Not bad. My only gripe is the camera movement. The way the camera perfectly centers the car and tracks it nearly perfectly makes it feel unrealistic. Maybe add some slight camera shake to get rid of the perfect still camera. And as the car is nearing the center of the road, maybe have the car be on the left side of the frame (implying that the car was driving faster than the camera man's pan). Either way, the render looks solid and the work looks legit. Good stuff.
Praxis Visuals great idea and suggestion! Glad you liked the video anyways! :D
I was also thinking the same.
We can free the camera trach from the car and instead make it follow an empty object, then keyframe the empty to *roughly* follow and be around the car. This can look like someone was trying to capture the car on the phone.
This way we can also add some noise in the empty object timeline, without having anything to do with the car.
brooooo, i needed this like 2 weeks ago, definitely will be watching this again!!
yeah sorry xD
@@DamianMathew ngl, you always come out with some banging videos, cant wait for the next one, might try to do a video like this myself
Really makes me happy that you like the videos! I also think I will focus a bit more on Automotive. That’s what I know best but also according to my views it seams like Cars are my most popular videos. So let’s see!

What a great and well explained tutorial! Keep up the great work
Awesome, I am glad my video was able to help! :D
@@DamianMathew great vid
Thanks so much for the tutorial I'm getting this add on next...Andrew D has some major cool addons
Straight to the point, I really enjoyed this tutorial, thank you for sharing! cheers from Mexico
Awesome great to hear! :D
I'm not even into animation but man the her explanation will help me a lot thanks
Joanesept yeah this is great for quick simple animations. I’m also not a big animation guy, but these type of things I love to do! I just hate rendering animations. Also with still images you can use photoshop.
Looks so realistic! Thanks again!
Wade Bekker your welcome :D
HDRI Haven FTW:) thanks for the tutorial man!
Wow would love to try it cuz why not?
Edit: but the thing is I don't have spare money on me for buying the hdri so any way to do it without it?
the hdri is free lol hdrihaven.com/hdri/?h=rural_winter_roadside
@@zypizypi thanks I did not knew it was free..
i cant buy hdri maker cuz i dont have money for that :/
brooo, waiting for my new gpu. Ty for the tutorial
Amazing as always mate👌
I just purchased the HDRI maker looks pretty cool now all I need is some Hdri to load in.
Oh I just noticed, you joined the members program? Awesome! I didn't even announce it yet, I am glad you found it! I think you might be the first one.
@@DamianMathew I'm your only member cool that'll be the first time for me
@@daviddahl8562 I think once I announce a few people will join. Especially beeing an early member will be great, because in live streams I can talk to members only and focus more on the questions.
@@DamianMathew Just curious are you from Berlin I'm from St. Paul MN I remember in the early days especially the 60's You had to leave your home to talk or meet someone. Technology always amazed me
@@daviddahl8562 yes I’m from Berlin! I’m a Army kid, that’s how I ended up here. I am American theoretically. I first thought you meant St Pauli near Hamburg haha.
Please make a step-by-step full course
For modeling? On my list!
@@DamianMathew I would like to buy a realistic car modeling and animation course.
Esi Baba interesting, i’ll think about that!
how to do the animation like this, BUT the camera also moves, not just panning ? great video btw !
Amazing tutorial like always man😍🔥 Can you make a tutorial on how to create such photoreal car paint texture like the one in this tutorial?
Rishab Jindal yes I think I will, I got a few suggestions on modeling. It will just be a very long tutorial. Far more than 10min xD I’m glad you liked it!
Damian Mathew waiting eagerly for the tutorial😍
5:27 bruh we have drivers in blender man! For such a simple car movement a a simple driver is more than enough
Thank you, neighbour! Them HDRIs at the beginning you took basically at my doorstep. Elsenbrücke and Pushkin Allee, ain't it ;)
Oh yeah?! I guess we are neighbors
You're a lier. You said that it gonna take 10 mins to learn how to create this. But you made this under 7 mins dude.
Damn! You're a genius. Thanks man. I need your insta ID. I want to follow you
Unexpected comment plot twist xD @chimpbadger
@@DamianMathew you got a new follower. @the_noob_animator
As usual great tutorial 🔥 this channel is going to grow alot. Just a question, can you explain how to make tire trail and particle sand ? for example a close up animation of an offroad tire spin splashing sand and making a trail.
Uuuuuh that's a hard one to be honest, at least if it should look real. Of the bat I'd say use smoke and particles. The deformation I would do with vector displacement. But man this is not an easy task. I'll think about it and see if I'll make a tutorial about it. But this is definitely hitting my limits.
@@DamianMathew Thanx dude.I will try smoke and vector method it might work .Keep going cant wait for your next video
@@f-2197 Thanks, I will do!
Such a nice dude I'd have a beer with you for sure.

