Still prefer the F90 in terms of looks, but I’m certain the G90 will grow on me over time. Saw one IRL; definitely looks way better in person than in video.
F90 & G90 are both impressive cars in their own right. I look forward to what the G90 will bring to the table. However there is no way they can escape the massive weight gain with the new generation.
They ran a test n the g90 is actually quicker , not by a huge margin but it's definitely quicker, the hybrid system makes it more efficient and gives it more power. Bmw were very conservative with the stats number
Hey CarGuy thanks for sharing this video, I am sure many of us F90 owners are wondering what the new generation is like from a M5 owner's perspective. Truthfully, I would never ever trade up my F90 for G90. I feel G90 is cheap in its design. The grill looks incomplete and rushed, it doesn't have luxury that F90 has. Like the soft closing doors, or stitching on the dash. It's slower from standstill. It's also 1/4 heavier. I dunno about you but I'm very happy to be apart of the F90 owners club. I felt like 2 years ago me made the best decision ever. G90 owners have my condolences. Hopefully they make a Competition version with all the issues addressed. Thanks again for doing homework for us F90 owners!
You're welcome! I appreciate you checking the channel out. They say the new G90 is heavier and slower in stock form and I'm looking forward to racing one. I wasn't fond that they ditched the soft close doors and to open the back doors it requires you to hit the unlock button vs the F90 you can just walk up and open it if you have the key on you. First impressions the interior felt like newer BMW's but I don't like the buttons don't have a distinct click to them. You push them and there isn't any feedback. My F90 isn't going anywhere anytime soon. It's one of the best BMW's I've owned and can't even think of a car that can replace it.
I have a f90 as well and ordered the g90 some little things about the f90 I am going to miss the soft close doors is definitely one of them but another one nobody seems to talk about is the adjustability of the back on the f90 your able to tilt the top half forward to sit so perfectly and on the g90 you can’t for some reason. And the gear selector why on gods green earth did they have to change that. Other than that I really liked the g90
The F90 does look better to me as well. However the G90 has aggressive looks and will look great once its lowered with spacers or a set of aftermarket wheels. How can I get in touch with you when the CS version comes out?
Hate to say it but side by side the new one looks better. Love that widebody boss presence to it. Makes the old one look like an M light. 😂😂 but seriously both gorgeous cars. It really is hard to tell the f90 gen apart from a m550i.
The G90 definitely has a beefier look to it and it shows it's heft on the scales. That is one great change BMW did was give the M5 some hips. In all the right places of course. 😉
I think the G90's design is comparable to a modern-day E60. I remember back then people trashed the E60 for being bigger, heavier and uglier than the E39, which was considered sports sedan perfection (sound familiar?). As for the hybrid aspect, I do wish BMW did for the M5 what they're about to do for the next M3, which is to offer both a petrol+mild hybrid model and a separate EV model. The EV model would lower BMW's overall fleet emissions and allow the M5 name to take the fight to other large EVs such as the Model S Plaid and Taycan Turbo, while the lighter petrol model continues to satisfy the traditional petrolhead. It's not the ideal solution, but it's one that is preferable to what BMW actually came up with.
It is similar to a modern day E60 but it’s not slightly heavier and larger it’s over 1/2 a ton heavier. Really isn’t the same car at this point. BMW has ruined the lineage of the M5 with this new model. The more I think about it I wish they scrapped the whole hybrid setup completely and just had 700HP+ in a car that weighs about the same as the F90
@@carguy302 I think we both know under EU emission laws, that's not gonna happen. That being said, at least BMW didn't ditch the V8 altogether like Mercedes did with the E63. Turbo Inline 6s are great and all (as your M3 CS demonstrates), but for a car that historically always carried a V8, it's not a good enough replacement.
I'm sorry but side by side (from the rear especially) the F90 looks more aggressive, more timelessly aesthetic and just has more class. The new one looks cool but it gets out classed looks wise by your F90. An F90 comp like yours with a tuned exhaust makes the new G90 feel mute and lame. Thems the facts.

