This series wouldn't be complete without this song included. It's my favorite RR-era Ozzy song/solo so when Mike told me it was one of 3 songs on his "to do" list, it was time to tackle this song. Dino and I had been waiting for a song to do with MP and since the BPMD record had come out and I wanted to wait a bit before doing another with him.
This needs to be epic and although having Marta handle the piano/synth bells/vocoder parts was going to be legit, I wanted something filling more space and immediately asked Julie (who killed it on "Falling" for us) to add as much as she wanted and see what she would come up with. Having these 2 on this song with their ideas and performance makes it incredible.
We needed a Bass player and I shot for the moon. Rudy is the most professional, courteous, polite, capable and compassionate musician I've worked with and as he said "of course, I'd be honored" I knew it was going to be special, in many ways.
It's no secret Randy is my favorite musician. His passion for not only music but also for performing has struck something with me and I'm paying tribute in this way to maybe inspire others to follow his life's work. With some of my earlier Jams I recorded single/pass tracks, but with this one I wanted it to respect it as he would. 2 rhythm, 2 6-string acoustic, 2 solo, 1 12-string and 1 nylon-string tracks later, I hope you all enjoy what the 6 of us accomplished.

This is awesome on all fronts. Dino's voice is out of this world... Love the arrangement too. Faithful Randy licks and guitar sound is so close to the original! Long live Randy! 🙌

Speechless. This song was so far ahead of it's time it's ridiculous. I can't believe it's been 40 years since they recorded it and still stands that test of time today. A true masterpiece and culmination of Randy's work during his short lived career. Thanks for covering this. And the "Over the Mountain ending..." perfect.

Since Randy died Jake E Lee, Tommy Aldridge, Sarzo and Don Airey only musicians who could do justice to those original recordings. Nobody else came close that I’ve ever heard.. Still to this day. This isn’t even in the same ballpark.

Rudy is one of the the nicest , most
humble persons to meet.
He REALLY, REALLY IS. He never gets enough recognition when you think of all the amazing bands he played with.
He escaped Castro's Cuba with his parents as a kid, which makes me so happy for his ultimate destiny.
His kindness and unselfish way he continues to take interviews to talk about Randy and not his GREAT career is astonishing. He was asked to come on that plane ride by Randy, and Who knows what would have happened.
Looking back I'm sure it Pains him to no end that he didn't tell RANDY to skip it and get some extra sleep along with him.
He watched his close friend die over a decision to trust a Horrible and selfish person, who had a suspended pilots license and took someone's airplane without permission, and was on drugs.
He was afraid of flying but wanted to take some pictures for his dear mom.
If he knew all these things, you
Couldn't do pay Randy a million dollars to get on that plane. Just in case anyone thinks Randy made money off those tours and two albums, just know......he was an employee of Ozzy Osbourne and made 600 dollars a week.

I felt like falling into a parallel universe with this exquisite piece but different authors. But then I realized it was the joint effect listening the reveleations song....
That was great. I never heard of Dino and Demmel until COVID Jams. They are old school metal, and they get the old school talent as well. This is impressive, they don't overdo the original, nothing flashy, and excellent quality recording.
Amazing performance of a very cool song. I met Rudy Sarzo at the airport a few years ago after recognizing him in the customs line. We spoke for a good 20 minutes while waiting to get on a flight to LAX. He was very humble and a true gentleman, and I’ll never forget it. I had first seen him with Ozzy, just after Randy’s tragic passing, the show was unreal , I’d never seen anything like it. It’s always a true pleasure to watch him perform.
