Played v rising on ea release for 300h, was pretty decent with my chaos build. Then stopped playing until 2 weeks ago. I must say that for me as a competitive player that liked the old full spell power build it was and still is pretty daunting to think about using all weapons. I played 100h in the last 2 weeks in prep for 1.0. 70-80 were on a private server with my 2 mates to see what gloomrot changed and the rest were us 3 fighting 1v1s in v arena. Its obviously not optimal since we are all on same-ish skilllevel but the before and after is still significant. I have trouble to switch in the heat of a fight but im able to use 2-3 weapons (axe, gs, spear) pretty decently now. My biggest problem is finding keys to use more then 3 weapons and the musclememory to actually perform thos swaps. For spells... we found our fav builds and know a bit of their strenghts and weaknesses. For me as im still heavily spell focused i prefer chaos volley or void in combination with discharge. I also watched every video from u and other v rising pvp content creators sohuge thanks for all those nice videos. Im looking forward to see more of then after 1.0 release
Thanks I'm happy to hear you're enjoying the videos :D Gloomrots been very physical power focus throughout so hopefully we'll have a bit of a shift in 1.0 that sees builds like yours become a bit better As for weapon swaps it is tricky to adjust when first getting used to adding them in - if you have any mouse buttons free I recommend trying trying to use those as well. My bindings on hotbar are 12345 H(bound to mouse) zc
One tip I would give when choosing number key bindings for example, is to figure out the most used skill (Q or E) of a weapon and bind to a key that is diagonal from it. E.g. don't put spear on 1 because pressing 1 and then Q is much more awkward then pressing 3 and then Q. Pistol would be a good choice for 1 because you only use the E ability. This tip helped me a lot!
For sure can attest to the V Arena speed boost in experience. You simply can't get as much experience elsewhere. You'll see huge improvement in even a single session of playing when you put your mind to it, let alone a week or 2. The mechanics come surprisingly quickly when it's the entire point of what you're doing. Even if you were to stop grinding after getting used to swapping with even a moderate amount of weapons, you'll be head and shoulders above the majority of players in this game. I managed to get comfortable with all weapons in a couple weeks of casually playing a couple hours every other day or so. Long way to go but it's wild to experience the difference from first starting and then getting better and playing someone else who is first starting. It's like playing a completely different game.
There is one difference between varena server and the others. Maybe someone of you had same problem and found a result. While im in heat of the fight sometimes happens a shitty thing to me. I mean im pressing 2 times same button. If it's a button with weapon that makes me trouble, cuz i am weaponless for a second. On Varena server it doesn't work like that(weapon is kinda locked) If there is an option or smth to lock weapon on a button and u know that, let me know. Thank you for any tips in advance. :)
Theres not a server setting for this as far as Im aware but if you go into options > HUD there is one called toggle equip mode. If you turn this off then you won't swap to weaponless if you press a weapon twice
I tried getting into PvP but honestly everyone I met thus far when I tried doing combos were so far ahead I couldnt do anything let alone even hit them lol (My main problems are though that I missclick sometimes between R and C or click E by accident dont know why since C seems more intuitive, or I get stun locked into oblivion while missing every skill) Edit: This kinda makes me wish V-Rising had an option to set dummies that move to try and combo skills on them
It’s a tricky learning curve to get into but try stick at it. Combos and everything becomes muscle memory eventually. It’s a rough time starting out vs experienced players youre lose a lot but that happens to everyone myself included whilst learning
Is V Arena a modded server we have to download in the internet or we can join in game? Im planning on buying the game on v1.0 release. Ive watched streamers before playing it on release and the gloomrot dlc, and i liked it but i didnt play because i was waiting for the full release
weapon swapping should be abolished, everytime you swap make animation like drinking potion. if you can have 8 weapons, why can't you have 8 spells then
@@loadscreen1011 yeah absolutely agree. Another alternative would be, you know how when you want to heal you have to stand still and wait for the animation to happen - do that same thing for weapon equip. Your first one equips instantly, sure, but if you want to swap to something else you have to wait for an animation.
@@CheyFos I’m not sure what the servers are like for ps5 but unfortunately there is no varena there 😓 players may have set up something similar but it wouldn’t be with mods
@@chappllgr I'm new to pvp and looking to make a healer/tank build. I know brute blood is good for healing but movement speed is slow. Maybe I could use dracula shadow gear with it for movement speed? I know blood fountain is good too
@@CheyFos Unfortunately brute blood is quite bad even for this kind of build that you would think would get good value from it. This is actually the number 1 build in the game at the moment for both open world and arena PVP and is by far the most common right now among top players. No extra downloads/mods required it's just a server you can join like any other :)
I'm curious how good weapon swapping will be in 1.0
It will certainly still be good but I can imagine seeing more viable play styles with solo weapons opening up

I can't join the servers either
do I have to cary a lot of weopons ?
