I met George back in his breezin days when he was playing in San Francisco. He was such a down to earth person! I think he was so happy when he made Breezin! He's never lost his roots of playing jazz guitar till this day.
This a great series of videos. I always assume that great musicians are very intelligent but Benson adds quite a bit of historical context of which I was frankly not aware
Ah..nice Wes Montgomery line 1:17 :D
Love this song😍Special treat Benson jamming over it🥇😍❤️🍻
The lines that george was playing in the beginning was solid.he played over the chord changes well.

The greatest guitarist in jazz music history
Can't put Little Georgie above Wes if there is some sort of mythical Jazz "Greatest Ever" list...
@@gerardguitarist Wes Montgomery is sacred territory my friend
Even George says Wes was the best
@@gerardguitarist Wes joe and George no 1,2,3 all brilliant guitarists my favorite players along with Scotty Anderson Lenny breau Roy Buchanan and the great Danny gatton
ummm.. You forgot to add those "three little words".. (or three little letters, for the modern age:) IMO
Obviously, George is right. Michael O’Neil is one tremendous player. Hear him tear it up on a Greg Karukas album.
Jody Fisher is a monster player, and great teacher. If you play, check his educational material out.
Yes release those sound checks please!
Yes
GB's 60 years on the bandstand is his musical education. He couldn't nor wouldn't ever want to play the same solo twice. Or play these quick choruses over rhythm changes the same ever. He doesn't have to think. He is just exploring and listening to what comes out of his soul. As they say, the music is already inside us. We just have to find a way to get it out. Having said that, at the end of the day there are no rights and wrongs while improvising. Just musical expression. But you'd better learn quick about keeping time. Nothing ruins a solo more quickly than a Cat who is out in front of the whole deal. Learn how to keep time boys and girls. Then learn how to stay behind it and keep it in the pocket. Less is usually better...
They clones can never play from themselves what they never experienced in life.
Well said. Time- feel is the key
"My band is a happy band"...

Who is the host?
Visually speaking George is playing his beautiful guitar while Jody Fisher is playing the most buttugly guitar I’ve ever seen.
