I really wish TROS had had Rey bury the lightsabers of Anakin/Luke and Leia on Naboo. That would have been a more bitter sweet, but happy ending to the Skywalker saga. It would have said, the four main Skywalker family members are finally together as a family at last. Anakin/Luke would have been represented by the lightsaber they both shared, Leia would have been represented by hers, and Padmé would have been represented by the planet itself. Would have been a better ending. That’s my head canon. May Anakin, Padmé, Luke, and Leia, Rest In Peace together in Force.❤
7:26 is an incredibly important event. Anakin’s every fiber of his identity is in serious crisis. A falling stone from that point. If I were Padme I would be shocked. Anakin here admits that he is officially off the Jedi path, and it’s about to turn but still fighting. Serious internal conflict within his soul but as a clinical psychologyst, if ever something similar comes from my patients, this should be more than troubling. Basically it is a temptation to declare that committing a crime is about to happen. In this point, Lucas also beautifully showed that now it’s too late for Anakin. He already made the painful decision but it’s hard to face it or swallow it even for him. Hence the line: “I feel lost”.
I went to see ROTS when it came out in theaters in 2005 with someone dear to me, which makes it extra special for me. Star Wars was part of our childhoods. We both grew up with the original trilogy, but I, in particular, have a love for the prequels, especially ROTS, which is my favorite. ✨️❤

This is the only right answer… I don’t know if she exactly lost the will to live. I mean it makes sense, postpartum depression, and she lost everything. And on top of that, imagine the stress of having to raise two babies alone. So yeah it makes perfect sense to me
My theory - It was his dark side powers going haywire. Light side has healing properties “I can save people from dying”, so when Anakin used the dark side on her, it sucked the “living-force” out of her.
@@LilacSreyaIt's explained in the comics that Palpatine stole Padmé's life force because she was not only a threat to his plans to rule the galaxy through/using Anakin but also to force Anakin to complete his transition to the dark side and immerse himself in it after being encapsulated in the suit for his Vader transformation. Which makes evil Palpatine laughing at the end of RotS even more chilling and eerie. So I highly doubt someone like Padmé would lose her will to live when she just gained two reasons and another being fighting for her belief in democracy.
She saying she wants her baby to hang out in naboo gardens Baby grows up and takes down a whole bunch of super droids and saves Mando and grogu lol...she didn't see that coming
Sweet beautiful Padmè. I tell you, everytime she cries and says, "Anakin, you're breaking my heart" & her voice cracks, it breaks my heart too & I tear up and have to remind myself it's just a movie! These two are not JUST phenomenal actors with their lines & body language, etc., but they've even got the facial expressions down! The one that really gets me is that psycho smile on Anakin's face after he tells her he can overthrow the Chancellor and they could "rule the galaxy together & make things the way we want them to be". He looked positively looney! 😮
Anakin wanted to the temple to know but I think her being on the counsel was the problem. She put pressure on him because he was a jedi and I honestly believe that would've brought good connection to the republic that the jedi and the council can have a comforting relationship.
Yet another example of Jedi being daft. Anakin, a Jedi, being a representative of the senate was also good for their image, but no, they had to ruin that one too.
@@Illzyand that's why they are dumb and deserved to be destroyed. Kiadi Mundi himself has a family and has benn married for years while being in the jedi council. Thank you so much for this! Great quality, and you even summarized just enough but not much in an important scene. My only complaint is I wanted to see more of the final scene between them.
The second scene with Anakin & Padme in the balcony should've been cut and replace with some of the deleted scenes that should've been included in the film.
I totally agree. That scene with Anakin and Padame questioning the legitimacy of the republic and democracy in general didn't really add anything to the film and felt more like a self insert of George Lucas's personal criticisms on the US involvement in Vietnam. Not to mention that the dialogue is cringe worthy in that scene ("Don't shut me out. Hold me like you did on the lake of Naboo"). That scene definitely should've been cut as it was just taking up time which didn't make sense as Palpation had just summoned Anakin to meet with him and yet he's having a pep talk with Padame for pointless reasons. However, the deleted scenes showing the Senators discussing about putting together an organization in response to the Senates corruption felt more essential to the main story as it was depicting the early seeds of the Rebellion. Also, the scene of Yoda arriving on Dagobah should never have been cut out.
@@Jackal_El_Lobo34I think he’s talking about a different scene. The balcony scene is where he’s like “no it’s cuz I’m so in love with you” “love has blinded you?”.. I agree with him. 10:39 is so poignant. They disassociate Obi-Wan from the rest of the Jedi. Anakin has been deceived into believing the Jedi are traitors, and is passing on the lie to Padmé, but they both want to believe Obi-Wan is still on their side. It’s clear how much they both love him.
I know palpatine orchestrated everything but I never realized that when they became seperated, not only with his capture could Anakin prove himself by killing his apprentice Dooku. Thats not really fair to blame Obi-Wan's presence for Vader's actions here especially when he was already starting to get aggressive with his wife when she was pleating for him to give up his megalomaniacal conquest. Vader had just committed an act of genocide and if he hadn't intervened in that moment by telling Vader to stop choking Padame, he likely would've instantly killed her in his blind rage.
@@Jackal_El_Lobo34Quit white-washing Obi Wan for everything. He only choked her AFTER he saw Obi Wan and panicked. Luke inherited most of his personality from Padme: his sense of duty, not showing his emotions unless pressed, his sense of honor, pacifist qualities, and a tendency to brood or even be depressed or sad at times. However, he also has some of Anakin’s traits such as his sense of adventure, reckless nature, and a fierce loyalty and attachment to the people he loves. Leia inherited most of her personality from Anakin: her righteous anger, her fixation on what is just, wearing her emotions on her sleeve, letting her opinions known even if it may cause disagreements or arguments, and a fierce loyalty to the people she loves. However, she also has some of Padme’s traits such as her sense of duty, self-sacrificing nature, and being heavily into the political scene of galactic affairs.

