I'm surprised there was no sin for "Flawless." The song was good, but there's just one issue I have with it. Each of the Mane 6 has a bit where they sing about their flaws, but when it gets to Twilight, she basically just says "See, we're ALL flawed" instead of talking about a single flaw she has. This episode wants us to believe that all the Mane 6, even Twilight, has imperfections, but never bothers to talk about hers
That’s probably because the song had to be written to follow the time constraint and Twilight already had her solo at the start opening the song and it would be unfair to give her a second solo when the other ponies only get one each. While it is a little weird, she still outright says she is flawed.
She literally says "my mistakes are all written in ink". As in, they are there throughout the show. That was her line on her mistakes. She didn't directly describe any, but everyone knows what she means. Funnily enough, I'm surprised a sin wasn't removed for how great the song and visuals were.
Maybe because she’s the main character, she doesn’t need to recall her flaws because everypony (the audience) already gets the idea. I mean, who wants to remember the time her uncontrollable anxiety caused her to enchant a doll with a hostile amorism spell endangered all of Ponyville all because of one missed letter to Celestia?
@@theAstarrr That makes sense. Any flaw she has can be traced back in the form of every letter she’s penned to Celestia. 2:06 My headcannon is that this party cannon explosion is one of the cannons she put in the castle in "Castle Sweet Castle" that she forgot where she put them.
Every headcanon popular in the fandom but silenced by the show could be a great video idea, the same goes for all not right with equestria's law such as unicorns grabbing someone with magic not being classified as assault, and every "we need to sell more toys" thing which had an impact on the show like destruction of the golden oak library.
Let's not forget the awful message of "Only the kids who got the message we wanted them to get out of it matter." Focusing on your target audience is a good thing, acting like anyone else's opinions are nonsensical is not. Not to mention, there were other kids who DIDN'T get the message.
Heck yeah, Cinemare Sins times again! It goes without saying that "Fame and Misfortune" is one of the craziest episodes of not just season 7 but the entire FIM series. But the facial expressions that were made in this episode were both creepy and hilarious, Like when Rarity lost her mind and made "stress couture" I mean I felt bad for her but the face she made when Twilight and Starlight visited her was funny. Anyway, I absolutely loved "Flawless" it instantly became one of my all time favorite songs in the series just as it became a fan favorite for many others in the fandom!
I joined in 2012 right before S3 and left right before S5 premeiered in 2015. I returned to watching the show on 1/1/24 and fell back in love with this fandom. There will always be regret I hold by not being involved for eight years. But getting back into the show has ignited so much joy and magic into my life. Bronies are still a thing. MLPForums buzz, EQD still gets so many posts, the MLP subreddit had so much content. The fandom is nowhere as big now as it was in the 2010-2015 days. But knowing bronies and the fandom still exists in 2024 makes me truly believe it'll never fizzle out, much like the Star Trek fandom. I remember watching your "Everything Wrong With" back in 2013. An episode even I forgot existed. also, that BronyCon footage was peak and that after credits joke was well done. I know you've done these seemless edits since...at least 2014, but this one was GOOD.
When I first watched this episode, I honestly thought it was a botched critique of celebrity culture, it wasn’t until I looked back on all the references to popular and unpopular opinions in the brony fandom that I realized it was supposed to be a critique of the fandom itself (which, even then, fails miserably, especially considering the final takeaway is “we know that our true fans are the little girls” despite the fact that many of those same little girls, including myself, had grown up with the show and were old enough to also participate in the fandom) I feel bad for M.A. Larson, he just wanted to make something that had genuine nuance, but Hasbro wouldn’t let him
Here’s another sin: at about 5:04 of the episode, Twilight gives a journal to a colt at a book stand. Twilight walks away, and the colt appears to be flipping through the book with his horn (it’s glowing), however the book is still glowing the color of twilights magic.
People hate this episode, but I actually agree with what it's trying to say. We shouldn't try to criticize the show all the time or worry about the lore not being perfect. Just enjoy the show for what it is.

