Always finding more great info from years ago. Don’t think I’ll ever finish all your videos but I sure am trying. Need to start another 3 ring binder. Mines full already.
Thanks, Heidi
Literally the exact information I was looking for thanks 🙏
Same method that I’ve figured out after years of trying to find the best method for these tiny seeds. You are saving the newbies a lot of aggravation ! Lol
I have some of the seed I got from you last year getting started on the window sill. We're still getting morning frost. So anxious to see them mature! *Happy dance*
So appreciate you, Heidi! 🤗
✝️💜
Good morning from Va, ❤️ watching and learning from your videos. God is good, all the time
I always get the greats tips from you!!!! BLESSINGS 💖
Amaranth.
Hoo boy.
Mr Rosehaven came up with using a spin (as opposed to the back-and-forth) flour sifter for threshing. Works pretty good.
A playlist would be great, unfortunately I tend to miss some videos here and there and saving seed is so important!
♥️🙏👍🇺🇸🤓
The playlist is linked in the description box
Great video...went straight to your shop and purchased a couple items will be visiting your shop again for seeds too! ❤️
May you harvest in abundance 🙏🏽✝️ great video
Well hello Heidi, I had no idea you had a UA-cam channel. I randomly came across your channel by accident looking how make vinegar. Started watching and said to myself, "Wait a min... I know that person!" So I figured I say Hello!
Hey! How are you? Yep, been doing this since 2016, after retiring from teaching dance and martial arts I decided to start teaching other things. :)
That's awesome! Well I will be following your channel. I'll be starting my own homestead on 40 acres over in Montana hopefully around July so I'll be looking forward to receiving some good knowledge from your videos.
Love your ideas, I never thought of this. As always Thank you for sharing your ideas 😊 You all Be Blessed 💗
Great tips, Heidi
Love the strainer tip. Will be using it right away!!!
Thanks for just being you. There seems to be so much confusion about everything. Just want some normality.
Thank you Deborah!
Heidi, I learned from Mary's Nest, she shared with us in her video about herbs.🏡 The chamomile🌸 flower can produce hay fever like symptoms. I picked the whole field to enjoy the drawing process for a tea and found that it triggered a Hay fever symptoms in myself. I am hear to learn, thanks
Excellent tips! Thank you!
I just planted yarrow for the first time and WOW are those TINY seeds. Love the strainer tip. Everyone stay safe and God Bless you and your family from middle GA 🙏 Kendra
Been praying for you lady, hope you are finding comfort and peace
@@RainCountryHomestead Oh Thank You so much.. just trying to stay busy and keep my mind occupied. God Bless you both🙏🙏

Great Video! I Save seeds for Some of my plants, but i get rained out in fall too often. I Saved some lettuce seed last year and will be planting it next week!
Thank you Heidi, how to do your very little seeds, and I am going to have to try this with my poppies too. Good information
😁
Great video! I harvested echinacea last year after watching your videos. I am so happy to say that after planting them in a solo cup I have viable seeds! I have half a paper grocery bag full of seed heads that I gathered from the campground! I am thinking about selling them! What do you think?
Yep, you can do that. :)
I received my seeds I ordered. They are awesome. Ty. Will definately be ordering more ❤👍
Have a question, I started Apple for vinegar per ur fermenting video. It is growing mold big time. Each day I scoop it off and then stir it. Am I doing something wrong?
I take it you are not stirring daily? You must have been watching one of my very first vinegar videos back before I made it a point to stir daily for the first couple of weeks. Here is a more recent one you might find helpful: ua-cam.com/video/depySASTPrw/v-deo.html
I've been stirring everyday. This am I added more sugar as it didn't seem to be fermenting like the rest of my ferments. ❤
@@susankarnes2100 If it is very warm where you are, you may need to stir twice a day. If it did not get to a point where it was very fizzy, it is possible you may have started with too much sugar to begin with so adding more sugar would slow it down. How long have you had it going?
I have been wanting some yarrow for a while now and goll danget! Today I found one lonely oittle yarrow plant growing out of a crack in the curb by my work. I know it's yarrow and am so happy. Only thing is, I'm not sure if the flowers are mature enough to let them dry and have seed. How do you know?
I usually wait until the flowers turn dark before I harvest them for seed., bring them in and allow them to finish drying
@@RainCountryHomestead Thanks for replying! I will give it a try. Doesn't hurt to try 🤞🙂
What method do you think would work best for zinnia seeds? I have a ton of flowers that I have saved.
I do not grow Zinnias so am not familiar with the seed
@@RainCountryHomestead totally understand.
When I try to dehydrate my dandelion flowers for soap or jelly making later... they explode into seed poof balls. Why do yours look so pretty and yellow in your jars? What am I doing wrong?
Temperature is half of it. Too hot can cause them to turn to puff balls. 105°-110° is ideal for the flowers. I recently dried some next to our wood stove with no issue
Have you tried germinating these?
Yes, all the plants I have I have grown from seed and even sell the seeds from my plants
When is it best to harvest yarrow flowers for seeds? What month or how do u know its ready for seeds?
What month will depend mostly on your climate but I wait until the flowers are pretty dried out then cut the whole flower cluster off and bring in to finish drying
Can you use orange peels to make vinegar
Yes but need to add sugar
Here is my Citrus Peel Vinegar recipe: ua-cam.com/video/RuYuEjud9lc/v-deo.html
And here is one on the many things you can make vinegar from: ua-cam.com/video/yyYanU-wrAk/v-deo.html
How do you know when yarrow seeds are ready to be saved.
The flowers turn dark and dry up
@@RainCountryHomestead thank you.