My g90 is in production to replace my f90 sure the weight is crazy but majority of f90 owners like myself aren’t buying an m5 for its track ability because if that’s what we’re after the M2/3/4 would’ve been the option to go with
Congrats on your new G90! Cool car for sure but a deviation from the M cars from yesteryear. The fact they are being offered with a discount already is the writing on the wall. Guess time will tell.
I like it as well. Not a fan of the weight or the hybrid set up. In my opinion it was unnecessary and they could have similar performance with just an ICE engine
Demised the mark in this one with the additional weight. Other than that the car is good. Releasing a new design every year isn’t possible from a financial standpoint.
That’s a great question & would’ve preferred if BMW went that route. The weight & hybrid system are the biggest negatives in my opinion. Should’ve have been 700HP+ on a traditional TT V8
Seems like BMW took some styling cues from the M2. Stock for stock the F90 looks better. G90 needs a full aero kit, lowering and wheels to look right. At the end of the day these are specialty cars and enthusiasts typicially dont want something thats insanely heavy
I agree 💯 BMW finally gave the M5 some hips and I’m thankful for it. The additional weight is not well received or needed. Why on earth they made it a hybrid is beyond me.
The new one looks way better. Especially side by side. I always thought the new one looked better and this video really sealed the deal. The new one is the one for me!!

Thanks you! You’re absolutely right. Too much tech and for no reason. The more tech a car has especially hybrid etc they become like a cell phone and age quickly. Soon to be replaced and forgotten.
The G90 is quicker than the F90. Whoever has told you otherwise, is wrong. I do really like the rear end on the F90, I think that is the more aggressive out of the two. However, like someone has said. You can definitely see how the F90 looks dated now - I think the rear end doesn't, but the front end shows it dated. The G90 front is really nice, the rear - It's bland, doesn't say "Im in an M5" sorta vibe.
From what I can gather and my personal experience experiences the G90 is SLOWER. My F90 ran a best time of 10.6@130mph and the G90 has yet to perform to that level. The new generation of the M5 decorates the F90 but in my opinion highlights how great the F90 looks and is in line with traditional BMW styling Both great choices
@@carguy302Yours is the Comp. But I bet the G90 would be much quicker 62 to 125mph. The big deal, aside performance… is the zero fuel consumption on the daily commute. Big change for M cars! ✌🏻
I was contemplating it but would regret it for sure. The G90 is quick but not sure if it will beat the F90 in stock form. My F90 ran 10.6@130mph 100% stock. Haven’t seen a G90 do that yet
F90 better figures and better track performer for sure. G90 for the road presence for the older rich guys who will buy this to show off to the guys at the golf club and their 30's golddiggers.
F90 is definitely the better performer with more potential because it is so much lighter. I wouldn’t be able to track the G90 at NJMP because they don’t allow hybrids or full electric on the road course. This new M5 is definitely going to cater to a new buyer.
Your F90 is slower than the G90 in stock form... F90 is still an overall better looking car in stock form though... can wait till all these F90 drop in price.
My F90 ran 10.6@130mph and is 100% stock. The G90 has not run that fast and probably won’t considering it’s over 1,000lbs heavier. Both look fantastic and I don’t anticipate the F90’s dropping too quickly considering the G90 hasn’t been a big hit yet and they are already being offered with a discount.
@carguy302 they have videos already proving the new is faster in a staight line. But I could care less which is faster, I wouldn't be able to afford or want the depreciation of BMW cars.
G90 looks like the little brother to the XM. Both are ugly. F90 looks like a sports sedan. Throttle House raced them, and the G90 easily beat the F90 from stand still and rolling.
Some of these side by side runs comes down to the driver and familiarity with the car. I haven’t seen a G90 run faster than my stock F90. Best time is 10.6@130mph

Great video. B&W sound now standard on the G90? I don’t like the interior lighting on the new bmws. I have a 24 X6 also and the interior lighting at night is 😒. Prefer the pinstripe interior lighting on the f90. Just saw the g90 at Scottsdale Barrett Jackson displays. Saw the sedan and wagon. Look great. Thank you! You’re correct…the B&W is now standard. I agree the new tech and lighting is a bit much on the new M5. The exterior design is good but the drivetrain is my biggest dislike. I noticed the one I reviewed is still for sale. When a new M model isn’t selling quickly there is a problem. I do have an IG but not active on it but plan on using it more this year.

