You just gave me the motivation and ressources to start this journey for myself thank you so much for the vid. I roped my best friend into taking this journey with me so hopefully we can check back in in about a year with a story of our own 😁💪🏻 Keep up the great work man we really appreciate the video
Grateful and Thankful that your content pops up on youtube recommendation, I'm struggling between CyberSecurity and Web Developer and Software, Thank you for taking your time creating this video.
I started this week! Gave myself 365 days & I’m excited to see how much I grow. It’ll be great if I get a job before those 365 days! Also, I like the idea of daily video logs & journaling.
Yeah honestly the journalling and video logs will keep your spirits high while learning. You can probably get a job before 365 days if you stick to it consistently. The first job is always the hardest
Hey Danny! Love seeing your videos. Thanks for inspiring me. I'm heading down to Brazil for a few months in December with the fam. I'm working on figuring out the freelance web dev thing while finishing up my degree. I appreciate you taking the time to share your insights. Só tenho uma pergunta... Quando você vai fazer um vídeo em português? :) obrigado irmão!
Yeah I remember that section actually took me a long time to figure out. I actually used the etch a sketch challenge in an experiment I did on my newsletter here dannydiscovers.substack.com/p/is-chatgpt-plus-worth-it
FCC is great for total beginners to get a taste for coding. TOP is what I did to build projects and learn dev workflows. I recommend both to be honest. When you get stuck on TOP, try exercises on FCC etc.
Hi Danny 👋😊 thank you very much for sharing your journey so far! Good advice about doing paid freelance projects and I have tried this avenue before. The only thing is, no one will choose me to develop their projects on freelancer or Fiverr as I haven't made anything for anyone there before. What would you suggest I do just to gain some interest at least? Should I do a few self initiated projects and showcase these there so others can see what I can do?
nice mate! I'm doing the odin project right now On day 68 now, but stuck with the tic tac toe project. Would be helpful to know what you did when you got stuck with projects, would you skip them, go forward and then come back to them later? THanks in advance mate
@@dannydiscovers Ok, waw this was very helpful thank you. Although I was learning from freeCodeCamp before I saw your recommendations, do you think I should keep going?
It's really validating to recognize my same thought process and passion in what you're saying. I have literally said and felt the same way since I've started my journey. If I'm not taking a course or coding, I'm reading, researching, journaling/note-taking constantly. I love learning and like you said, the fact that there's always something to learn is soooo exciting to me and is what really got me along with the fact that it's so creative and satisfying to turn ideas into something useful. I've hopped around looking for things that will stick and feel fulfilling, but I lose interest in things that don't really evolve or continue to challenge me. Coding and programming was like a light bulb exploded in my brain. lol And the fact that I'm understanding it and enjoying it really just tickles my pickle cause I never thought it was possible honestly. lol Thanks for sharing! It's nice to share that feeling of connecting with a common interest.
@@dannydiscovers damn bro if you did u could of just said i like him thats why i copied him but damn u copied him word for word and shamelessly dislike
@@dannydiscovers I am not. The thing is I managed to find freelance work just finishing the responsive web design from freecodecamp. Then I just learn js along the way using various resources.
I have been through layoffs. I hate depending on someone else or being told I don't have enough experience. I'm going to push myself this time until I succeed.
Why the fuck is like every one duing this shit, same thumbnail same words same story?!!?! I found this vid from another guy like 1 years ago from another one 6 months ago…
At 0.52 I messed up my edit - RIP headphone users

I think it'll be a while till I get to make one in Portuguese 😅 don't want to embarrass myself publicly yet 😂
Hey...really appreciate your insights on how to start and break in the industry...u earned a sub😊
Thanks for the sub!
Hey danny i really like ur videos, I'm going through js on odin project right now it's really helping me to understand the DOM architecture in js
Yeah I remember that section actually took me a long time to figure out. I actually used the etch a sketch challenge in an experiment I did on my newsletter here dannydiscovers.substack.com/p/is-chatgpt-plus-worth-it
Im at the same step
Really good video! Well done 👏🏼
Thanks so much!
Enjoy your videos Danny!
Glad you like them!
Nice experience!
Thanks for commenting!
Can you elaborate when you mentioned there are more jobs for software development than for software developers. Thanks!!
Usually the demand is higher than the supply. It can be hard to get full-time work so check freelancing sites and look for contract work
I love your vid Danny, and should I studying with the FCC website or the odin project is better as a beginner?
FCC is great for total beginners to get a taste for coding. TOP is what I did to build projects and learn dev workflows. I recommend both to be honest. When you get stuck on TOP, try exercises on FCC etc.
@@dannydiscovers tkank you for your dedicated advises, have a nice day

I tried for 1 day usually and if I was totally stuck, I moved on.
I made a video called the odin project when it's too hard I'm pretty sure.
@@dannydiscovers perfect thanks Danny!
Thank you bro
Welcome
How many hours did you study a day? Could you tell us what your schedule was like brother?
4hrs per day I would say on average
Do you recommend we learn React.js from Odin Project Or React Beta Docs/Scrimba?
I used all three to be completely honest.
I suggest Scrimba first then the Docs.
You can use the odin project to go through the docs too though
@@dannydiscovers Ok, What skills did your first job require? The Telegram Bot gig you did.
NodeJS, Express, then later for front-end I needed vanilla JS, CSS, HTML and ElectronJS. I was working with another backend Dev
@@dannydiscovers Ok, waw this was very helpful thank you. Although I was learning from freeCodeCamp before I saw your recommendations, do you think I should keep going?
WHICH WEBSITE IS BETTER FOR LEARNING CODES
FOR EARN MONEY WHICH LANGUAGE IS BETTER
JavaScript is very common so there is a lot of work with it. Learn everything you need on The Odin Project for free. I have videos on this process
@danny are you a software developer or a web developer
Both
Do you think one can follow the same road map while in university studying full-time
Yeah. It will just take longer
Nice video! Is this copied off tim kim?
Well it's my own experience so no, not copied
Hello everyone I want to learn coding as well I’m looking for a career change do anyone have any ideas or suggestions
My channel has dozens of videos on this

Yeah continuous learning is probably the best aspect of coding. Glad you’ve been enjoying the videos and finding them useful
Bro did u copy Tim kim, liek it has the same title.
Don't know who that is

Idk is this vid coppied?
It's a common topic yeah but it's my own experience
Did you finish the odin project?
Actually no. I managed to find work when I reached the React section and never finished it. Are you doing it?
@@dannydiscovers I am not. The thing is I managed to find freelance work just finishing the responsive web design from freecodecamp. Then I just learn js along the way using various resources.
Nice! I used FCC too when I got stuck in TOP.
I'm gonna get into freelance. Calling up my local companies that don't have websites. Will update you. Thanks

Okay
exact same title and thumbnail than Tim Kim? you relentless mf
There are probably 50 videos that look similar across niches