And when Kenobi just popped out of the ship, it was like catching Kenobi and Padme in the act. Which is why he was so quick to strangle her. Never understood why they deleted that scene!
@@alphonml6220Plus, Anakin really thought she brought obiwan there to get rid of him so they could be together instead, like what people having an affair cheating on their significant other plot to do sometimes in real life and often in fiction.
What’s funny is at 10:55 he’s speaking so lovingly to her even though he’s a bit in a bloodlust haze but when he starts talking about the separatist on mustafar you can hear that hate & disgust & answer come back into his voice like damn he really hate then separatist

Anakin was so afraid of losing those he loved, his moms death made him so angry, in part, because he felt so helpless. Fear and anger is the fuel for the dark side in the Star Wars universe and in our own.
I love how he’s always so calm with padme unless their literally talking about politics cause he never gets mad or irritated but when politics or their separate but political jobs come into convo he be talking to her like she a traitor to the realm 😂😂
Because he never trusted the government and harbored some resentment for politicians in general due to his early exposure to slavery during his formative years all throughout his childhood for 13 years.

What if padme held here stomach said she was going into labour would that snap him back?
I love the passion in Ani the way he took the promise for him. No "I promise you"
I went to see ROTS when it came out in theaters in 2005 with someone dear to me, which makes it extra special for me. Star Wars was part of our childhoods. We both grew up with the original trilogy, but I, in particular, have a love for the prequels, especially ROTS, which is my favorite. ✨️❤
All that blackness and dark capes and breathing apparatuses. All that ominous terror. Underneath it all is just a sad, lonely, brokenhearted man. A good man.
i do not think he is good as he killed the younglings. but he is a real person, with fears and pride and ego and will to protect his own.
The way from 0:28 going forward they were talking to each others mouths 😂😂 like they both kept looking at each other’s lips & only when he sensed her nerves did he actually completely focus on her eyes 😭😭😭🩷🩷
My headcanon is that the stress Anakin put on Padme is what killed her.
@@LilacSreyawhy’d you have to say that 😢
@@LilacSreyaIt's explained in the comics that Palpatine stole Padmé's life force because she was not only a threat to his plans to rule the galaxy through/using Anakin but also to force Anakin to complete his transition to the dark side and immerse himself in it after being encapsulated in the suit for his Vader transformation. Which makes evil Palpatine laughing at the end of RotS even more chilling and eerie. So I highly doubt someone like Padmé would lose her will to live when she just gained two reasons and another being fighting for her belief in democracy.

