Peaceful deep sleep is so replenishing. I treasure a cozy rest grateful I'm in a place in my life I'm able to get enough. Not getting enough good quality sleep is definitely detrimental to our health.

The autonomic storms that happen during sleep, like the heart rate and blood pressure dramatically and randomly rising and dropping, and the fight/flight response randomly firing is the mind/brain testing the physical body much like a mechanic would do with a car while parked in a shop, testing things in the engine, pushing all the way down on the accelerator, pressing and releasing the brake, to make sure they are functioning properly. These functions are needed to be performed properly by the body during the waking state of daily life. Therefore, sleep is the time that the communication (neural connection) from brain to body is tested and re-calibrated. Also, the reason for the eyes and ear muscles remaining active and highly alert is to facilitate instant activation of hearing and seeing in the event the body needs to awaken suddenly due to a survival threat.

I think you should check out the info Dr. Stasha Gominak has put together from her sleep labs. Super interesting insight on the brain stem and it's Vitamin D and pantothenic acid B5 receptors, needed for REM SLEEP. She ties in acetylcholine's role in this as well. I would love to hear your thoughts on her words!

Thank you so much for this comment! I just found her videos and looks like really great info! I been feeling lately I need to supplement vit d and that it's connected to my bad sleep. Now I can make sense of it

Thank you for this quick clip. Is there a connection between horizontal eye movements during REM sleep that prompted the discovery/creation of EMDR therapy?

My mind is about to explode 🤯 I cannot fathom what is being explained, I mean, I understand the words being said but can’t begin to truely comprehend their meaning 😯 seriously such a thought provoking conversation I’m happy to have come across. Also love the passion from Mr Walker!

Scientists believe sleepwalking occurs when two areas of the brain - the limbic region of the brain that deals with raw emotions and the area of the cortex that manages complex motor activity - remain awake while the areas that would otherwise mitigate their primitive impulses - notably the frontal cortex (rationality) ...

Are the horizontal eye movements in REM sleep part of the detox process in the brain. Also why can the brain not detox itself if we don’t sleep between the hour of 10pm and 4am?

''sudden hundreds of thousands of cells in my cortex all decide to fire together and then they all go silent together, and its this remarkable physiological coordination'' Shouldn't you see the will right here and understand that this work is the action of the Creator? instead of saying '' mother nature''.
