  • Changing out the rear brake pads along with the rear brake rotors..don't cheap out and change the pads only, it will never stop properly..you will need a special tool to push the rear caliper pistons in, you can buy it or rent it from your local @Autozone.com
    there is a part 2

    A "C clamp will also do the job

      C clamp won't spin the piston in on this set up with the parking brake mechanism..you need to show me proof with a video

      @@alyoungcuda question for you, if you can aid please. My ebrake doesnt work. I push it n i hear it click, i can actually push pedal and hear 3 clicks. Inspection said its not stopping car. That i need to use it more. Or tighten it. Im no expert, but i dont think my ford 500 self adjusts with parking brake. I think it maybe just warn down brake pads. Tell, me does a ford 5p0 have brake shoes? And an ebrake adjuster u use a screwdriver to click down or no? What would you suggest to fix? I pushed the dbrake like 10 times. Ive been using it everytime i park. I also drove backwards at 15 mph and pushed foot brake, i heard that can fix a seized rear brake. I just want the ebrake to work :(

      @@c.518 your e brake is cable operated, when you step on it it clicks which locks it down. It pulls on the cable which in turn pulls on the cables attached to both rear calipers. You need to pull both wheels off and have someone step on the e brake while you look to see if the cables are pulling on the calipers in the rear. Thats the 1st thing you need to check to see if you have movement in the rear and of course you need to see if you have brake pad material and are they close to the rotors both the inside and outside pads should be touching the rotor like brakes on a bicycle

    15mm did not fit

    • @alyoungcuda
      @alyoungcuda  2 роки тому +1

      Just happen to have the car here today..15mm for the bolts going to the caliper bracket to the knuckle and its 15mm for the wrench to hold the slider that the 13mm caliper bolts screw into..I think you got it wrong or your wrench is too fat to slide down past the slider bolt washer..and of course unless your car is original and can prove its never been worked on from someone else, the bolts could have been changed..but I stand corrected on this Original Owner Car..Enjoy..