I think this episode would've been better if it'd shown both sides to the Brony fandom, instead of just 'all the adults are to blame, and the little girls are only TRUE fans.' Like, maybe in the midst of being overwhelmed by all the negativitity and overzealousness, the mane six found a group of ponies who made something constructive out of their love for the journal. Rarity inspires somepony to take up sewing, Applejack inspires somepony to start a garden, etcetera etcetera. Hell, the show ITSELF is essentialy fanwork. They could've had a real nice message about the pros and cons of what it means to be a fan of something, how not everybody will treat content or the creator with respect, but those who do could go on to create something even greater.
3:28 thinking about it... Dragons are winged, so they can walk on clouds, but... do wings comes with such abilities, therefore until you don't have it you can't walk on clouds? Shouldn't it be something a soon-to-be (naturally) winged creature should already have?
No, dragons can't walk on clouds. Smolder, who has wings, was one of the students that needed a cloud walking spell in order to walk on a cloud in the season 9 premiere (I believe that's the right season). So..
One rather minor thing i disliked with this episode was that everyone gets to know that Daring Do actually exists since Rainbow met her and wrote about her in the journal, but in episode 21 of season 9 entitled "Daring Doubt" no one seems to know that Daring exists anymore.
I love this episode so im happy have a sins video on it, glad to be here so early! I think people usually hate when their favorite episode has a sins video but I think it's fun. " you mearly adopted the cancel culture, Rarity was BORN IN IT MOLDED BY IT,"
6:09 I don’t want to be this person, but the whole show is translated from a language called Ponish, so this is probably just a translation that was edited to make it more appropriate for children. (She more likely originally said “I can’t even poop/pee without someone telling me how cool I am!” Which just makes it worse)
6:12 Going to the bathroom is actually just politely saying to someone that they have to go. Edit: Unless we see an actual bathroom, That means her comment still stands

One sin you forgot to mention was at the very end, when Twilight decided to just ignore the angry mob of ponies outside her castle. That's pretty much equivalent to a superhero just letting the whole world get destroyed without even bothering to stop the villain who is destroying it.
I know it's a bit away, but thought I'd give some ideas for when you cover "To Change a Changeling" Intro Quote: Starlight: "I know things didn't go well when we first met..." Pharinx: "I put you in a bag, I thought it went great." Punishment: Hitting Yourself Extra Jokes: Trixie: Repeating "Teleportation Spell, Go." Starlight: "Why do you keep trying that?" [Quote from TFS DBZ Abridged during the fight with Freiza, muffled from outside the bag] Krillin: "I'm an optimist." Piccolo: "You're an idiot." Pharinx: "Wow, so you're both losers. Stay away from me or I'll do to you what I did to the vines." [Insert joke about the Vine app no longer being in service.]
From what I remember of the song in this episode, it seemed to be trying to say that the characters' flaws were what made them work... Yeah, it just came off as Hasbro going "Oh, uh... the characters are SUPPOSED to be like that! They wouldn't work otherwise! You can't complain about these out of character moments because we can't remove them even though they don't work!" Mhm, nothing like refusing to address overlooked issues by claiming they were intentional...
best episode. blind bronies will always hate this episode because of how their own thoughts get perfectly mirrored and they realize how stupid it sounds. the "criticism" they keep asking for are trying to make the show perfect. but here's the thing- it's not SUPPOSED to be perfect. it's supposed to have flaws and the characters are supposed to have some traits that need to have some work on. but of course, grown old men will always whine like the show is supposed to be written for them. it's for kids to help cope with some flaws they might have and become a great friend. but no, the grown men have to cry about fictional ponies having imperfect personalities. how dare equestria reflect the real world. the way it ended is also perfect- the creators KNEW that the bronies wouldn't listen to them and would continue hating. thus, furthering the imperfection. it's not about making it nice and tidy, it's about making it real.

I didn’t realize how hated this episode was, it’s one of my favorites! I get really annoyed when people in fandoms fight about very small things and make them out as so much more than they are. Though I’ve definitely been guilty of this at times, it’s fun to see those people get roasted.