Definitely looks husky. It’s unfortunate they didn’t offer it with a V10. because that would’ve been a massive hit vs this hybrid stuff.
G90 definitely better all day time to trade urs in brotha lol and g90 quicker foresuree 😅
I was contemplating it but would regret it for sure. The G90 is quick but not sure if it will beat the F90 in stock form. My F90 ran 10.6@130mph 100% stock. Haven’t seen a G90 do that yet

@@carguy302 1000 pounds heavier over 100 more hp and still beats the old one in the 1/4 and on the roll proved on throttle house so there ya have it
F90 better figures and better track performer for sure.
@@carguy302 That's fine for me but they should have called it stg else then, maybe a 6Me (hybrid) or stg like that.
G90 all the way, she is even more beautiful with m performance parts. I love it! ❤❤
Great video!! 👍
Thank you! G90 has a lot of potential and I look forward to what the future holds for this new platform.
F 90 much better and G90 has a aggressive appearance but that f90 all the way
🙌🏼💯
Its got the new v8 from Dyson
😆😂😆
F90 KING 👿
Yes it is! F90 is hard to beat.
Gas guzzler tax 😂
That is too funny! Really emphasize’s how useless the hybrid system is for fuel efficiency.
Какой ужас! Она же больше чем 7 серия G11! Зачем?! Что за гигантизм?! 😮😮
I agree! Doesn’t make sense that it is over 1,000 lbs heavier
It’s sooooo much bigger. Jee wizz.
It sure is. I was surprised how much larger it looked in person.
F90❤
I agree! F90 is 👑
I prefer the f90 M5
Me too…I love my F90 and don’t foresee myself selling it to live to a G90.
G90 all day
No wrong choices with these 2 cars 💯
F90 is just too boring looking… even inside it’s not great at all
Appreciate your input. The looks on the G90 are on point.
G90 rear end looks like a Toyota Camry while the front looks like a fake GTA car 🤢🤮👎
😆🤣😆…That’s one way to describe it!
F92 best current car no question
The M8 is a gorgeous car. Definitely a looker.
G90 looks more badass
Appreciate your opinion! 💯 It does look aggressive
Old one looks very dated.
When compared side by side you can see it is the previous generation but I wouldn't say it looks dated. I would say traditional or possibly classic. 😉
@ Especially in the rear. Front still looks good.
Agreed
To me the new one looks like a much more dated design than f90.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
🙌🏼💯😎
G90 looks like the little brother to the XM. Both are ugly. F90 looks like a sports sedan. Throttle House raced them, and the G90 easily beat the F90 from stand still and rolling.
Some of these side by side runs comes down to the driver and familiarity with the car. I haven’t seen a G90 run faster than my stock F90. Best time is 10.6@130mph
@carguy302 check out their video. It wasn't even close.
G90 is quicker it even hit 60mph in 3.1 sec
Yeah but that was w a pre Lci f90 which is slower than LCI

G90 MY FRIEND AND TWICE ON SUNDAY!!😉🤗🥰👌☕️
No wrong choices with these cars! Both great options. 💯
😮
👀🙌🏼
F90 100%
Yes sir! 🙌🏼 F90 x 1000 since it weighs over a thousand pounds less. 😆😉
Look great. Lots and lots and lots of leaves gonna collect in that g90 bottom intake 😂
Car guy do u have IG?
F90 lowered ??
Yes it is. KW H.A.S
F90 is tuned while g90 is completely stock, not fair comparison
My F90 is not tuned. Not sure wheee you got that from.
No i mean in terms of look ( wheels, springs etc )
@@kidnapthemoneyy01yea there some tweaks there