Jedi are forbidden to marry, so revealing that he’d been married to padme in secret for years would have made them kick him out
Yet another example of Jedi being daft. Anakin, a Jedi, being a representative of the senate was also good for their image, but no, they had to ruin that one too.
@@Illzyand that's why they are dumb and deserved to be destroyed. Kiadi Mundi himself has a family and has benn married for years while being in the jedi council. They just simple leave Anakin in the dark for NO REASON, and Windu was the perfect example of the blindness, stupidity and far away from the force the jedi was.
7:22 It kinda hits differently for me that Anakin likely had BPD and is going through an identity crisis in this scene.
The way he simply loves to admire her from afar is so precious & I find it so hard to believe since he harbored some hate & evil in him that he was even capable of real compassion & love especially giving it cause men who reach his point & lost they mom usually be fighting demons fr 😭😭
Thank you so much for this! Great quality, and you even summarized just enough but not much in an important scene. My only complaint is I wanted to see more of the final scene between them.
The second scene with Anakin & Padme in the balcony should've been cut and replace with some of the deleted scenes that should've been included in the film.
What was the deleted scene?
@@奇妙-y2y A stirring in the senate with Padme and other senators.
The dialogue just doesn’t do it for me. It seems like the writers were trying to force some philosophy and it missed the mark
I like the balcony scene. It shows how happy they are, before everything went wrong
Imagine if they really did have babies. They'd be so beautiful😢(the actors I meant)
For sure
Technically, they did. It’s just they didn’t get to raise them together

thing to remember anakin and vader are not one and the same when anakin turned he died and vader took his place
A moder greek tragedy based in the future 😢😢😢😢
I know palpatine orchestrated everything but I never realized that when they became seperated, not only with his capture could Anakin prove himself by killing his apprentice Dooku. Palpatine also brought anakin back to be near padme again. Anakin clearly says it in the beginning that he didn't think they'd ever make it back from the outer rim if it weren't for him. Wish they had a happier ending. Palpatine is an evil cupid puppet master.

@@peppergirlrocks true!
Probably because he has been married and in love for a while at that point, he can handle it. In AOTC, imagine if you were in a religious cult that indoctrinated it's members into thinking any form of love or passion is sinful and not the 'Jedi' way, but you were also a Young person with raging hormones and unstable emotions. Then you fall in love with someone, bare in mind that you've been taught to ignore it, and try and be smooth and calm with it
He is a war veteran too by this point dont forget. He is not that 19 year old that we was in AoTC anymore, and he has been married to Padme for 3 years too
Honestly he wasn’t even that awkward in AOTC. People nowadays expect everyone to behave like some suave game show host.

I feel bad for Anakin, specially when he says ''This is the happiest moment of my life''. He suffered almost his whole life and fear prevented him to enjoying those few happy moments. After that, hatred and rage took over him, making him lose what he loved most.
9:00 Re watching this but I had no idea star wars could be so creepy, really well done
Anikan is creepy af
It’s sad to think that padme was never actually in danger, anakins vision was never going to come true, it was his actions that caused it.
Anikan is so stupid. He kills younglings and he kills his wife and almost his own kids. He comes off autistic.
At like 7:13 If u watch it in slow motion & see how he’s intentionally watching her it looks disturbing 😭😭
Anikan is like a horror movie villain about to snap.
Anakin is the prime example of someone who will do anything to protect and save the one they love even if it means Getting indoctrinated by the dark side he is a loyal character but man it was getting better he was about to become a father and have a happy life but Sidious just had to come along and ruin it
That angelic blinding smile is why she’s standing there married illegally & knocked up at 5months preggers 😭😭❤️😂 anakin probably melting standing there watching her smile at him like if she wasn’t already pregnant, she was definitely trying to be looking at him like that 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤
Obi-Wan ruined it when he appeared in that ship.
True...you could see Anakin maybe was going to do what she asked but when Obi-Wan showed up, Anakin felt betrayed
FR if Obi-wan wasn’t there maybe just maybe Anakin would have listened
Thats not really fair to blame Obi-Wan's presence for Vader's actions here especially when he was already starting to get aggressive with his wife when she was pleating for him to give up his megalomaniacal conquest. Vader had just committed an act of genocide and if he hadn't intervened in that moment by telling Vader to stop choking Padame, he likely would've instantly killed her in his blind rage.
@@Jackal_El_Lobo34Quit white-washing Obi Wan for everything. He only choked her AFTER he saw Obi Wan and panicked. And at this Jedi have been doing nothing but genociding the Separatists (the REAL good guys), what about that? And what did Obi even expect? The irony of finding out he’s to be a father being the happiest moment in his life to probably the most traumatic (before he finds out his kids still alive)
Padme should have sided with Anikan to rule the galaxy. Would have been better than the Empire.

It's so sad they reduced Padmés role to being a compassionate wife (which isn't a bad thing itself, don't get me wrong) - she was such a strong, wise, decisive and smart woman and politician, I loved her scenes as queen and senator. In this movie, you see nothing of it. Such a pity.
Because she is pregnant, she can’t really do much because of that
How is being a compassionate wife not strong ?
