So excited to see you react to VoicePlay. They were on the sing off with Home Free. Check out the version of "Survivor" Zombies vs. Hillbillies-Voiceplay vs Home Free. Also, their Queen in 5 Minutes, Tennessee Whiskey, If I Were A Rich Man/Girl, Bang, Warriors, and You're My Best Friend. Them from Nightmare Before Christmas "Oogie Boogie's Song, This is Halloween, and Kidnap Santa Claws. This group is the theatre kids of a cappella. But really you can't go wrong with any of there music
They very much love to have fun. I personally love their Little Mermaid Medley (also features Rachel Potter). My overall favorite I think is Boy Bands in 5 Minutes. Their covers of Unchained Melody and Go the Distance from Hercules are amazing as well.
I highly reccoment checking out their newest release of If were a rich Man/Girl. It's honestly one of my favorites of theirs. Keep up the great reactions bro! Loving the vids!
The do loads of collaborations. Check their Just Sing video with captions on to see a lot of the other artists that they have worked along. Also Zombies vs. Hillbillies is the Voiceplay and Homefree collaboration.
Great reaction, thank you. You nailed it... other a cappella groups have tight harmonies etc., but VoicePlay knows how to PLAY. They are endlessly entertaining. Anytime I listen to them it lifts my mood. No favorite, all good.... but would LOVE to see you respond to Warriors. And sometime, just for giggles, add Mr. Sandman as a double feature... it's a mini and under 50 seconds, what could go wrong? (laughs quietly) Bass is Geoff, beatbox is Layne, tenor with glasses is Eli (pronounced El eee). The other guy, Earl at the far right, left last summer, but you'll hear his high tenor in all of their stuff before last summer. Looking forward to seeing more reactions!
Love your reactions. Definitely need more voiceplay. All their medleys, boy band in five minutes, wicked medley, queen in 5 mins, the greatest showman, the little mermaid medley are brilliant. Plus all their other covers, carry on wayward son, nothing else matters, dream on, warriors, enemy and many more
All their stuff is amazing. I love their medleys and if you want to get bass slapped, I'll second Oogie Boogie Song. Check out 'My Mother Told Me' they did fairly recently. Also Geoff's solo stuff is just as amazing. **EDIT** Their Little Mermaid medley you'll like as well.
@@DrummingwithJarvis I'm a huge fan of versatile voices which is why I'm such a fan of VoicePlay, Pentatonix, and Home Free. You should also check out the VoicePlay/Rachel Potter collab for Phanton of the Opera from like 5 years ago.
Their Little Mermaid Medly next. She has that Disney's voice. Congratulations you're about to fall down the VoicePlay and Geoff Castellucci rabbit hole. Join the party.
Have you noticed their newest cover of Hoist The Colours?? Ooooomg it is EPIC! The harmonies, the theatrics, the dynamics, etc.. It’s outstanding. I think I may have already commented on this one but... Great reaction! 🥰
They did a song called "Just Sing" which is my absolute favorites of theirs. Its uplifting, and it features a lot of other voices in the a capella community. Its brilliant, and makes you feel good, too. Great reaction. My honor to subscribe, sir.
Great job breaking down this performance, there is usually a lot going on in the background of their videos and they like to add humorous bits quite often. Scrolling through the comments I see the same requests as always, & they are phenomenal videos . I feel like ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’, ‘Eleanor Rigby’, ‘Attention’, ‘Bang’, ‘Man In The Mirror’ don’t get the love they deserve. Really though, you could put all their titles on a board & throw a dart 🎯 to choose and you’ll have a winner. Stay safe and stay. 😎✌🏻🤟🏻🖖🏻🤙🏻
VoicePlay is the third leg of the trinity of contemporary acapella. Well worth diving into their other material. And also Geoff's (the base) solo stuff
You and the Charismatic voice are my fave reaction reviewers…love the way ya’ll react to and explain the it’s…awesome. If you liked Moana, try Oogie Boogie or some of the bass singer’s, Geoff Castalucci, solo stuff…Misty Mountain Cold, Sixteen Tons, and Take are Home Country Roads are my faves!
They just dropped a cover of "Hoist The Colours" from Pirates of the Caribbean. It's insane. One of, if not their best so far. They love to arrange their songs based on the subject matter and they almost always dress and act accordingly. This is one of their older arrangements. It's great, but you should definitely hit some new stuff to see where they are now. I always feel a higher level of respect for their work when I hear an older one because I know how much work they had to put in the make the strides they have. Can't wait to hear more Voiceplay BANGERS!
Literally every song they do is gold, but my personal top 3 from them are Oogie Boogie’s Song, My Mother Told Me, and The Little Mermaid Medley. The bass voice Geoff Castellucci has his own solo channel as well, his top 3 are Sixteen Tons, Blackbird, and Misty Mountains Cold. Their talent is unreal
Great points you made about the performance. Arranged by Layne Stein, the beatboxer, he was the mastermind behind many of those elements you discussed. Another one he arranged, with the same featured artist Rachel, is their Little Mermaid Medley. Some amazing choices in that arrangement as well, including Geoff as an atypical Ursula, and a very fun solo by Layne! Check it out!
