Keep on reading! PS - are you using a different light source? The picture is blown out.

Bentley Little's novels are always over the top, but Death Instinct is by far the most violent, messed up novel he's written, as far as I know. Having read The Store, The House, and The Resort before I picked it up, I thought I knew what I was getting into, but Death Instinct is a genuinely twisted novel. I read it seven or eight years ago and I still remember some of the scenes vividly.
I don't always like or enjoy Little's novels, but I love the way he writes whatever he wants, no matter how twisted, horrific, or outrageous his stories may be, with no concern whatsoever for what people may think of him or his writing. It's a rare and wonderful quality in a writer - in anyone, really - to be so fearless.

I agree but I tend to enjoy more of his books prior 2010.

@@civoreb I'm not sure if I've read any of his books published after 2008 or so. His plots were getting pretty repetitive, though. Did his work go downhill?

@@MustReadMore I have tried 4 books written from 2010 and on and they were all 100 pages too long with a little too much meandering. His 90’s and early 00’s attempts were a little more tightly written. I read 4 from those two decades as well. I have not read the ones you mentioned.
