If weather is ok, then can take a speed ferry from Georgetown to Langkawi. ~3 hours, so about same travel time as a flight (if one stays on north Penang so no need to go to airport, wait 1 h etc).

Yes, taking the ferry can be fun and relaxing! It's also cheaper than a flight.
