    I got the Huananzhi x99-QD4 and it is a great little X99 motherboard. Running a 2680v3 currently, without TB mod. It is very stable and has all I need.

      what games are you playing?
      i would still go for turbo unlock and undervolting for Alan Wake, Lies of P, Elden Ring, TLOU, plague tales etc.
      These games need frequency to maintain minimum 75 fps ultra settings native(no dlss/xss/fsr)

    i appreciate that you are recommending v4 cpus more often. People who buys x99 motherboards usually goes with cheap computer cases and some does not even bother with the fans just to save for a better gpu. Even though the e5-2697v3 is a very good deal today, i would still go for e5-2690v4 or e5-2696v4. The vrm is the only problem most of the users are facing.

    Love these boards. Just built one of these with a i7 5820k and Vega 64. I think im gonna download and put your bios in. Not 100% sure but i think this i7 might need a little boost to keep up with the Vega 64.

    I have a question.
    I'm using a pc with an i7-5960x on a huananzhi x99-8m-f motherboard.
    I want to upgrade my CPU and use a xeon e5 2698v3 with turbo unlocked.
    In this case, is it better to upgrade the motherboard?
    I would like to know the recommended microatx motherboard in that case.

    • @Miyconst
      @Miyconst  4 місяці тому

      Yes, motherboard replacement would he good but I can't recommend any immediate mATX replacement, only ATX. So, I would just ensure good VRM cooling and use X99-8M-F until it dies.

      tbh@@Miyconst - much better thing in my opinion
      since replacing m2 wifi modules seems - at least in my opinion - more open for end user
      you can just buy a module if you want and replace just like a drive, you want to jump from WiFi 6 to WiFi 6E or maybe WiFi 7 in a near future? No need to wait for overpriced PCIE cards, just get a small module and poof :D
      amazing thing

    I used this motherboard in my GF pc. I put 2x40mm fans on the VRM heatsink, and a Hyper212 as the cpu cooler, and the case is the CS-109 from aerocool with 3 fans for great airflow. The cpu i used was the E5-2690v3 with turbo unlovk and the back of the motherboard in this pc didnt get to 60°c(was around 55~ on behind the VRM) and around the cpu socket 50°c. However the cpu is limited to 3.4ghz if i remember.
    And recelty testing the board with a 2697v3 which is also capped to 3.4ghz on this board. Still great performance for the price.
    My gf has a GTX 1070 in her build and in mine i got a RTX 3070

    I have turbo boosted a Xeon 2680V3 base 2.5Ghz turbo 3.3Ghz on a Qiyida motherbase. What is calling my attention, is that most of the time, looking at CPU task manager the actual frequency is about 1.23Ghz, is that normal? I know that using CPUID stress bench the CPU frequency goes to the maximum 3.3 Ghz, but under normal usage the frequency goes below base value, is there an explanation for that?

    • @Miyconst
      @Miyconst  2 місяці тому

      That's normal, it's a power saving feature, if there is nothing to do, the CPU clocks itself down.

    How bad has machinist gone, once at least it was trying to do something meaningful, now it's just cloning some other Chinese boards (Huananzhi, who seems like the one company that's doing something decent on the x99 line), and piggybacking on other companies and people's bioses, doing worse board at the same price of originals.... What a shame

    • @Miyconst
