BERMUDA'S famous resident (Johnny Barnes), his message of LOVE

Johnny Barnes, Island of Bermuda - meeting Johnny Barnes (now deceased), a local hero of Bermuda. Let's travel to Bermuda and let's meet John James Randolf Adolphus Mills (June 23, 1923 - July 9, 2016), known as Johnny Barnes, who was a Bermudian native found waving to passing traffic at the Foot of the Lane roundabout in Hamilton, Bermuda, from roughly 3:45 am to 10 am, every workday, rain or shine. A Bermuda institution, Johnny Barnes was mentioned him in several guidebooks of Bermuda and profiled him in 2 documentary films; Johnny Barnes was known for waving and saying "I love you, God loves you," to passing commuters during the morning rush hour into Hamilton. Due to the unique layout of the island and its roads, nearly all drivers at rush hour coming from the western and southern areas of the island passed Barnes at the roundabout.

I have had the luck to meet him, he was 96, making it a habit to remind myself of him every year, his message, the beauty of a soul of a loving human being. God bless him forever :)

This brings back memories from 20 years ago when my family lived in Bermuda. My parents would stop the car and Johnny would shake our hands through the window. We were just 5-10 years old at the time. Thanks for sharing! RIP Johnny Barnes.
