That chorus was lush!
I have one of these, but I can't figure out how to get a constant volume level across all of my patches. I always have some patches that are a lot quieter than others. What am I doing wrong? I hate to have to sell this thing but at the moment it's not on my board at all until I can figure this out.
Delay/reverb spill-over and Midi in, and it would be really cool. Now it's just ok, I guess.
can it do midi switching like a midi controller pedal, like the ones used with engl amp for instance. my idea is, midi switch the amp with it's option but also having to put certain pedals on top of it under the same button. comon problem is i think, a overdrive on the rythm setting and switching it of when on clean with the press of a button.
Hi do you have a sketch of the routing of your pedal board? I have the same expression and volume pedals but find it a little difficult to route it in to the MS3?
Sorry Bjorn, that video is a couple of years old so we don't have the routing information anymore. I'll see if we can dig anything up for you though.
Will it turn my signal digital on the input or just when I use a digital effect inside?
Handsoffmatt Thanks for your help. I'm impressed and sad about this product. I was an advanced gt user. Then I invested on the ES -8 and analog pedals. But I miss some digital effects and the parameters assignment on the Gt. ... and a simpler solution just to travel.... And then... THIS THING DOESN'T HAVE MIDI IN. It isn't an H9 or M9 competitor just because of this. It would be a perfect add to the ES-8...
Does it have connection for the amp Fx loop so I can use the amp’s overdrive before the ms3 delay/reverb?
Marcelo Sacco you can use one of the loops on the ms3 and do the 4cm
Yeah, top man, please help me, does the AC adapter work flexiv? 50-60Hz (110V / 220V)?
Could you clarify what you mean by 'flexiv?' The MS-3 is powered with the BOSS PSB power supply.
This is exactly what i needed but with carry on function within the loops. Any suggestions?
The Boss ES-5 / ES-8 units feature carryover function in the audio loops, but of course have no internal FX like the MS3 does.
Hi in minute 6:27 how do you asign the rotary speed with the expression pedal, cause the only thing i can asign to the expression pedal is super bend, volume, and wha, i will apreciate the help thanks
I downloaded the Owners Manual from Roland and page 12 deals with assigning controllers to effects.
Hi where di you get the actual pedal board from?
Hi cj,
The pedalboard was custom made and wired by the very friendly Jack Hudson at JH Productions. They can be contacted here:

We've had lots of good feedback on his very impressive work!
Cheers
Does the on-board delay have spillover when changing presets?
Then it's completely unusable.
Dissapointed, I would have got one, I have the es-5, they already have the technology but decided to leave it out, would have been perfect.
The technology for spillover for analog relay-based switching (using mixers) is actually quiet different from digital spillover

Hello, can I use the output direct to a mixer? Is there a cab simulator? thanks!
There are no amp sims or cab sims in the MS-3. It is designed to be used in conjunction with a guitar amp.
Can this unit can be connected into a mixer directly or a direct box is needed, Thanks
There’s no reason that you can’t connect the MS-3 directly to a mixer - though a direct box is always recommended to avoid noise or ground issues.
MegaMusicOnline Thanks for the information, I'm thinking about getting the boss ms3 but since doesn't have amp and cab simulation wasn't sure if this can be connected to the mixer in a live situation!
Maybe you can use an amp simulation pedal like tech 21 or the likes and put it in one the loops(loop 2 or 3 maybe) that's what I'm planning to do when i get mine. 😉
is the switcher designed for unity gain and is there a bypass mode?
Yes, the audio loops are all at unity gain (not adjustable). Yes, there is a BYPASS mode. It is one of the options for the TUNER. (i.e. the Tuner can be set for MUTE, THRU or BYPASS)
....is there a reason why no one - and i do mean no one - ever demos the internal dirt/overdrive/distortion/fuzz tones?
I think it's fair to acknowledge that drive sounds are pretty personal, possibly more so than other more generic sounds like delay and chorus. The MS-3 gives you the freedom to go right ahead and use other pedals to complement the internal Boss effects. They aren't crying into their pillows if you don't like their internal overdrive sounds would be our guess, in fact, we'd suspect they entirely anticipated that in the concept. That said, a lot of people do like Boss distortions, and their pedals are still popular.
...actually, i did have an opportunity to spend a few days trying the compression and the dirt settings in this device. very, very impressive. i would have no problem whatsoever relying entirely on the internal sounds for compression and dirt.
Good to hear, like I said, the Boss distortions do stand up in their own right. I think there's a point to make in your comment - that you spent time working on it. A tweak here and there with guitars and effects can generate some pleasing results.
Can it handle switching on the Boss katakana amp?
Yes it can. Via the CTL OUT jacks, the MS-3 can switch between TONE SETTING 1 and 2 on any Katana amp.
When paired with the Katana HEAD (which features a MIDI IN port) the MS-3 can switch between all 4 TONE SETTINGS, as well as turn the Katana’s 3 individual FX engines on and off.
Good lord what is going on with the volume and eq from your room mic!?
Fair comment - it's a step up from a camera phone review, but we didn't do this in a recording studio, just a basic hall with a Rode NT-1A so you can basically hear what the MS-3 does.
To be fair, the guitar parts are fine. The chops and changes when the guys are talking are a massive distraction though. Other than that it was a helpful review. I just bought one over the weekend and I'm stoked! Hopefully a bit of constructive criticism for you guys to work with 👍

MegaMusicOnline Gracias por responder!!!

Built in looper?
Hi Pablo,
The MS-3 doesn't have a built in looper.
Cheers
Hi would a looper take up one of the 3 external loops or can it stand alone separate? Cheers
A looper can be separeted.
re: Looper... Would I be able to use, for example, 2 DigiTech JamMan Express XT's to allow parallel looping and do various pre and post loop FX. All within the box with no cable swapping?
I always get sold on these and then i can't adjust effects on the fly at the gig. I have to stop watching these videos.
