- Die kleinen Beinchen der Schwanenküken werden vom paddeln relativ schnell müde. Über größere Entfernungen klettern sie auf den Rücken des Elternschwans - hier der Mutter - und kommen so rasch vorwärts. Das Video zeigt, wie das Quartett auf den Rücken der Mutter klettert, wie sie sich während der Fahrt verhalten und eine recht abrupten Ausstieg am Ufer. Immer wieder schaut ein Kleines neugierig zwischen den Flügeln der Mutter hervor. Der Rücken bietet natürlich auch Schutz vor Gefahren.
The little legs of the swan chicks get tired relatively quickly from paddling. Over longer distances they climb onto the back of the parent swan - here the mother - and thus move forward quickly. The video shows how the quartet climbs onto the mother's back, how they behave during the journey and a rather abrupt exit on the bank. Every now and then a little one looks out curiously from between its mother's wings. Of course, the back also offers protection from dangers.

Tbf they created sounds to alarm her making her expand her wings otherwise we would not have seen under her wings and the babies

I had no idea that swans would carry their young on their backs this way. It's beautiful and touching. Swans are such elegant creatures that i don't picture them the same way as more common waterfowl.

Ja könnte, ist aber hier die Mama. Der Papa schwamm in der Nähe. Man sieht ein Teil von ihm kurz oben im Mitte des Videos. Die ganze Familie kann man im zweiten Video mit den kleinen sehen.

I have never seen this before. The way the mother boats the babies around under her wings and flutters them out at the right time to walk on the bank is wonderful. It is a beautiful example of nature at its finest. Thank you for sharing with us.
