Jordan, I appreciate seeing the birthplace of Superman. Hats off to the current owner of the house in continuing to pay homage to the super hero. Seeing the original illustration by Joe Shuster was a treat.
I Loved Superman when I was a little girl.. My uncle told everyone, my children included, that when I was little swinging high in the swings, I looked at him and said, "Look Uncle Buddy, I'm Superman!".. Thank You, Jordan, for bringing back sweet memories!
As a kid in the 1950's, I looked forward to every new issue of the Superman comics. I remember friends with foot lockers filled with issues and we'd read through them over and over. Just plain good fun experiencing them.
I love the write ups on the plaques! What an inspiring story of 2 friends with creative imaginations. Thank you for sharing this story. Another great vlog in Ohio!
Kudos to the owners for keeping the history alive and honoring the creators. What a great back story. Loved the display on the fence, great reminder of who lived there. Learned alot today.
It's sad to see beautiful areas in such disrepair. But good to see life still buzzing in those areas. What a great vlog today, very informative! Take care
Very cool Superman Vlog Jordan! I was never into comics either, but started watching the Superman series growing up with George Reeves. I have seen all the Superman movies and Smallville. It was great and interesting seeing the humble beginnings of a "Super Hero". Loving the "Travel Vlogs". As always.... Thanks Jordan! Keep doing what you love!
Pretty cool vlog! I grew up watching Superman on TV since I have an older brother who was into that. Like you I was never that into him until I saw Christopher Reeves in those tights!! Whoa! LOL! Hard to believe he and Margot Kidder are both gone. Christopher will always be my Superman. Some of those homes were beautiful in their prime and now are so hard to look at. So sad. Thanks for another great history lesson from Ohio!
Thanks Jordan, I really enjoy the research you do for each vlog. I feel like I'm getting a history lesson everyday. I just love superman and now I know where he was conceived.☺
Wow! That’s really cool about the comic recreated on the fence! Jerry looks kinda like Clark Kent in the photo of him in the Army uniform and glasses! I loved comic books back in the’50s&60s. How wonderful of the owners of Joe’s house to keep the memories alive and thank YOU for telling us about everything!🥰
Great to see the birthplace of Superman. Such a shame alot of the beautiful old houses in that area are in such need of repair. I like the Lois Lane touch. Great vlog Jordan.
This is a super vlog I sometimes wonder if people know the home they live in was once owned by someone famous, yup supercool vlog by a super guy named Jordan. Some of the homes you vlogged are nice but in disrepair Superman would fix them. Tyvm Joe and Jerry for creating Superman
This was GREAT! The fence was absolutely awesome. It's fascinating that something so iconic started with ideas from two high school buddies who believed in their story and art so strongly. A true American Dream. Well done Jordan, SUPER cool.
I love this because I grew up watching Superman. George Reeves of course. I'm glad the house owners are proud of who lived there. You don't see that every day! Peace!!
Great vlog. Sorry to see how run down Cleveland is. It wasn't much better in 2007 when I was there. Interesting story. Glad to see they fixed the fences and replaced the panels. Thanks for the wonderful vlog and can't wait to see where we go tomorrow. Take Care.
Thanks Jordon for this informative vlog. I’m not much of a comic strip fan either but as a child enjoyed watching the Superman series with George Reeves. They still show the TV version on ch. 20 in California. Those historical plaques had a wealth of information. ❤️🙏🏻
Wow! I was not aware these two guys (Shuster/Siegel), whom were also from Cleveland ,created "Suoerman." I collect classic comic 📚. Thank you Jordan for giving us these historical facts.
Love this vlog! CLE is such an awesome city, so much history, and going on! Go to Malley's Chocolates-Ice Cream Parlor..they serve superman ice cream..(being from New England) we didn't know what superman ice cream was...yum! So many small parts of CLE that have great history! Thank you for including this! We didn't go by this house, so this is awesome-next trek-love how they are preserving their home. Love what the current homeowner has done with the comic panels. Ty Sharing so awesome!!
Shuster created superman and is Canadian (born in Toronto,Ontario)--siegel was the writer and helped co-create superman. Shuster is in the Canadian comic book hall of fame! I have that action comic #1...was given to me in 1974 as a reward from an old businessman after i found and returned his wallet.i was 8 at the time...a good deed done is indeed a treasure!
Great vlog Jordan...i was born in Ohio and my grandparents on my dad's side are buried in Cleveland...hopefully one day I can go back to Ohio and see this, pretty awesome, loved the superman comics
This was such a treat! Brought back many wonderful memories. I clearly remember watching Superman in the 1950's on the black and white TV set. We looked forward to seeing that every week. All went well until we tied on our capes and proceeded to try to fly off the high porch. As we were very small, even though it was only four feet up, the fall down came pretty hard. Didn't try that again. 😭😭😭
Patricia D. Nope, I should say not! I tried flying off the top part of a swing set apparatus with an umbrella that collapsed on the way down. Well, at least we’re both alive to tell the story. 😳
@@esthergarcia1373 I took my uncle's huge black umbrella outside in a wind storm after hearing the story of Mary Poppins. I got in trouble when it turned inside out and was ruined. I was disappointed I couldn't fly in the air like she did. I think that was the last silly thing I did as a little girl. 😊
Great vlog! Yes! Superman was born here! It is ashame what happened to the glennville neighbor hood 😥I grew up not too far from there ... Lots of interesting facts! SUPERMAN !LIVES ON!
Actually, no one has disturbed that display for many years now! Which is a good thing considering that Amor @ Parklane is location in more of our most lived in areas of the east side of Cleveland!!
Another good one! I was always under the impression that superman was created in Canada due to a commercial on Canadian tv. Now i see that one of them is from Canada. So maybe i misinterpreted the commercial. Lol. Thanks again Jordan!
I'm a superman fan too. Concerning Joe Shuster's house--I see what the sign there says, but a couple of recent biographies said that the house there on the corner in your video is actually Shuster's but has been remodeled over the years from a multi-family to a single family building.
The city must also care I noticed in the video they put up guard rails to protect the fence. Also our any of these spots Historic landmarks they should be. Great vlog Jordan
Hola Jordan, superman that great you did a great job Jordan thank you so much for sharing and happy new year to you and jah and your family besos from Puerto Rico ❤💕👍
Oh yes I am a big Superman fan! Btw, I had trouble spotting you in that parks and rec episode. I think I saw ya tho but not too sure. Anyway, thanks again for this vlog! 😉
This one is very cool. My real name is Christopher Reeves. Born in Ohio not too far from Cleveland. I collect Superman stuff and I have a bunch of stuff, so this one was neat to relate. I would like to see more of Superman history, so cool to see and learn more about. I seen a little about the George Reeves story and the house he died in, also a good story. Keep up the awesome work man!!
Dude, I still have the "Death of Superman" comics we bought in grade school. It might just now be worth as much as it cost to produce (with the pretty gold cover).
I used to love Superman comics, and I never kept them because my mother was an anti-hoarder. If you look up kryptonite, you would discover there were many different colors of kryptonite. Those yellow things could be gold kryptonite which would have taken Superman's powers away permanently. Yikes. I sure enjoyed this vlog. Thanks, Jordan.
What's very sad is that while this is a good piece you showed the worse houses in Cleveland. Right around the corner and in many of this great Glenville area are still homes that are beautiful. There are a lot of homeowners living in the Glenville area. The city of Cleveland have been tearing down homes by the hundreds in order to rebuild the city but again right around the corner were beautiful homes and streets full of beauty especially with Bratenahl's mansions less than 120 seconds down the street closer to the Lake and East Boulevard full of lovely majestic homes. I currently live in the neighborhood and my grandparents were one of the first black families to purchase a home on Kimberly in 1944. My mom went to school with a majority Jewish population so I have seen the beauty and the destruction and now the revitalization of this great area in Cleveland.
Really loved this vlog, Jordan! I lived near Cleveland during the 70's and enjoyed your "Adventures of Cleveland landmarks". I believe a Max Fleischer "Superman" cartoon, "The Mechanical Monsters"(1941), was the first time Clark Kent went into a phone booth to change. The comics started showing this about a year later. Still iconic though. My first Superman exposure was the old George Reeves' "The Adventures of Superman". The "planet" storage room or an alley was often used for the "transformation". A very good vlog, Jordan!
I always learn something new when I watch Jordan's vlogs!
At 10:22, you have Joe Simone and Jack Kirby, the creators of Capt. America! They also did work for DC. The Boy Commandos is page on the table!
I loved hearing about the history of such an iconic superhero! It is great that to this day, they honor Jerry and Joe. Thank you for sharing!!
Take care
We Did This Vlog.. It Was A lot Of Fun. It Means A Lot As A Fan Of Superman To See Where It All Started... Thanks For Sharing It With The World Sir...

