Compared to the 7" Black Hawk X20, the X70 is a whole lot better. I'm okay with the X70. My only only gripes are that it has no L2 or R2 buttons, somewhat annoying viewing angles and there's no option to swap ISO's when playing the PS1 emulator. Basically the possibility of playing either Final Fantasy VII or Metal Gear Solid on the go isn't very promising. I read how the console's OS is a Linux distro of some sort. So there is a chance of a custom firmware.
I purchased one, cause I wanted to be there,I'm wrapped with it find it of a comparative quality of the more expensive brands,with all the bells and whistles,but the price is terrific

Just bought one of these. Very satisfied with it. Adding some games, and cant get it to show in the menu, so I am here!
Your search is case-sensitive! I found this out through trial and error. Also, as I mentioned above, once you add games, the system doesn't automatically detect them. I am "Sync Media Playlist" right now, and maybe that will fix this issue. Will report on findings.

Smell is far more important than performance- what if what you’re smelling while playing is toxic? Fairy certain they have no shortage of toxins where produced.
You sound like you work for another company in competition because these devices are actually nice if you really used to play the games on the device. It’s childhood experiences that really make these devices nice.
If there would be one single guy working at a company like this, who is only 25% as passionate and determinate like we are, the product would already be near perfect, but seeing this makes me really angry. Horrible device.
At the same time if it shipped with halfway decent original games and skipped on the emulators+roms… Or they just worked on targeting a single system and it’s better games.
You pay trash money you get bad device as simple as that. Stop crying. This is great for the price.
@@tanura5830 Except reality doesn’t work that say. More like if a company consistently makes bad devices, then you should know better than to expect the next thing they make to be any better. The retail price of the product is secondary at best to the manufacturers motives. - Doesn’t mean you can’t wish they’d cut a few less corners. - Honestly I’m positive that most of these devices are just repurposed surplus parts that would be just be dead weight in a warehouse otherwise.

Vid okay. The handheld seems good for the price. It's obviously not going to have great performance for under 60 bucks... But this is your opinion. Hopefully others will remember that... Make your own conclusions, who cares how much this guy says "hate" and "garbage" watch his other vids, he doesn't like much.

This is a Powkiddy X2 2nd gen in black. Like, for real.
Not really, but its like they took the. X2,gave it a worse screen, weaker cpu and less ram and made it cheaper and crappier.
I just got this model in Temu for $22.49 plus tax. For that price just to play around some classic games it’s not bad at all.
It came with a 64G card also.

I overpaid...from a another 3rd party.
They obviously used the X2 shell but made everything else worse.
A crappier screen, weaker cpu and less RAM than the X2 as well.
The only thing better on the X70 is the color (I really hate those blue red versions) and it has no Powkiddy logo on the front. Thats it. Those are its better points.
So they took the X2 and made a cheaper crappier version lol.
I mean the X2 already wasnt exactly expensive so we already have that.
What they should have done is kept the IPS screen of the X2,kept the cpu and higher ram and added stacked shoulder buttons from the X51.
That would have made a decent cheapish 7" handheld. But no, instead they made this, I guess cause overall cheaper devices sell more 🤔
Got one the other day for my disabled brother he is not concerned with much really and for what I paid I'm quite happy

@@fonzitheman I was indeed inserted new formatted SD card and added one new ROM in each holder for each system and it completely wiped all the old games and yes out each game into its own folder with the same name and the image also renamed with the same name and the image put into a images folders in same folder as the ROMs
Works a treat its nothing special but it's perfect for a throw away console

Get this when its at flash sale for 59 usd, for 59 usd its pretty decent.
So it looks to be like the same kind of device as those labeled X6, X12, X19, MP5, RS-08, and some types of the Coolbaby...I recognized this mostly after seeing that in game menu with resume, load state, settings, etc...that was what tipped me off. This seems to be a slightly improved version of those consoles, with a revamped menu design.
I personally don't think this looked so bad, at least compared to them. GBA performance is better (audio channels used to be desynchronized), though the audio lag sucks. The HDMI looked all right; some of the older models had one too, but it ran at only 720p while showing quality of 480p natively. Still didn't look bad though. I think it might have looked at least as good here, if not improved. Hard to tell.
And the dpad is better; it might be squishy here, but it at least is one whole thing rather than individual buttons (which I never minded much myself as long as they were big enough).
I wish we had seen some media functionality (how well does it show and skim through photos, how well does video work and what is the max resolution supported / usable before the device can't handle it). On the older models so far, it's gone up to 720p (1080p does not even work, you just get a file error), and while 60fps does technically play, it's slow and stuttery unless playing a video at maybe 360p or less.
And if SNES games still run more slowly than they should in any case, my old solution was to use the European roms instead of the USA roms, since those were designed for a 50Hz console and would have a 20% speed boost on these things. Or it might be a 16.66% boost. Not sure which. But it made games like Super Metroid work great; faster introduction, fast pause menu transitions, fast door transitions, fast item collection fanfare, only problem is that there's a slight (but bearable) frameskip. Otherwise, when playing the actual game, the speed is entirely correct for Samus, but enemies move a little slower (this is what the European rom natively does, it isn't a fault of the emulator on the system). Similar effects for the DKC series too, normal speed gameplay but fast menus. Sometimes it's annoying having menus and maps sped up, but if you're just trying to get into the game, it's a nice side effect even if unintentional.
Yeah, if you know what to expect, these devices honestly aren't all that disappointing in my opinion. I've also had things like the GPD XD Plus and the JXD Singularity. I have yet to buy a non Android device that could match one of the Android devices' functionality though.

