The band Phish used the hot dog to fly over the crowd at the Boston Garden for New Years Eve 94 as a gag. They then used it to drive through a crowd of 80k fans for their Big Cypress festival at the NYE millennium in the Everglades. They then played a 7+ hour set until the sunrise nonstop, probably the longest set of music in Rock history.
I saw U2 during the Achtung Baby tour as well. It was the show they broadcast live at the MTV music awards from MI. The guys from Wayne’s World introduced it. My friends swore they saw me waving a black scarf around on tv, which I was. Good times. 😂
Thanks, Jacob! Wonderful presentation! Music in our hearts, minds and memories! We always wanted to see R&R Hall of Fame up close and personal. You made it possible.
As a drummer, seeing you play a little bit on the kit brought a smile on my face! Thanks for showing the Rock Hall! I haven't been there in a few years and it looks like they've got some new exhibits. The Dead Head in me also appreciates you taking the time to look at Jerry's digital art, what a wonderful display! To answer your question on that double-necked Gibson SG: the top portion is a 12 string guitar, while the bottom half is a standard 6 string. It just gives the guitarist more flexibility in the sounds they can produce without having to switch out for each separate guitar.
A buddy of mine and I happened to be in Cleveland at the same time as the ground breaking ceremony was happening, and Chuck Berry was playing, so of course we went. Somehow, we got separated in the crowd. I wound up pretty far back in the crowd, and my buddy had weaseled his way to the front, and got to shake Chucks hand, the ratfink. But I can say that I saw Chuck Berry play at the ground breaking of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Once in a lifetime, baby.
Bruce Dickinson wore that jacket during the Somewhere On Tour tour from 1986-1987! Glad to see it is still around! And I believe the Dimebag guitar was used in 1994 during Far Beyond Driven ?Very cool!
Totally agree that Keith Richards is the epitome of living hard and fast but hanging on to life through everything but he's actually clean now! he hasn't been smoking of drinking for 2 years now, and thank god, we need him for at least another 80 years haha
Believe it or not I first heard about the Drive by Truckers from you, back when the carpetbagger was a photo blog. They are one of my favorite bands now also.
You should of took Jen with you there. Almost all the episodes she has been in with you she had a Rock shirt on. You did a great job showing us The Rock&Roll Hall of Fame. RIP Naomi Judd
Another place to definitely add to bucket list. Seeing the Grunge Exhibit and hip hop exhibit was so Awesome. The coolest thing about being a 80s baby you got to love all types of music due to 80s music wave. The Pink Floyd wall was Everything. And Im a huge Ramones fan. Another Great Vlog Jacob. Thanks for going there.
Yeah, do you suppose Jacob might someday run out of stuff? (I sure hope not.) I noticed that Jacob, Adam, Jordan and others are careful not to overlap each other's work. Gentlemen, all.
Thank you for the wonderful tour of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I always wanted to see it and thought I never would. Thought there would be a little more Beatles things through the stages they went through. Great job Keep Safe ❤Keep Well❤
I read somewhere that the double-necked guitar was originally invented for young virtuoso named Larry Collins, whose arms weren't quite long enough to reach all the frets on a regular guitar. He was only like 10 years old at the time. Larry & his sister, Lorrie, performed together as the Collins Kids, & were quite popular in the late 50s, & Larry later went on to co-write the song, 'Delta Dawn', which was a huge hit for Tanya Tucker. Larry's still around, but I think he's retired. Lorried died a few years ago.
This place is cool. I was here back in 2019 before Covid. The Elvis display was busy, but then you get to the Beatles exhibit and it was 10 times more busy than the Elvis exhibit
I could see Jacob making his own band and gathering band members like Bigfoot, Robert Wadlow, Zoltar, or whoever and whatever from his travels. Not sure what songs they would play or the band's name. The Baggers?
18:30 that guitar has seen Dimebag murdered onstage December 8th 2004. it was knocked to the ground when the murderer was shooting out into the crowd and taking the drum technician as a hostage. The rock and roll Hall of Fame should REALLY include that tidbit on the plaque.
So awesome to see that the part of the museum where you can try the instruments was sponsored by Sweetwater! They're based here in Fort Wayne, IN, and have done lots of great things for our community!
I love the Misfits, actually back in the days of WCW wrestling the wrestler called Vampiro, came to the ring accompanied by the Misfits. A little while later Jerry Only started wrestling in WCW.
I went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Able Trek tours. Which The Beatles exhibit was my favorite. And I bought a Beatles magnets and a Beatles t-shirt.
Fun fact: if you look at the Rock Hall of Fame from overhead it looks like a turntable, complete with arm and needle. If you're still in the Cleveland area check out any Mr. Hero sub shop - the Romanburger and Hot Buttered Cheesesteak are awesome.
Perfect timing for this video as the 2022 inductees were announced today: Pat Benetar, Duran Duran, Eminem, Eurythmics, Dolly Parton (after she declined to accept her nomination, she learned that the Hall of Fame is more than just rock & roll and said she would humbly accept if she got inducted), Lionel Richie, Carly Simon, Harry Belafonte, Elizabeth Cotten, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Judas Priest, Allen Grubman, Jimmy Iovine, and Sylvia Robinson. I am a HUGE fan of Duran Duran and elated they're finally being inducted as they had been snubbed being nominated for years. They also won the fan vote by like 300,000 votes!
Hey! I might have missed if you mentioned this - but by the hot dog was one of the awnings from CBGB - the punk club in NYC where The Ramones, Blondie, etc started!!
"i never at first never knew what exactly an induction was, i always thought you had to wear a condom or something of that kind of thing..." -Steven Tyler on Aerosmith's induction in to the R&R-HOF
That must have been so exhausting to get through all of that museum. You had a lot to cover. The Jerry Garcia artwork reminded me of my 1986-1987 school year in my small town high school in NC where we had to create a full animation with art and music in a program on the MacIntosh Apple computer. Gen Xs don't get as much love but we sure had to do all the groundwork for the tech we enjoy these days. Still thankful I can get the system to do most of my work. :)
4:09 that’s the Clash 14:07 it’s actually referred to as the “Duck Walk” 16:47 , 17:01 , 17:28 , 18:36 those are BASSES 23:16 Frank Beard of ZZ Top is the only member that doesn’t have a beard 33:16 that’s the strap button
Thanks for chuckle as you fumbled to plug in the electric guitar. I prefer a stratocaster myself since they put the plug on the face of the guitar and not on the side. I've only been playing guitars for about 20 years, so I'm still a novice too.
in regards to bo diddley's guitar..my brother and i met him before his show.my brother was talking to him and i came walking up to met him. Bo said, Oh lawd do you mean there are two you? kodak moment
Hiya Jacob! Man I love your videos! I just ordered a couple of your pins from your Etsy shop to pin to my Indiana Beach season pass lanyard. Hope you’re doing well. Barry from IL.
The group of musicians standing on a toilet were none other than The Clash!
Carpetbagger wears crocs and goes where ever he wants, he is my spirit animal
Why do people come on to videos to complain? Thank you for saving us a thousand dollars that it would cost most of us to travel to Cleveland to visit.
arent you complaining about people who complain? 🤔
@@madcatt09 perplexing for sure.