Awesome! Will do! Next week: Tire Modelling inkl. free give away
Great Tutorial.
Totally awesome man!
Yo Damian ..big ups to you.....this is a really awesome tutorial.Just wondering why you didn;t use the fog feature built in to HDRI Maker instead
That is my favorite car
Hey, where can I find this mustang model? It looks really good
To achieve a better and more realistic result, it is better to change the hdri for a sphere type object, which contains the hdri and has emission. The 3d is too noticeable when moving the camera and using a hdri, whereas if you keep the camera still to the object, it is much less noticeable. I don't recommend using hdri if they will animate inconvenient camera shake
The light has nothing to do with a halfdome or sphere shaped object. The light source containing the hdri is always equirectangular or actually cube shaped (cube map).
The environment has nothing to do with the light and is just a wallpaper basically. If you want more realistic parallax, you can of course model the whole environment. But that also won’t look realistic and take a lot of time. just using a sphere instead of a half-dome seams contra productive.
@@DamianMathew It is a suggestion, if you want to try, welcome
@@NoiecityHacking then I am not sure what you mean, can you explain?
@@DamianMathew When you keep the camera still, the realism remains, but when you move the camera, it also jerks the position of the HDRI, and it becomes unnatural, noticing the 3D, that's why many choose to keep a camera fixed, or create a sphere and add emission, some add emission only to specific parts of the sphere, which is also an option to achieve more realism in case of moving the camera
@@NoiecityHacking I understand an hdr background is not perfectly realistic, but I don’t understand what the alternative is next to modeling it. I’m not sure I understand what you mean by sphere, can you maybe send me an example on discord?
Ha, I have cracked your secret! Put your mask off, Cgmatter!
кибер робот hahaha damn you got me. I’m actually looking forward to getting in contact with him at somepoint. Would love to make some kind of cooperation video.
Great tutorial thank you !
Glad you liked it!
Freaking nice, loved it. Subbed.
As a blender newbie, how do you show the animation handles types menu? (the Bezier, Linear, etc ones) Was it V too?
And a second question, where do you get the car models? I used to model cars rarely in 3dsmax eons ago but I don’t really fully care about as much anymore and just prefer to have an outcome quicker, any suggestions would be welcomed. I mean, we are talking about a Ford provided model here, can’t get better than that.
can u please show how to do it without HDRI Maker because that addon is like 34GB and tha't 3/4 of my monthly data package
Halfdome on Blendermarket
It's doing crazy drift😆
I love this tutorial and want to try myself but I don't have Hdri Maker addon. Any way to get a similar setup from Hdri map without the addon? I've tried using Lily Scraper addon (which is great) but the car is out of scale respect to the background and I'm not able to adjust it...
You can make it yourself. It’s kind of like a squished sphere with flat floor. But it’s not super easy to get the UVs right. But just squishing kind of works
very nice video
Sick animation but,,, Where’s the driver xD
Thank you sir. Can you tell me how long do you work with Blender ?
About 10 years I think
Impressive tutorial 🤗
But let's get a bit deeper
I made an animation with the built-in denoiser openimage , it is cool but sometimes it give slight flicker specially in shades , any bright ideas about final settings?
yo how'd you get the official ford model??
Was for a project years back.
Damain Mathew nice vid
You are exploding here .. mr. UA-cam :)
Na mal schauen, step by step :D
Can project ground without buying this addon
Thanks for sharing!
Hiii) How to make wonderful super car? Can you do tutorial on Blender? thx!
ANNA MARIA on my list!
Thats really hard I'd say, so just start with a normal everyday car
Joanesept yes exactly. The more square the easier. But when using a ‘shrink wrap’ workflow it almost doesn’t matter what shape. Depends on the modeling technique. Also ALL CARS are made in CAD. Not poly modeling. Only games do poly modeling pretty much. Blender is not good for creating car parts.
@@DamianMathew I'll be learn one more soft
Any free alternative for hdri maker?
yes, there is a cgmatter tutorial i think, but I dont know what it is called
me being an idiot modelled my own car
not saying its bad in any way but just not gonna do it again
Hey I am super duper beginner to blender
but my blender is lagging way too much
lets see if i can do this
THANKS FOR THE TUTORIAL
Krrish Babar great you like it! What pc do you have?

AND WHY I HAVE A FEELING THAT U R SUFFERING A LOT DUE TO THE RENT?
Krrish Babar 4GB RAM could still be okay. But NOT GRAPHICS CARD’ haha RIP. Maybe when you scratched up some money you can look for a used GTX 970 GPU gamer PC. They are kind of affordable.
OHK
SO IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO MAKE THIS ANIMATION IN THIS PC😥?