Maybe there's a way to put better emulators on it than those poorly configured ones that are included? Have a look around on forums, see if others have got this thing and put new stuff on it.

Depending on the internals, it might be possible to retrofit it with an aftermarket resistive touch overlay and a control board. The most sensible thing would probably be to set up like a mouse and just wire it in “parallel” with a stick/dpad and one of the buttons.
Depending on the internals, it might be possible to control a mars mission with this device.

Tbh it the first handheld ive seen so far with proper off set joy sticks the picture wasn’t that bad considering what it costs and all you did was moan about it not into on turning it on/off, saving games etc etc and then fine you constantly complained about how bad it is but didn’t offer an alternative

I think my powkiddy x2 Version 2 is better. And the display and Emulation of the x70 is much worse than on the x2...don't you think Mr Wicked ?

Opportunity lost. I personally like the physical design and size and can put up with an average screen for the price. Put the T618 SOC that is present in their X18s and this could be a half decent machine for under $100. As it is, this is not a throw away device and as such, Powkiddy becomes Areyoukiddying.
this is fine compared to the 50usd you can buy it for when i got my gameboy advance i had to pay 100usd and that did not even come with games

So please do not bother getting the X45. I just got it in the mail today and it's the same performance with a 4.5" screen. I got it for $20 USD so I didn't lose a lot of money but it's the same CPU, etc.
A quick follow up....seems the bad audio glitches are only in Sonic 2 ??? 1 and 3 and other mega drive games seem alot better

This looks like the same handheld Way Back Arcade is selling as the Power Mini. So far, I’ve seen no reviews on it and the videos showing the gameplay look staged. The fact that it plays 5800 games and only costs $175 seems too good to be true.
It’s such a shame this still isn’t even decent. Has such promise!

Ouch… I regret my Powkitty A20! (Terrible form factor). Even it seems better than this! I have a Retroid 3 Pocket on the way (just no idea how to get roms from my RPi images copied to an Android MicroSD- worried about messing it up! I don’t want to ruin my RPi-400 MicroSDs. Are or will there soon be Retroid3 images on arcP*nx or anywhere soon? I’m in it for Dreamcast, all other systems are bonuses!

Emulation is bad on all emulation devices. With that said there are still some good emulated games. With emulation the point is to make your own SD card with your favorite emulators and only download the best running roms and delete all the junk you don’t like.

hey buddy, My name is jonathon i have a og xbox that works just needs new bands for the disk tray its stuck and needs a cleaning, i have 4 controlers including one with a fan, i have 30+ games i tested at least 90% of them all work thats why the tray got stuck lol. Anyway id be willing to sell or trade for one of these handhelds idk what one would be the even trade but id like to at least try to get one that does ps2, n64, nes, gb, gba, gbc,ext... you know all the good ones. i been watching your channel for a while now so i figured id ask you seem to know alot about them. if not no harm lol. have a good day man!

What is it gb for x70.
ebay sellers say it can only hold 64gb sd max. That is very small when you see it shows it can play psone games, half the psone game library is 150gb so 64gb is very very small.
They only say that cause it needs fat32 file system and windows by default wont format a card larger than 64gb to fat32.
You need to use a 3rd party program like gui format (free) to format larger cards to fat32.
I did the same to my old JXDS7800b. Think back then they say 32gb for that and I used a 256GB card but it needed to be in fat32 ofcourse.
So in other words Id be very suprised if it cant read larger cards even 256GB as long as you format it to fat32 though.
Again, you need a free program like gui fornat to format cards or flash drives larger than 64GB to fat32.
Just stop demanding 1000s of games lol 64 gb is more than enough
