This is probably the biggest surprise of the Xbox showcase that is not related to anything to Xbox, a sequel, new entry or remake, all we know is this a new IP from a new studio, but this game already is made and done with passion of people who love JRPG, yes it is a big gamble this game is TURN BASED, but man i loved EVERYTHING about it. And now one of my anticipated games. Also the narrator "Babygirl" Ben Starr or better know as Clive from last years FF16 so we getting another great performance
I'm so hyped for this game. Absolutely stunning, amazing concept for a story, visuals are extremely beautiful, and a western style Persona turned based game, music that's reminiscent to Nier and Code Vein, with real time reactions. Gimme.
I literally just heard about this game two days ago as I was browsing Steam, I immediately wishlisted it after watching this trailer. Cool to see you two react to it so quickly.
It looks pretty damn interesting to me, and I love the action-turn-based hybrid gameplay that the trailer shows.

Coolest thing about this is when the trailer ended and in the corner it said gamepass!
It really gives me Xenoblade Chronicles 3 vibes and it is very high stakes because your age can indeed be the number that the Paintress paints on the canvas and your time is up at the very moment and imagine being Thanos snapped year after year
Pretty hyped for the game myself, and the song ... Une Vie A Peindre ... it's such an absolute banger. The singer of Bury The Light, Victor Borba is the male vocalist here too.

This seriously reminds me of an old xbox classic called Lost Odyssey.. The super niche, turn based jrpg, although I believe this is a European team? So excited for this.. You never see titles like this get released anymore, so it's super unique!
You are correct, Lost Odyssey must have been one of their main inspirations (and older Final Fantasy games/other JRPGs). The team is French - hence the French Belle Époque aesthetic. I'm looking forward to it, especially with the multiplatform release!

The game that impressed me the most from this slew of new games revealed this summer. Right up my alley. Also the combat is looking to be turn based with button prompts, similar in a way to South Park Stick of Truth; if I had to compare it to something you're familiar with.
Ah okay. Stick of Truth was doable for us so hopefully this is a game we can play 🙂
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames One thing I couldn't help but notice is that those timings seemed to be tied to the music. Not sure if it's just the trailer, but the game might have rhythm game kinda aspect to it. Which only makes it easier to get the timing right... well as long as you learn to make use of the rhyme to get timings right.
As a long time jrpg fan this is the kind of game the genre needs. Hoping it lives up to expectations. I would say mine are tame but when you have ben starr as part of the cast it's like how could it not be good?
I like to imagine if this goes to have tons of sequels like final fantasy, then in a few decades the game will be called expedition 5 and you'll play as a 5 year old 🙂

I miss the old final fantasy games and old RPGs, I really want this game to succeed so that square enix can see that it can still be done with modem graphics (they said it couldn't be done), and like you said the concept is so fascinating, I really want the game to be as captivating all the way through. I could use another slam dunk rpg in my life, they don't come around often anymore like they did in the late 90's to early 2000's.

As far as I understand, between the exploration parts in the game, the combat is turn based, like in Persona (there may also be a timing aspect in the turn based combat). So it will take more strategy than reflexes to play this game. That is very appealing to me as I can relax and play at my own pace for once.
Also like strategy more than reflexes. Building characters and controlling the battlefield is fun, especially with slow reflexes like we have haha. 🤗

As a turned based RPG enjoyer. We havent had a turned based rpg game in a while. Kinda a dying genre outside of persona. This is definitely a day 1 purchase for me
Yeah I also enjoy turn based and strategy. Sure fights may take an hour as I overthink things but it’s so much fun 🤩