Also wait…. I just realized Spike isn’t in this episode like AT ALL not even referenced or cameoed in any way and I’m pretty sure he’s had an entry or two in that journal
@@Mirthful_Panda Not officially. I assume it's because the original writer (M.A. Larson) wrote the script with Spike, and when the new writing staff dusted off his old script, they may have been told by Hasbro to make Starlight more prominent because they wanted to market that character. That's usually how decisions are made under a company.
I really was disappointed that they never showed Starlight “dealing with” those ponies. Starlight is my favorite character *because* she never fully eradicated her dark side, which allows her to take things a step further than the more “pure” heroes. At least we got to see her defend Fluttershy.

Like, maybe in the midst of being overwhelmed by all the negativitity and overzealousness, the mane six found a group of ponies who made something constructive out of their love for the journal.
Yes finally I’ve been waiting for you to post this
You forgot to mention that 1. Pony, who criticized fluttershy for not being more assertive, was upset when she got assertive.
So..
@@diminie_chimket oh right forgot about that episode
7:38 legit made me laugh out loud
One rather minor thing i disliked with this episode was that everyone gets to know that Daring Do actually exists since Rainbow met her and wrote about her in the journal, but in episode 21 of season 9 entitled "Daring Doubt" no one seems to know that Daring exists anymore.
I love this episode so im happy have a sins video on it, glad to be here so early! I think people usually hate when their favorite episode has a sins video but I think it's fun. " you mearly adopted the cancel culture, Rarity was BORN IN IT MOLDED BY IT,"
Ah yes, the reverse slice of life episode.
I'd take at least two sins off for flawless being one of the best songs
This episode may suck, but Flawless is a genuine slap. That song is one of my favorite MLP songs.
The fact that the episode ends without solving the issue is just further proof that we don’t have to accept this episode as cannon, cuz it’s not-
6:09 I don’t want to be this person, but the whole show is translated from a language called Ponish, so this is probably just a translation that was edited to make it more appropriate for children. (She more likely originally said “I can’t even poop/pee without someone telling me how cool I am!” Which just makes it worse)
6:15 but wasn't there a wooden toilet in "The last Roundup" episode?
It was an outhouse. There's also one on Sweet Apple Acres land in The Perfect Pear.
That last edit had me laughing so hard dude 😂
6:12 Going to the bathroom is actually just politely saying to someone that they have to go.
Edit: Unless we see an actual bathroom, That means her comment still stands
4:45 When the Daniel Ingram pony said "Why can't I be in the book?" right next to Starlight, I was like "Oh no, poor choice of words".
you learn something new everyday. had no idea that's who that was supposed to be pretty neat tho
@@wokeamerica142 I don't know actually. I'm calling him that because the first time he appeared in Rarity Takes Manehattan, he was voiced by Daniel. But here he has a different voice and cutie mark so 🤷
3:45 right here the Crusaders say they are gonna make a Cutie Mark Summer Camp which foreshadows a later episode but in that later episode, they just come up with this NEW idea, even though they got the idea to start it from this episode so…..HUH? 😵💫
I love this episode because of the song flawless. That song is good and it is the best.
One sin you forgot to mention was at the very end, when Twilight decided to just ignore the angry mob of ponies outside her castle. That's pretty much equivalent to a superhero just letting the whole world get destroyed without even bothering to stop the villain who is destroying it.
I would say encountering 15 rudes peoples in one day is kind of unusual.
Ive been waiting for this video for the past year or two💀💀💀
Awesome job. Keep up the good work LittleShyFiM. Have a wonderful day.
7:53 I've been waiting for years to see that
I know it's a bit away, but thought I'd give some ideas for when you cover "To Change a Changeling"
Intro Quote:
Starlight: "I know things didn't go well when we first met..."
Pharinx: "I put you in a bag, I thought it went great."
Punishment: Hitting Yourself
Extra Jokes:
Trixie: Repeating "Teleportation Spell, Go."
Starlight: "Why do you keep trying that?"
[Quote from TFS DBZ Abridged during the fight with Freiza, muffled from outside the bag]
Krillin: "I'm an optimist."
Piccolo: "You're an idiot."
Pharinx: "Wow, so you're both losers. Stay away from me or I'll do to you what I did to the vines."