Voiceplay is based in the Orlando area and did the theme park/cruise ship circuit for a number of years, so the theatrical thing is one of their marketing points.
My personal favorite is Queen in 5 minutes. They are great, as they live in the Orlando Florida area they have worked at a lot of the theme parks in the area. More of a theatrical vibe. Also love their version of My Mother Told Me (Viking vibe) and Warriors (cover of Imagine Dragons). Their stuff is great! Thanks for your reaction 😎👍
They have had several personnel changes over time, for various reasons. Eli (pronounced L-E), the little bald guy, Geoff, the bass, and Layne, the beat boxer and arranger extraordinaire, are all originals. Earl, the high tenor (although he had a baritone solo here) is an original, but left the group last year, but was an integral part of their sound for a long time. They also just recently lost J. None, who came in later, and left earlier this year to pursue an outside opportunity, but promised to come back. I would recommend, Oogie Boogie's song, from Tim Burton's The Nightmare before Christmas. Don't let the word Christmas throw you off, it is appropriate year-round. Also, look into My Mother Told Me, which came from the mini-series Vikings.
All right, I'm gonna throw a lot of information at you. First, Pentatonix, Home Free, and VoicePlay all got their big break from the reality acapella competition The Sing Off. Pentatonix won season 3, Home Free won season 4, and VoicePlay got 5th/6th place during the same season as Home Free. Adam Chance, the baritone/backup bass for Home Free, was also on season 2 of The Sing Off with his old group Street Corner Symphony. I would suggest reacting not only to all of their stuff on The Sing Off, but pretty much the entirety of The Sing Off competition (all 5 seasons of it). The whole series is not as long as it sounds as there weren't that many episodes per season (except for Pentatonix's season). Also, there's a running joke that Geoff (VoicePlay's bass) and Tim from Home Free are actually the same person. Second, there are a lot of VoicePlay videos you can react to. So, here's some suggestions: Oogie Boogie's Song, Frozen II Medley, Can't Help Falling in Love, Just Sing, The Little Mermaid Medley, The Phantom of the Opera, Queen in Five Minutes, Boy Bands in Five Minutes, and so much more. Third, Geoff (VoicePlay's bass) has his own channel where he does covers himself (with the occasional guest/s) so you should react to his videos (anyone is good really). Austin (the lead tenor in Home Free) also has his own channel with a bunch of really good covers that you should react to (once again, anyone is good). Finally, if you're still interested in other good acapella groups, I'd recommend an all-female group called Citizen Queen that was found by Scott, the baritone from Pentatonix. They're much younger than the other big acapella groups, and, because of that, have a bit of a different energy and image than the others. They're not quite on the same tier as Home Free, Pentatonix, VoicePlay, and Voctave yet, but, with time to gel together, they can get there if they're hungry enough! OK, now that my enormous comment is almost over, I will say that I enjoy your reactions!
Geoff (the bass) as Ursula is to die for in the Little Mermaid Medley... and Rachel Potter comes back for that one as well. They have a lot of great covers, and Geoff records his own low bass mixes (Far Over Misty Mountains Cold (the Hobbit), Sixteen Tons, Blackbird... quite a few actually, look up Geoff Castellucci.) Other good songs: Carry on Wayward Son, We're Good, Warriors, and Oogie Boogie song (From Nightmare Before Christmas) just to name a few. Other awesome covers by VP (w/ Ms Potter as well): Phantom of the Opera and Attention... they have a lot and a specific list just for her cuz they collab so much. EDIT: How'd I forget My Mother Told Me!? I re-subbed to you... don't know why, I was subbed back months ago, then bam, stopped seeing videos of yours in my feed and just realized I wasn't subbed anymore... Stupid YT...
The Little Mermaid Medley is really good and Oogie Boogie really shows off Geoff's range along with the versatility in voice acting (voice play) they do. If you would like to see Geoff on his own Far over the Misty Mountain Cold is excellent.
Try their Kiss cover, Wayward Son, Tennessee Whiskey, Bridge Over Trouble Water, Attention and Phantom of the Opera, The Bones. Also their skit Road Trip.
They do a whole series of Nightmare Before Christmas songs but Oogie Boogie song is a fan fave. I second My Mother Told Me as well. For solo Geoff also check out Headless Horsemen.

Their newest one, "If I was a Rich man/girl" is phenomenal
That one was soo good!
😊😊😊😊 IM excited
Thirding, I think you'd enjoy that one
Geoff has a 5+ octave range. A good song to react to is the Oogie Boogie song. Geoff, Tim and Avi are all good friends.
Oogie Boogie is a show piece for Geoff and a lot of fun but doesn't really show VoicePlay's brilliant harmonies or their vocal ranges..
Crazy vocal rangE
Hey Jarvis, Oogie Boogie would be a great Halloween reaction for you. ;) ♥
Yes, If I Were a Rich Man/Girl and My Mother Told Me. And also Warriors!
