- Got lucky on this one! Only 4040 of these made. Only offer in 3 colors, red, white, and Black! I do a walk around showing most of the 40th anniversary differences.
Very nice! Congrats! 👍
Probably the only new vehicle that’s being built nowadays that’ll last 20-30+ years. Congrats on your purchase man. 5th Gen 4Runners are super cool
thats not a good thing, cars used to last without telling yourself youll get 20 years from it. mass production destroyed integrity. on every make and model.
Man that is so cool looking
Good video, I like what you said “it’s all you need”. Now I want one.
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! Plus, THIS CAR/TRUCK, will last a lifetime!!!
Looks cool. 60s 70s vibes.
Just saw the car today going down the road. Fell in love with it. Especially the stripe
It’s striking isn’t it!? I wasn’t to sure about it either. But I lifted mine a few inches put 285/70/17 tires on the factory wheels, tinted the front windows and added a full length Prinsu roof rack, now it really looks special. Check out a video on the car wash staining my new Prinsu roof rack to check it out after the mods.
Thank you!
@@RestoflipI recommend not overdoing it problem is when you start adding too much to it you're goning to be taking away the Is simplicitness of it, it is a vehicle that you need to keep and take care of, because it is a limited edition version of the past
@@Americafirst-i8q I totally agree. I will not overdo it. Any modifications I do, will be easily reversible and I will keep all stock parts. Keep an eye out for my next video on it. I do put a really nice ADS lift on it, BFGs, and a Prinsu roof rack. No cutting or anything that would change anything other than bolt on. I’m keeping the original suspension so that it can be put back to stock if someone desires. I will say myself, it looks much better lifted
I owned this one and loved it but traded up to an ORP thinking long-term having all the systems might be worth it.
Just bought same model in White. Had the Icon 2.5 lift done and BFG Tires put on. And that's all I will do.
(Famous last words)
Haha. Same thing. All bolt on.
I used icon rear springs and UCA’s. But I put some 2.5” ADS shocks and cool overs. 2 inch lift with 285/70/17’s.
Good for at least 300,000 miles. Change the oil at first 1000 miles, every 5000 thereafter.
Love it ,congrats!! I have a Army Green 2021 trail ,and I love it,good luck with your 5 Runner.
Thanks for being honest about pricing. Good luck with your new rig.
You should frame the sticker list for History. Definitely nice. Thanks for the motivation!!!
Congrats, I picked up a red one last week. Enjoy
I love 4runners! The simplicity, reliability and durability is what's missing in a lot of vehicles today.
I agree. I think most the cars being built are going to be the least reliable vehicles ever. I mean I go through a new phone every year or two because the hardware start’s getting glitchy.
The 4runner you can tell is a 500,000 25 year vehicle if you take care of it. As long as you can still get gas, it’ll keep running!
Just don’t put a calculator to how much money in gas you’ll spend at 500k. 😉
Gauges and radio look so much better than my 2016, but I am keeping mine forever !
Beautiful and the best of the best!!!! Congratulations!
Dude I love it! Love the retro vibe. I'm picking up my 2023 Camry TRD in 3 weeks. It's black also.
Thanks a lot bud! I’m really happy with it so far!
Congratulations on the TRD Camry. That’s definitely the best looking Camry ever made. Whenever I see them I can’t help but stare. Haha.
I got the white one. I put a 2” leveling kit with scs 17 x8.5 with 33 in AT tires. Also put TRD skid plate with rescue hooks and tow rig. Tinted up all the window but now thinking about a full lift kit with bigger tires.
Nice rig. Congrats
They won't mail it. Or at least mine didn't. Received TSB letter and had to go to dealer to have key cut and programmed. Yes, a key. I have a manual Tacoma.
Thanks. They did give me the physical key, just not the fob.
Congrats.....I also got one. Black. Mine came with a TRD skid plate. Yakima roof rack / basket already on it. All weather mats and cargo mat. I've had mine about 5 weeks. Only have 429 miles on it. Probably gonna put a ladder on back to be able to put stuff up top. Any ladder someone can recommend?...thanks
Get the GOBI ladder. It clamps on so no drilling.
Did the dealer add all that stuff?
I lifted mine. I’m posting a video later today on the process. You can get a sneak peak if you check out my video on the roof rack
ua-cam.com/video/MuXklK1kqjI/v-deo.html
Congrats! Toyota is built to last!
Heck yah I have a white one
They are awesome, recommend seat covers and a steering wheel cover just to protect the seats for the long term.
I really wanted a white one. Take ‘‘em as you can get them I guess. Black looks awesome but shows everything.
@@RestoflipIt only looks good in white
Dame Time!
Congratulations; you paid a $2,000 premium for stickers and badging.
