    Wanna know more about how Celiac and gluten sensitivity affects people? Or how about more food science. Let us know. PS In case you missed it, we put the link to the bread recipe in the description. It turned out pretty freaking good.

    I'm skeptical about the gluten sensitivity that it's not celiac disease. I've never found reputable studies that seen to confirm it exists and the few people I know who claim to have it shifted to a much healthier diet all together like eating more fruits and vegetables while cutting baked goods and fast food completely. I guess if believing that it's the gluten helps you get healthier it's okay but I'd like to see some scientific consensus on the matter.

      Since I wrote about the people I know claiming it most were self diagnosed, and 1 eventually got a doctor to say they probably have a sensitivity after losing like 20 lbs but the other side of that is they went from 5 nights a week of fast food to my once or twice a month at the same time as well as shifting to diet soda.

      There's a book written by a doctor on the subject. It's certainly not a clinical study but it's far from the conspiracy theory nonsense and it has helped me and my family.
      Here's a google link if you want to check it out: www.google.com.uy/search?ei=FUheWqjkH8ybwATduaDQDw&q=gaps+book&oq=gaps+b&gs_l=psy-ab.3.1.0l10.4984.7540.0.8873.2.2.0.0.0.0.84.145.2.2.0....0...1c.1.64.psy-ab..0.2.145...0i67k1.0.-ii6krOOkmM

      some people say it might have something related to low-fodmap diets making people feel better altogether. that stuff could be placebo too... but overall cutting gluten without proper guidance can cut a lot of nutrients of a diet (no wonder celiacs often have constipation problems in gluten-free diets). also wellness industry can claim anything these days and everyone has their different version of health...

      It's not. Celiac is an autoimmune diease. Where wheat sensitivity is an allgeric reaction. To borderline to serve.

      Look up zonulin together with non-celiac gluten sensitivity (NCGS) and "IBS with diarrhea (IBS-D). When people with celiac disease (CD), NCGS, and IBS-D eat gluten, their bodies produce an excessive amount of the hormone zonulin. Zonulin opens the tight junctions between the epithelial cells if the intestine. Thus, gluten and zonulin cause intestinal permeability (aka leaky gut) and a lot of health problems.
      Sometimes, finding out if you have NCGS takes a long time. It took 10 months if meticulously eating gluten free for me to finally start getting my health back. Over 2 years 4 months, I got rid of 18 health problems, including getting rid of eczema.

  • @DoritoWorldOrder
    @DoritoWorldOrder 2 роки тому +1

    Wrong. Gluten causes observable damage to the gut lining and transient intestinal permeability even in healthy people; people with diagnosable celiac disease have just lost the ability to repair the chronic damage after it occurs and begin to suffer permanent erosion and compromised function of the intestinal epithelium, with a resultant hypersensitivity to the same insult. If the clean binary proposed by "skeptics" of non-celiac gluten sensitivity were true, then there would be no such thing as celiac disease being diagnosed late in life, and you would not see positive therapeutic outcomes for gluten-restricted diets in patients with digestive diseases other than celiac, or in patients with various auto-immune and rheumatic diseases.

    yes, DO worry about gluten, that makes companies make more gluten free stuff and me, who has celiac disease, has a much easier time getting non-gluten alternatives to everyday foods =P the somewhat recent trend with people cutting down on or removing gluten from their food has made the selection on the"gluten free" isle in my local groceries store quadruple over the last 4-5 years =)

      Yeah.. because it makes money off of uneducated people... in the US 3900 suffer fron celiac disease... all of whom are African descent. More humans are lactose intolerant... in fact.. the number is 92000-1.. ninety two THOUSAND. One in 200,300 people have celiac.. not one in 100...

    Good video on the subject, yes Gluten is ok for most people ( I love my bread ) but even though I have no problem with it, does not mean that others may not. bottom line is, if people feel better removing gluten from their diet, it does not matter if they have a real medical condition, or not, it's their choice.

    Any thoughts in the so called "rise in gluten sensitivity" or increasing cases in inflammation diseases like Celiac's? I want to think most are people self-diagnosing incorrectly, but I wonder if cheap factory bread is messing with our microbiomes or something.