[Insert joke about the Vine app no longer being in service.]
That final sin perfectly sums up the biggest overall issue with this episode.
From what I remember of the song in this episode, it seemed to be trying to say that the characters' flaws were what made them work... Yeah, it just came off as Hasbro going "Oh, uh... the characters are SUPPOSED to be like that! They wouldn't work otherwise! You can't complain about these out of character moments because we can't remove them even though they don't work!"
Mhm, nothing like refusing to address overlooked issues by claiming they were intentional...
“Applejack liking Rarity is still more canon than Appledash”
Why would you say something so controversial yet so brave?
0:42 Which turns out to be actually better than a lot of season 8.
I thought this episode was great. It showed me what a fandom is and how some fans are stuck in their ways and you can't change their minds
This 8 minute video turned into 30 minutes for me over that hoof lore.
best episode. blind bronies will always hate this episode because of how their own thoughts get perfectly mirrored and they realize how stupid it sounds. the "criticism" they keep asking for are trying to make the show perfect. but here's the thing- it's not SUPPOSED to be perfect. it's supposed to have flaws and the characters are supposed to have some traits that need to have some work on. but of course, grown old men will always whine like the show is supposed to be written for them. it's for kids to help cope with some flaws they might have and become a great friend. but no, the grown men have to cry about fictional ponies having imperfect personalities. how dare equestria reflect the real world. the way it ended is also perfect- the creators KNEW that the bronies wouldn't listen to them and would continue hating. thus, furthering the imperfection. it's not about making it nice and tidy, it's about making it real.
Everything Slice of Life was, this was not. The pandas are no more. They've been taken out back and shot in the head by Fame and Misfortune.
“Still more canon than Appledash.”
Watch yo tone mf
Этот эпизод весьма тонко стебёт типичных фанатов, которые угадываются в читателях Книги. А мораль в конце серии очень глубока! А ещё песня в серии просто протрясающая!
6:53 your right Derpy is the best
4:24 this always bothered me SO much. The fact that rainbow dash leaked daring do's existence is never mentioned or even given any thought ever again!
Im shocked they didn't touch on the shipping and "art"

its crazy you guys i still making these! i watched these when i was 6!!!!
0:10 wow. 2 hidden Alicorns within 10 seconds flat.
That's an academy record.
For thise confused by this joke, I'm writing a fanfic where it's revealed there's lots of Alicorns hidden throughout Equestria due to ponies thinking they've broken a taboo about becoming royalty and so hide it
6:17 that’s the most hilarious post I’ve ever seen😂
Aw, I hoped the outro outtakes would make a joke about Dash saying she's a BIG SHOT during the Flawless song.
I didn’t realize how hated this episode was, it’s one of my favorites! I get really annoyed when people in fandoms fight about very small things and make them out as so much more than they are. Though I’ve definitely been guilty of this at times, it’s fun to see those people get roasted.
Amen
Also wait…. I just realized Spike isn’t in this episode like AT ALL not even referenced or cameoed in any way and I’m pretty sure he’s had an entry or two in that journal
Starlight's role in this episode was originally Spike's.
@@tomspiegel5322 do you know why it was changed?
@@Mirthful_Panda Not officially. I assume it's because the original writer (M.A. Larson) wrote the script with Spike, and when the new writing staff dusted off his old script, they may have been told by Hasbro to make Starlight more prominent because they wanted to market that character. That's usually how decisions are made under a company.
@@tomspiegel5322 ah I see
0:06 when you have no ideas for a convention cosplay:
Fun fact: the time between season 4 & 7 are atleast months up to a couple years apart
I really was disappointed that they never showed Starlight “dealing with” those ponies. Starlight is my favorite character *because* she never fully eradicated her dark side, which allows her to take things a step further than the more “pure” heroes. At least we got to see her defend Fluttershy.
great video as always
Maybe they attached the letters they sent to princess celestia to the journal, thats the only plausible explanation i can think of lol
Tiktrot?
That deserved a Patrick BOO!
This episode is just one big middle finger to the fandom, which is hilarious to me.
This is clearly a middle finger to the older fans
Which is understandable