Nice. They need to up the tailgate to a button open close.
No they don't they need to leave it the way it was the idea behind it was to keep it looking like the original one was from the past, you probably were not even born back then when the original one came out
A TEAM VAN
That looks great! Congrats! I kind of wish they would have used a TRDOR instead of an SR5 though. There is nothing retro about shifting into 4WD with a dial! Of course, there's nothing retro about crawl control either, so...
Yeah true true. I do like the manual shifter, and rear locker. But it is what it is. A-trac is there and that’s pretty effective. IMO crawl control is gimmicky. Although seeing it escape out of sand is cool.
I’m adding a video soon, where I put ADS suspension on it, 285-70-17 KO2s and a prinsu roof rack.
Quit belly aching you more than likely couldn't even afford one anyways secondly there's nothing wrong with things being simplistic the simpler the better less problems to go wrong with it
Gx460 or this ? Or gx550. Or Land Cruiser. Can’t decide :/
You bought a 4 Runner from Dame Dolla! That’s pretty cool,
if 2,8 diesel gd would be perfect too
Hmmm. I'm liking those wheels. I really want to see them on my 4th gen.
4th Gen is the best gen
congrats man!
JBL premium audio?
No JBL, seems like it has more bass then my other 4runner, but no
Congrats!! I bought the same one a little over a month ago! Mine was technically used, but it only had 900 miles. Sadly mine did not have the 40 Year Anniversary mats for whatever reason. Any chance that you have a part number on them? I noticed that they were wrapped up. Totally loving mine!
Oh nice! Congratulations to you too. If you take your VIN number to the parts counter at Toyota, they should be able to look them up for you.
I’d look but I’m in the middle of moving and packed them up. Keep in touch and if you can’t. I can send you a part number after the move next week
@@Restoflip Hey man, really appreciate it. Good luck on the move! If I have no luck in finding it I'll hit you up later. I saw your other video on the Prinsu. That is a bummer with the discoloring. I added the TRD Pro Rack to mine, mostly for looks, haha.
There will be after markets parts for the 40th Anniversary Edition before you know it. Everyone will copy it, saying it's an original one, just a matter of time. Luckily this is a original 40th Anniversary.
You may want to contact the person you bought it from. they may have kept them. Thinking those floor mats are limited like the vehicle.
Beautiful! I love it.
Congrats
The stripe is kinda retro like hot wheels in the 70’s!
Yeah totally. Funny thing is, they make a hot wheel of this exact one! I bought two off of eBay. You can look it up.
@@Restoflip nice!
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Congrtas!! I feel like they Toyota could've done a better job on the tripe decal though. Just looks like an afterthought IMO.
A little cheesy…..yes….the point is is it’s not aftermarket. I remember back in the 80’s and 90’s toyota put cheesy decals on the sides of all their trucks. People love that these days. Kinda comical really. It’s a lot better in person than in the pictures. It’s a neck breaker with passer byers
@@easyrideguy it grows on you. Like I’ve said. They’re cheesy for sure. But so are under glow and led lights in the cabin.
It’s just the world we live in. SMH
It’s more of a collectors version. There’s even hot wheels of it. I believe in the future these will bring big money.
I mean think of the super bird.
@@Restoflip I actually don’t think it’s cheesy and like the reminiscence of the 80’s decals. I would for sure get the exact car if I can find one for msrp.
Man I think it’s super cool! Enjoy it!!!! 🎉
You are one smart man! You bought the most reliable vehicle you can ever own!
Get these before the new ones come out before they put turbos in 4 cylinder engines. Won’t be as reliable as these.
Thanks Jay. They are solid!! I’m pretty sure I’m going to buy the new one too. But will keep this one around for years to come. I plan on doing some comparison videos in the future. Should be interesting.
@@Restoflip Hey if you have the money why not!
Had you considered the TRD off-road? And if so what made you go with this one?
Not to sound snobbish but I have one of those too. Lol
I’m a toyota fan so I thought why not! After I lifted it and put some bigger tires, I don’t get any hate. People love it!
@@Restoflip I don’t think that sounds snobbish at all! I’d do the same thing lol. A lot of the dealers in the Bay Area seem to only have grey TRD off road. I think black looks the best in my opinion. They have the anniversary in black so I am trying to decide between the two. Thanks!
Very nice!!!
can you get the strip off of it?
I’m sure you could, but you might as well get a regular sr5 premium
I bought one about 5 weeks ago, still waiting for the letter so I can get my second key.
They told me 3-4 months.
Did you end up upgrading the tires?
