Flying and verticality really sells the world that the game designers are trying to build. I played CyberPunk 2077 on consoles and could not appreciat ethe world on ground level until I saw this video. Perspective is really something.
yep thats what i feel at the very start of the launch, I could see a huge potential of the game and the world they built. From the street looking up to all the high rise building. I wondered why they build such a world with so much verticality and not let us witness that greatness.
Honestly, I expected flying cars to not be in the game, since it is more grounded in reality instead of doing what other sci-fis did. In fact, the closest to flying cars the game had to offer are the AVs, but are only used by corpos or the rich. I do hope the mod has half the NPCs to also have the flying cars. As the third person, would be nice if it was a toggle option.
For a game designed to be in 1st person. The mod team behind the 3rd person did a really good job for what they were given. Its a shame that a modern single player game like this doesnt provide the freedom to experience the game in the way you want.
Wow someone who agrees that Third Person is still very important..... not used to this.... everytime I mentioned I was disappointed at the lack of 3rd person everyone just acted like that's not something needed and that First Person is better and more immersive
No such thing as a perfect game. Granted, it does pave the way into what this kind of genre can offer in gaming. Looking forward to future games in this genre

Yea the whole "immersive" idea of only having first person is good on paper until you actually try to play a story focused game. It works with COD but not this game, especially when building a character to your liking is a huge part of the experience.

@Danny Dogg I mean, to be fair the modders don't have to do as good a job. Making a flying car as a modder means just that - if you make the cars fly, you've done a good job, because everyone gets you're an amateur who isn't getting paid. If you're the developer, you need to make the cars fly, make sure that works well, make sure you can't get anywhere you're not supposed to, have flying car gameplay, probably make NPCs capable of flying cars, make sure pathfinding works, etc etc... And you also likely need to have it chime in with the lore, fit the world you're trying to create, get artwork and models to be cohesive, so on and so on.
@@thetrashcanman7537 it's a good job for a modder and it's pretty cool, but if this was a feature in the game with nothing else, it would seem really crap. I see a lot of complaints when developers have features in a game that don't really have any purpose, and break parts of the game. Modders don't need to worry about the cohesiveness of adding in flying cars, or a leotard that gives you 999 armour and one-hit kills.
@@thetrashcanman7537 it's a feature with no purpose or integration, and if you play the game with the flying cars mod, it really just adds another way to get around - with the potential that you can fall through the roof when you land on buildings and stuff. It's not something people would be happy with in a AAA release, and to be honest, it's not as if CP77 was short of bugs and issues on release to begin with, without a minimum-basic-implementation flying car mechanic. To clarify once again, it's impressive work and great fun for a mod, but doesn't come close to the work CDPR would've needed to do to put flying cars in the game.

Why waste the resources? Bethesda does both in almost every title and 3rd person is shit in all of them. Every game doesn't need to be 3rd person over the shoulder. This mod achieved what most would use 3rd person for "walking"
I'm sure with the official red mod tools 3rd person mods will improve. I just don't think a dev team can, or should try to appease every crowd. They make the vision and modders can expand from there. Hopefully none of that comes off as rude, just my thoughts :)

But, I bet you'll say RE7 is better than even RE2R and RE3R because it's 1st person only. They made such a big show about genital customization to distract everyone with how "deep" customization is, despite the fact it isn't deep at all, when there's not even 3rd person mode. They obviously meant to have 3rd person in AND cutscenes but scrapped both due to lack of time and possibly skill. Nothing more, nothing less.

You'd be lying if you tried to convince me re's third person was anything but awkward until the recent games, but I still liked them My point is there aren't very many examples of games that let you change points of perspective and the ones we do have normally if not always implement a janky 3rd person. It's also up to the devs what they think suits the game better although I do agree with your pocket weasel statement. There's no need for a dick tool you'll never see.
Awesome show. Never tried any mod on Cyberpunk. Most make a game op or odd. But this flying cars thing, i have to take a look into it. But your video is not a destruction, its more a power showroom for Nvidia. For 8k the frames are still solid. With my ti version of yours, the frames are really smooth on 8k TV. I hope the rumours about a new Titan with the 4xxx Series are true.
Except flying cars was never promised and all of the AV's in the game are controlled by AI, people are only the passengers. V was only able to be in those when he was a corpo in one of the prologues or made it to the major leagues in one of the endings, basically when he was super rich. I guess it didn't really made sense story wise to give our characters access to AV's as a regular transport. I would rather talk about the absence of metro, that really sucked.
CDPR ought be ashamed that a bunch of modders were able to totally bolster this game without even being hired to do it. But i guess i can understand why considering the devs were under tremendous pressure from the higher ups to meet unrealistic deadlines.
It's a first person game. For other first person games where coop or multiplayer mode is available the animations are likely to be much more fluid than this
I wish they would add 3rd person mode for walking and running jumping animations for free roam and when engaging in combat and quests to automatically go in first person

One of my fav mods at the moment. I always found the fast travel system tedious for game and world like Cyberpunk. Once you get the hang of the controls, you can get actually get to some parts of the map faster than messing around with fast travel. You also have a few POV toggles if you're not a 3rd person kind of...person. Landing the ride though is tricky without it.
Wish someone would add the AV you ride in as corpo on the intro as something you can hire and use it to fly to predetermined spots like building with helipads or open areas near places of interests.
This is great to see... it's ridiculous that they didn't add flying cars, as the tech was already there. A very weird decision, but maybe they will add them officially at some point. Thanks for the upload. GG
I dont think you realize just how much of the vertical space is used in cyberpunk. They already have a highly detailed world you see when on the ground. With all the giant megabuildings they would've had to do 50x more work to make detailed rooftops and building textures. That's the reason there aren't flying cars. Also you're just a random merc and I'm pretty sure the flying "cars" are reserved for high class corpos as the 2077 private jet.
