Thanks for mentioning our HDB BTO is not hard-wired...im searching for a comoatible transformer/ power plug for my TP Link Tapo D235...any pointers/ links u can provide?
@iwaderiwadi5068 wah cheem a bit hard to explain in a video cos I don't have a setup to demo. I'm not sure the capacity of the wires. But since there are 2 I'm sure they can carry a low voltage ac or dc
Hi when I use the plier to test the connector, there's isn't any sound on the bell, but there's sparks, same layout as yours, top and bottom left row. Is my bell spoil?
Thanks for the speedy replies bro! No wonder I thought my connection was wrong all along. May I know where did u get this bell, as mine looks exactly same as yours
So all wired doorbell needs a battery, right? How long does the battery last? Nowadays there's doorbell that doesn't require battery. Just plugged into power socket. Are they good?
Thanks for the vid. Was looking at this traditional door bell n reusing the given existing hdb door bell switch instead of the current digital ones with transmitter. Is it possible to use strong tape instead of drilling? Do i hv to do anything to the switch outside?
Great video! Very informative for people to do simple diy. Suggesting to do a water heater wiring check video?? ( i dont recommend novice doing the change themselves but how to check if everything is in order) I believe it will be very informative for the general public especially after the report on the water heater incident.
Jordan Bro, (i'm from SG Home DIY fb group - the one who said you must say when you're joking), why must Doorbell Receiver be mounted near ceiling? I saw my Britz Doorbell manual said must be 1.8metres high, but no reason given. Can I connect 2 wires to extend it to much lower height, so that I can see it clearly to troubleshoot? I guess battery contact points turned rusty after many years, need to clean. Any special way to connect the wires? Many Thanks!
Hello! That's a funny instruction! I have one doorbell hidden under a foot cabinet and it still works! And yes you can bring the doorbell down but I have changed my batteries once every 3 years so there is no reason you need to have it so low. Remember 3 years ago? That's when we were all locked down
@@ThePunggolHandyMan Ok great! Then, how to connect the extension wires ~ buy any type of wire connectors? Just find any 2 wires & just connect? Sorry i can't find anyone actually did such an extension, so must ask you for expert advice. Many thanks for your quick reply, Jordan Bro!
Noob question, but I am having trouble finding an analog/mechanical doorbell for my place. Tried online and also a few hardware stores already. Can you please share where you got yours? Appreciate the help.
Do you have anyone or video about fixing the HDB doorbell switch, next to the gate door...I notice that diy shops sell their switch size slightly smaller than the actual one that HDB provide...Do you know where we can get the one originally from HDB BTO flat door bell switch?
Hi. I already installed the doorbell inside kitchen. Tested and works fine. But the doorbell switch outside gate just doesnt work when pressed. What is the cause?
Just to check with u I wish to remove my HDB door bell and swap to a light bulb for my prayer alter and make the on/off switch inside my house .is it possible for me to use the door bell wire cables?
Bro, my door sudden do not work. Suspect could be the door bell problem, after changed new but still do not work. So I changed the switch outside my gate also, but still do not work. What do you suspect and advise? Thanks!
ah...so that the mystery small circular white cover. HDB Virtual Tour cannot zoom in enough to see the label. OK! will get a Wired Door Bell before Key collection! thanks!
Not really lol! But the concept is the same the fire alarm door bell is activated using a solenoid which has 2 trigger points. It is then powered by a couple of D cell batteries..
haiya i didnt know there's a battery in there! and i didnt know the wires are not live! thanks for this bro! will fix mine soon! im a handyman but my weakness is wiring / electricals
