- Theta Chimes Supergiant Chime is our largest tube chime, a full hanging height of 93"! This chime needs a minimum of 9-10 feet of space in which to hang.
Massive 3" tubes cut to length to create a beautiful and uplifting chime based off of the major scale. Huge 11" aluminum sail at the bottom is curved to catch the wind.

@@themrtomward mine are 9 feet tall. The longest chime is 78 1/4 inches.
I personally like the tone of a heavier galvanized pipe. These chimes are aluminum. I cut mine from 20ft lengths of brace pipe.
I have one and it's bolted to my tree and i absolutely love it. I did a shorts on it in high winds.

Do they sell the materials to make this at Home Depot?
I would assume they're just stainless steel / aluminum (because weather resistant, lighter, & cost effective) pipes at different lengths, along with wood & string. You could use a chromatic tuner on android Play Store to figure out what note you're getting, and then trim the pipe accordingly. They have to follow notes on a scale, such as: E minor Pentatonic Scale. The resonance is sometimes based on the metal / alloy used. Tibetan singing bowls for example, have several metals in it, including Bronze, Copper, Nickel... which is what causes it to resonate and sustain the way it does. That said, bigger pipes / thicker metal in general naturally sustain for long periods of time. Once you have that figured out you just need fabric / metal string / fishing line (whatever handles the weight), and a couple of wooden disks.

If you don't mind indulging me, please tell me what material you are using for the pipes, and how do you tune them? Like, do you gradually cut them shorter and shorter, bit by bit, until you get the right notes from them?? Please help LoL I just want to make something like this for my parents, and its not going so beautifully lol My goal is to make chimes that play an actual chord, like a diatonic, musical chord

Im 72, i was in college band in '70. We had full set of solid orchestra chimes, but no music we had needed them. I hit them with the rawhide hammer, they looked real expensive. 10 years ago i saw in a gift shop wind chimes maybe 35 " or so, i could not afford them . Now i can. Im searching internet but all i see is tubes. Where can i get the solid chimes tuned to exact notes. ? 😊

How the heck do you tie the strings to the cross bars way down inside the tubes?
I’ve wondered this myself as I have a set similar to these. The only way I think it’s possible is the pin is popped out in order to tie one end of the string to then dropped back down and reinserted into the tube.
I’ve never seen a wind chime that had strings running down the individual pipes…..I’ve seen holes drilled at the tops of each pipe and then strung to the center ring.the pendulum (?) sorry, don’t know the technical terminology……is strung from the center. Love the deeper sounds don’t you? 😊❤

How do you hang a chime this big? Ours is about 15lbs, it has a deep chime but not as deep as yours. Its beautiful tho. I just wanna see how to hang it lol

It would be suggested that all the wind chime geeks use a streaming

Anyone driven insane by such beautiful chimes was already there. Chimes don't produce insanity, they reveal it. These are absolutely beautiful sounding.
True, and i think there is a difference between unmusical and musical windchimes.
I am sure cheap windchimes that arent tuned or not tuned well would be annoying.
