The elk was enjoying all of the different smells and aromas in the shop. He was also looking out the windows. Quite content. Most laid back elk I've ever seen.
He was so gentle in your store. He could have really torn things up. It is amazing how they can get those huge antlers through the store aisles and doorway.
He's a real beauty but LOOKING at him it's easy to see his health is not the best and without supplemental feeding he and possibly some others could also get extra food help. Estes has some mighty hard winters but it's nice to see the wildlife are also taken care of. This is some of the VERY BEST advertising this shop could ever have.
Gives a whole new meaning to buying off the rack! Attracted by those cute fuzzy moose slippers up front no doubt. I can't believe he didn't tear the place up!

Glad no one was hurt including the elk. Could have been an ugly situation if he'd gotten spooked. I can't believe he didn't knock anything over or go to the bathroom.
Its quiet peaceful and protected...nice spot to stand. Its exactly what the store was created to feel like for human animals.....all animals are human......those antlers are pretty vertical, no problem.
He doesn't look too good, he looks a little thin. I don't think the watching crowd realize they caused the elk to go back inside because they created a choke point the elk didn't feel safe crossing.
!!!! And neither did the store owner!!! At some point in time this becomes cruel!!! How selfish that crowd was to stand there and dig the oddity of the situation!!!
If I was not calm and focus that time the scenario was different the door remains open from years I was working inside didn’t knowing what’s happening outside! So chill, the elk was not hurt & thanks for that!
@@pratiq ...the post gives the impression that the people watching the elk from outside of the store...did nothing and very little to get the elk out of the environment that in all actuality...the elk should be exploring/knowing...I watched the video all the way through but that did not make me feel any better about watching this animal possibly get affaird and fear leaving the store...!!!
He was waiting for the hunters to go by. He didn't knock anything down because he didn't want to draw attention to himself!!!! He's obviously hidden out there before!!! LoL!!! He went to hunters education class!!

Well, the sign down there right beside him DOES say Buck X-ing, so the Elk is within range. Also has apples to eat and enjoy while taking advantage of the nice warmth of the store. I mean, if you had a bare ass like that you wouldn't want to be out in the snow either.

I know this local elk. We call him "Gentle Ben" He's a gentle soul :) Love living in Estes Park!
That is the calmest elk/deer/moose I've ever seen get trapped indoors! It's almost as if it deliberately came inside to get out of the weather.....