    • @robburgess4556

      We've been breeding our wheat to have more gluten. A piece of bread has a lot more gluten in it now than the same sized piece in 1950.

      "They' add WGA =wheat germ agglutinin to vaccines. I think this is the cause of the rise of sensitivity, allergies, etc. Google together: WGA and vaccine

    • @ireallyreallyhategoogle
      @ireallyreallyhategoogle 6 років тому +1

      Isn't there a rise in sensitivities and allergies across the board?
      Why are humans more sensitive and develop more allergies?
      My hypothesis would be environmental. We bath in a pool of chemicals that didn't even exist a hundred years ago. Our bodies haven't had time to adjust to the current environment.

      Look up the hormone zonulin and it's relationship to celiac disease, non-celiac gluten sensitivity and IBS with diarrhea. I expect the drug companies to come out with a test for zonulin in about 3 years, which is about when the drug larazotide acetate will go into clinics call trial level 4.

      Why would people worry about gluten if they didn't notice a problem. Seriously, it is life threatening for some and you and this Video says there is nothing wrong with it? That may be great for you, but not for those having whole sections of their body dying off. How thoughtless of others.

    As a celiac, I have no problem with the gluten-free fad...it has helped make many more GF food options available for us, and also greatly increased public awareness of gluten intolerance!

      There may be as many as 3 million celiacs in the USA. For a long, long time we had little freedom of dietary choice, no labeling laws to alert people to the presence of gluten (not to mention soy, dairy, etc.) in food products, uninformed chefs and restaurants, many undiagnosed sufferers-and very few people gave a damn about any of it. All that has changed. I appreciate the accurate information presented in this video but I and many selfish fellow celiacs are quite appreciative of these changes. If you are not similarly afflicted, count yourself very fortunate, eat what you wish, and kindly don't judge.

    No, not..if you haven't been told by a doctor... I have had problems all my life with gluten things. Did not know it, therefore did not tell the doctor. The only way to know is don't eat it for two weeks and see what happens. At the beginning of me going organic, I only purchased non-gluten products by accident (not to mention organic bread is over $6 for a tiny bricky feeling loaf when regular is $1 and 3x the size). It was days later when I found organic products with gluten in them. My stomach had shrunk by 2/3, I felt alive, and my whole body pain was gone. I thought it was the organic. But...enter organic gluten and immediately swell up, stomach cramping, fatigue, and the whole body pain creeps in again. If a person has lived with this for awhile, how would they know to tell a Dr that something is wrong?

    I think I've seen an online lecture on gluten where they said that gluten contributes actively to the body fat forming. If this is true, would it still be ok to say that it's objectively not bad?

      All non animal proteins are stored and processed after any consumed animal proteins. The human digestive tract is not designed for a high vegetable diet. Literally bugs, fruit, fish, and scavenged red meat. Our brains got so big from fatty and high protein intake. Insects, fish, and our use of tools to break bone and Consume marrow and....... brain matter... because that was all that was left. 3 ft tall australiopithicus could never kill.. just scavenge

    NCGS could actually have more to do with ATIs, proteines that keep your digestive enzymes from working properly (which are found in grains that also contain gluten, funny enough). In combination with gluten the effects are most severe. So it's rather NCWS (non celiac wheat sensitivity). But it doesn't make that much of a difference, go gluten free and you'll be fine.
    By the way, you can get this from eating waaaaay too much grains, it seems. I'm sure that's why I have it.
    BUT DON'T SIMPLY TRUST A DOCTOR ON THIS, THEY HAVE NO IDEA
    I've had symptoms for more than ten years, and all they gave me were gut bacteria and detox-stuff. I went to many different doctors, but in the end I found out myself, and I am finally able to eat without excruciating pain. Yay.

    So this video is promoting dried fruits and saying gluten doesn't even cause constipation and gas for most people? What a useless video. Yes a lot of people are fine with gluten but they won't realize they weren't fine because they get used to gluten-related issues. A lot of people get used to gas and diarrhea and other digestive problems but they don't know that gluten maybe to blame. While it does mention some gluten issues it makes it seem like it is not a big deal. More people suffer from gluten related issues than you think.
