According to The Asylum, a deep sea submersible has an interior the size of a master bedroom. And has multiple TVs perfectly receiving signals through a mile of sea water. Wow.
The submersible was merely a drone, the controls were at a house with enough space for a master bedroom and multiple TVs. The signal still getting to the drone without cables is a problem but Asylum flicks have enough problems without the viewer misunderstanding the basics. Unless you mean the 3000 meter one which is still pretty deep but not enough to even reach the bottom the average sea depth, but that one wasn't as large. I haven't seen the film just the review though so if it's bigger than in the review or the people teleported from the drone to the house in the beginning that's different.
When I can't hardly get a signal and I live in the northern Midwest and I have a 80 dollar antenna that I can stream stuff from my phone far away away from deep ocean

Wait... So Hollywood took a very low budget Japanese film series, turned it into a multi-million dollar blockbuster, then Asylum made a very low budget version of that film?
That "submarine" control room set in the beginning rivals the sophistication of Ed Wood's cockpit in Plan 9 From Outer Space. They probably spent the whole budget on the joysticks.
Sometimes you just need some low budget fun to turn your brain off and just enjoy. Always love seeing these through you Decker, than I can actually give a shot to the quality ones. I’m not 100% it’s Asylum but it is another mockbuster I put into the decent category, Abraham Lincoln vs Zombies. Oh my god! I knew Chris Fisher ("Riley") growing up in Cape Town, his sister was my best friend. Total mind blow to see him in an Asylum film (not to mention my beautiful home town).
Did anyone else notice that the "American" Coast Guard vessel has a British flag in the one shot it's shown fully, and the "control room" that Eric Roberts is taking a phone call in has clearly some Eastern European language written on the control panel by the phone?
It gets worse. The ship ensign and the rank slides on his shoulder are for the New Zealand Navy, while the flag on his sleeve is Australian. You have to love the Asylum’s attention to detail.
8:17 When did a New Zealand naval frigate join the US Coast Guard? Starting to think the USCG is inflating their perceived power level with stock footage. Psyops, man!
It's nice to see the asylum is slowly moving into "so bad it's good" from "so bad it's bad". Guess it's true that the longer you do something, you're bound to get better eventually.
9:28 Actually, they somehow turn the propellers into... well, propellers. It is as stupid as implied though, since propellers sized and motorized for use in water would barely function as a fan in the air, not like an airplane propeller. Too small propellers on way too low revs, but the torch is awesome!

I asked Alexa how to defeat a kaiju, was not expecting it to have the answer... Apparently, the one thing that never works with real life animal control is the very thing needed against kaijus. Introduce a hostile species! A short-lived, fast-growing monster of your own could handle the kaiju for you, then die when it is no longer needed, preventing it from attacking you after it has no other targets. Of course, you'll have to make sure it cannot breed, which probably means you need some method of creating this creature. Second alternative would be giant mechs, but those are unwieldy and require years of pilot training. That makes them only suitable for if you expect the kaiju from years ahead, or if the kaiju threat is constant.