A beautiful idea to put that on the fence. Thank you, Jordan. So nice to hear ad see the history of it all. Happy New Year!
Thanks Jordan, I really enjoy the research you do for each vlog. I feel like I'm getting a history lesson everyday. I just love superman and now I know where he was conceived.☺
Love it! Superman: The Movie (1978) is my favorite movie of all time. It came out when I was 10 and I still find it magical.

How cool! The Cleveland airport had a display on Superman in the baggage claim area a couple of years ago. Not sure if it's still there though
Great to see the birthplace of Superman. Such a shame alot of the beautiful old houses in that area are in such need of repair. I like the Lois Lane touch. Great vlog Jordan.

Wow I loved Superman as a kid!! its so cool to see where he was born! Thanks Jordan for your continual awesome work!!
This was GREAT! The fence was absolutely awesome. It's fascinating that something so iconic started with ideas from two high school buddies who believed in their story and art so strongly. A true American Dream. Well done Jordan, SUPER cool.
A true labor of love in the creating of Superman. Amor Street sign where the historic houses are found means “love” in Spanish. ❤️
Had no idea! A Clark Kent history journey. Thanks!
I stayed right on Buckeye in Cleveland and loved visiting that site each Christmas
Wow!! I love Superman! I love watching this!!
This was so amazing, ty so much for sharing it with us. Be safe.
Such an in depth history content on the creators Jordan. WOW!! 14 page long comic book. Nice touch with the fence line. "SUPER VLOG"
So neat. Felt like we were standing right next to you on the corner taking it in. Thanks, Jordan.
Another great vlog, I learned something new again 😊😊😊.
Enjoyed this Jordan. Grew up with television version. Belinda

I have read the Superman comics as a kid and still am a fan! Very cool place! Did you know the very first comic of Superman is worth millions now!
My father brought home the first T.V. in the neighborhood. The first show we saw was Superman.
Great vlog Jordan. If you are still in Cleveland go to the West Side Market on W 25th street. It is amazing
Wow! I was not aware these two guys (Shuster/Siegel), whom were also from Cleveland ,created "Suoerman." I collect classic comic 📚. Thank you Jordan for giving us these historical facts.
We go through Metropolis, IL. on our way from Tennessee, when I go home to my hometown in northern IL. It is cool to see!

Just watched my 'Dose Of Jordan The Lion.'. Allllll good ! Fun and entertaining ! Thank You Jordan.. also love the pics on Instagram too : )
I loved the TV series. I like the background history you give.
I am always seeking comic books at yard/garage sales. You never know, AC 1 may reveal itself.

😱😔 I hate people who destroy everything and don’t have respect for old or new things. So sad their parents didn’t teach them care. 💔