Yes. I did a ads coil over lift and 285/70/17 with factory wheels
I'm sure the upcharge on this one was ridic. Considering it's a "40th Anny" edition, bronze wheels, 40th Anny badge and stripes doesn't seem all that special. You do however have a 4Runner -- one of the most solid and reliable vehicles on the road. Congrats!
It was pretty much the same price as a premium package on an SR5. I think $1400 more. I was thinking resale might be $1400 better in the future.
It’s actually amazing how much hate the stickers bring. I’d say a 70/30. 70% of people say they love them, 30% hate.
When I first saw them I thought they were ugly too. But to tell you the truth, they’ve really grown on me. It is a bummer they didn’t use the TRD pro or Off road package to start with, but for anything I’ll be taking it through the A-Trac will work just fine. I did a ADS 4” lift on it with some 285 70 17 BFG KO2’s and a Prinsu roof rack, it looks really bad ass.
They made a Hot wheel of the 40th so that’s cool. You can see them on EBay. I bought two of them. One was customized with a 3D printed roof rack and some BFGs. Haha.
Check out my other video that shows it after the lift.
@@Restoflip Sure, the MSRP isn't bad, but dealers will mark them up at least 10k-15k. I'm glad they didn't put stickers on the TRD Pro. I own a '15 and looks great without, but, that's just what I like, and I'm not into the modifying part of the experience. Other than a front end level mine is bone stock.
@@billyhughes9776 I agree some greedy dealers will. I recommend finding a dealer that won’t. I live in Portland Oregon. Portland toyota was actually charging a 15,000 ADM on one, but I found 3 dealers selling them for sticker. Damian Lillard Toyota, Beaverton Toyota, and Wilsonville Toyota. I heard the first run of them they produced 750 of them so just keep your eye out for later in the year and you should be able to get one for at most sticker.
@@Restoflip I'm not buying a 40th Anny -- I'm perfectly content with my paid off '15 TRD Pro.
It’s ok…at the end of the day, it’s still a 4Runner. Stickers on cars is a pet peeve of mine. Kudos on your purchase.
Nice!
Why no manual transfer case?
Great question. It’s based off of the SR5. It would of been a lot better if they based it off of a TRD off road.
At least it has A-trac
@@Restoflip reason I like the sr5 premium it comes with just enough that you are happy and it does come with the manual transfer case as well.
@@Lifesrad8 I have never seen an SR5 with the manual transfer case. I e only seen it in the TRD off road and Pro. Have you seen otherwise?
@@Restoflip I literally have one sr5 premium granite it's a 2018 but mine has one. Maybe after 2018 they took that option away.
@@Lifesrad8 oh maybe. That’s cool. I definitely prefer the manual transfer case lever. There’s something satisfying about switching it in.
What a waste of money. Sr5 and trd off road are better values.
Wow I payed more for my SR5 base model. What state did you buy it in?
I live in Oregon. There was only about 400 in tax
@@Restoflip no wonder. Sales tax here in Illinois is 10%.
@@achaidez93 what a rip!!
@@Restoflip still happy to have my 4Runner
@@Restoflip only 300 tax, wow! Here in Rhode Island it's 7% tax, would have been about 3300 in tax alone.
Hate the strips!
They grow on you. Keep in mind it’s factory anniversary special, so it’s a throw back to the 80’s when all there trucks including the 4runner had cheesy strips. And good ol iron man Ivan Stewart raced Baja for toyota.
@@Restoflip Sorry, I didn’t mean to be harsh. They do kind of grow on you. I personally love Toyota vehicles, I’ve owned 3 pickups, a camera, and 3 4Runners. I hope you enjoy yours.
@@josephvalek5746 No worries fellow Toyota lover. To be honest I felt the same way when I saw the red one with the same stripes. I just picked it up because I’m a toyota fanatic and thought it would be a good opportunity to have a rare one. I put another video on about the car wash staining my Prinsu roof rack. And you can see it after I lifted and added the roof rack. It’s definitely a big improvement
Drive home and take out once a week 😊
Yes. That would be ideal. I think
In 20-25 years, maybe less, it will be worth big bucks. I can’t help but drive it though. I’ve had it about six weeks, just about to flip 1000 miles.
Check out my other video on it. I already lifted it and added a roof rack. That’s all I’m doing. So I can put it back to stock in a few hours.
Don't care for the black color
Look up the hot wheel on eBay. Black is very difficult to keep looking clean, and shows scratches and what not, but the majority would say it’s the best looking. If I had my choice, I would of bought the white one. The red I don’t care for, the black looks menacing, and bad ass in my opinion.
Thanks for your feedback!
I have a trd or premium black so I like it lol
i want so bad
I saw one 2 days ago at Beaverton Toyota in Portland/Beaverton or. Maybe it’s still there!
That thing is ugly!