Did you say this model is official from ford?? Where can I find it to download?
You will have to get it from Ford unfortunately.
Raccnoon yes that looks right, didn’t know they had a page for it, thanks for sharing!
@@MapleTree0 Yep.. It's really cool models and modeling. They sell then on turbosquid.com.
How can i make the hdr stop moving when i move the car? im using your hdr from your website i dont have that add on
An hdr is for light. A Dome is a mesh object with a texture.
@@DamianMathew Oh ok

You can find pretty much any model on turbosquid

how do i get car sound for my 3d animation
great tut...what hardware do you use to render..
2080 RTX
Awesome tutorial!! Do you supply scene files on your Patreon top tier?
How to animate a car with exhaust sound?
Basically take the sound of any car video on UA-cam that fits your animation roughly.
@@DamianMathewsmart idea , why I didn't think about it earlier?! Thanks for the tips
@@Octavio_Jorge there’s 2 ways pretty much: record or generate. Generating engine sound usually sounds very bad. Other option is recording it. But if you can’t record it you have to find similar sounds in the internet.
Actually, I got stuck in, while using the blender.
Could you please help me out, I want to know which file extension should I import in blender for rendering,
I've imported the file with .stl extension but it was way too large in size and my laptop hanged itself.
If any solution to this or any other software or methods to perform rendering, please do share, it will be really helpful...
The most common exchange Formant is ‘fbx’. 2. Most common is I’d say ‘obj’ and maybe ‘abc’. ‘Stl’ is one of the worst. Stl is a polygon based manufacturing file basically for 3D printing.
@@DamianMathew though I converted this file to FBX. But file is about 800MB ! Can u plz help me out with the solution (How to compress the file size)
@@himanshupelne4174 there is no compression like jpeg. If the file is 800mb it’s 800mb. Only thing you can do is delete half of the verts, then you should have about 400mb. FBX already is a compressed 3D format. OBJ probably will be bigger
The cars a bit smaller..
Boom!
:D
How do I get the hdrs?
I got the email to your website thats it.
Not sure which one you mean, but yes 5 you'll get on my webpage and more on hdrihaven.com
Bro do you have any full tutorial about blender, am new on it
how did you got the acutal ford model?
from Ford a long time ago.
@@DamianMathew how did u got ford to give you the model
@@Pato-dzn12 If you work with or for a brand, you get all you need, cause if not the project will get unnecessarily expensive.
k tysm
Wow! Holy fuck.
This was pretty fucking dope.
Awesome! :D :D
How do you know its an official Ford model and where can we get it?
Cause I had to sign up and register for it incl. information on why and what I need it for. Most companies will not give anyone the model, unless it is for a project. Hobby work pretty much never is acceptable. Only Ford supports hobby work. Not sure how it is now days but i think there is a page: 3D.Ford.com
Edit: Oh it only links to Turbosquid. Hm yeah then not sure. I got it like 4 years ago or something when ever it was released.
@@DamianMathew thanx! I see
His voice went down when he mentioned HDRI maker. Pls dnt shout, dnt shout, dnt shout.
How you get that mustang from ford itself
You will always get all files needed when working for a car company of course. If your not working for the company, it will be impossible to get the models. But Ford is very cool about their models to kill the black market. You can get Ford models from turbosquid for example but you have to tell them why you need it. Other companies, especially BMW, are very strict about their models and are top secret.
What's your pc configuration? Thank you!
Check under my posts on my channel
My wheels start to wiggle in the rotation axis when I enable motion blur :/
is the car free? if so can u send me the link where i can get it? i have been taking blender car tuts and will see is this works too if u can gimme the car pls!
Use blender kit addon in prefs, there is a few nice free car models on there!
Expensive. Why?
why is the maker paid?
Cosmicweb 08 the hdr maker? It’s not my tool. Not everything can be free on this world.
Is there some free alternative for HDRi Maker?
Where can I get this model?
I can’t give away the Ford model :/ it seams like I’ll make a modeling tutorial soon. Also I am working on a generic car that I can always give away for free.
@@DamianMathew Thanks man. That would be great. ♥️
where will this car get
sparking Dude I don’t understand
@@DamianMathew, I am saying that where did you get that car you animating please tell me

@@DamianMathew so how do I make that animation
sparking Dude 3 options: 1. Get the car form Company 2. Download a car somewhere (turbosquid or blendswap) or 3. Model one
10 minutes for you to lerp a car model from the right side of the screen to the left. 90% of the vid is just setting up the scene, something that should have been done to begin with.
You would be surprised what ages and blender skill levels watch my videos. It’s not easy to be a teacher in a class where anyone can join.

how do you just do that?

5:40 then, it's not a "realistic" car animation tutorial....
MarCuseusFX yes it’s CGI, not real footage.
@@DamianMathew no, title states "realistic" car animation, meaning the amount of wheel spin and all those details should be realistic and not half-assed. That was my point.
other than that, it's a good tutorial. Just not realistic.
MarCuseusFX but does it not look realistic, can you see it not rolling the right speed? It’s always a money question and from experience clients pay the minimum, so you do the minimum of work to achieve the highest quality. You could make a driver running the wheels, but will anyone see a difference? That’s how I usually work, otherwise you will be working for minimum wage haha. I’m am basically always following the 80/20 rule.
I do have a realistic car rig on my video idea list, so it will be coming. Also a realtime one for Unity3D incase your interested. But i think I’ll do some other ones first
@@DamianMathew well, that sounds good :)
