he was cutting a floor threshold (which is both times when they *should* alarm). From what I've seen it seems like Nest rushed things when it came to designing the Protect, which lead to the malfunctions; compare that to big names like First Alert & Kidde who have already been in the fire protection business for decades & thus I'm sure know a *whole* lot more than Nest about designing smoke alarms since they've had more experience than Nest (which is why their alarms are a lot less prone to false alarms than Nest's Protect). In short: because of all the malfunctions reported with Nest Protect, I'd trust *any* other smoke alarm over it (& I have, given the ones currently in our home that, as I've said, have only alarmed when they should unlike the Protect).
We had a false alarm at 2 am - 4 am Basically in my room at 2 am it said “warning there’s smoke in the kids room” cuz for some reason my rooms labeled that So then I went to bother my mom and she checked for smoke their was none and sent me off to sleep After one hour I fell asleep and then at 4 am all of the ones in the house were saying EMERGENCY THEIRS SMOKE IT THE KIDS ROOM ofc their was no smoke while it was acting like there’s a fire And once they were all turned off AGAIN EMERGENCY THEIRS SMOKE and this time they couldn’t turn of remotely Finally they went off by them self

The first version is very buggy and a message “this alarm can’t be hushed.” Second gen is better.
The 1st gen nest protects are known to have these faults. Contact nest support and they might replace them with 2nd gen protects for free.

The reason on your alarm is because there might be an issue with the sensor on your nest.

It could be a failure with smoke sensor.
If that was the case the light ring would be yellow and there would be a message saying that the sensors have failed when you do the test feature