In their hot dog, did they Bounce Around the Room?
Of course it's from Phish. That doesn't make them not suck though.
Forgot to add Big Cypress was also my first show and I saw them roll in on that bad boy!
@@lobesmcgee you've never even seen phish
That was The Clash on the men's room door👍
The hanging cars are Trabants from U2's Achtung Baby tour. They were used on stage as spotlights!
Saw U2 on that tour and it was my very 1st concert, it was awesome! ✌️🙂👍 Public Enemy was the opener!
I saw U2 during the Achtung Baby tour as well. It was the show they broadcast live at the MTV music awards from MI. The guys from Wayne’s World introduced it. My friends swore they saw me waving a black scarf around on tv, which I was. Good times. 😂

Jacob, I am glad that you decided to see the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.
The musicians on the mens toilets are the clash
Great video! Cleveland was looking a little rough in the first two videos, but this one redeemed it...kinda 😅
(BANGING MY HEAD ON MY KEYBOARD ) Chuck Berry did the Duck Walk!
Thank you Jacob! This is on my bucket list!
They say after the apocalypse and all humanity is wiped out only 3 things will survive. Cockroaches, Cher and Keith Richards 😂

Thanks Jacob. There was one VERY whacky advert in this vlog. Guy sat on a car talking to camera. Stunned
Love your videos and Jenn is a good fix for you I'm glad you are happy
Some pretty cool displays with tons of history. Going to look up some of these artists after watching this.

You know when you said you were in Cleveland and didn't post video of Rock and Roll HOF I was very surprised lol but here it is.
When I was there they had a beautilful exhibit with several of Jerry Garcia's guitars with wooden inlays and they all had various designs and images.
