You're going to cherish this video when you miss home. This video brought me so much joy, I just drove this exact route in April after my Step fathers funeral coming from the south coast and stopping over for the night. I miss home. Not to mention the drivers and pedestrians doing what they're supposed to do, the green lushness. People using indicators and safe spaces when at the robot. This is my favorite video 😂 my fave road is coming down from gateway all the way down to the Pearls, with that ocean view, the ships I feel joy and a skip in my heart every time.
I used to drive that road many times coming from Pmburg. Its so lovely to see it has not changed. I am a DURBAN BOY or BEACH BOY. I am very surprised that the ANC government did not change KINGMEADS name. Cloudy weather so Durban, the difference between Thailand is the vichels on the road. It is mad house of motor bikes. Crossing the bridge on the Umgeni river at the Blue Lagoon made my heart jump. I used to go and do fishing there. As you proceed towards Beechwood it is still the same, wow! Another great spot for fishing is Virginia beach behind the airport. On the left hand side many years ago there were no houses, just bush. Thanks guy for the trip down memory lane, gee that was beautiful seeing all my known places again.
@@BeingBedingfield Yes, it does bring back wonderful memories of the best days gone by, reminiscing on the past does not always have the same results, though. Thanks again for your lovely contribution, may the good be your guiding light in the future.
Hello I've been watching your videos. Brings back happy memories, I was down there in the early 90s. I remember going to the London Town Pub and a bar called Shundters. Looks like they aren't there anymore?
Hey ! That’s beautiful to watch and I am also South African from Durban but living in Toyota City in Japan 🇯🇵 and I am so Inlove with your videos guys 😊👏.
Thank you so much for this! I often used to do this drive. I don’t miss it at all, but it was good to see some of my old route to work in Umhlanga! Now I can show some of my new friends what driving was like in parts of Durban 😁
Make as many video memories before you leave because you will miss South Africa when you are gone. I have been living in Cambodia for 7 years and miss my country.
I live in Mt edgecombe, Durban is still great ,yes we have crime but so does many countries. I travelled a lot,but always came back home.Still no WINTER .
I literally almost had an accident on this road back in 2006 on my way to oyster keys in umshlanga. I picked up two friends at the airport, I think it was the old Durban international back then and on route back the roads were very wet from a thunderstorm and I took a slip way, lead into umslanga can't remember as I was on holiday there, and my car skidded when I tried to stop by the stop street. I think I was driving too fast.......
We actually filmed this on our way to somewhere else, and didn’t really plan on posting this. Would be great if you could film some of the other routes and post it, people that have moved away from Durban are really enjoying seeing some of there old routes from back home 🤗
@@BeingBedingfield hi I am in Torbay on Aucklands North Shore. Have another Durban lady I met here when she lived down the Road, Christina and her hubby John Lister

I know…coming down towards the Pearls is one of the best views 😍
Our city always looking good . Never mind all the negative news
We must residents must keep our places clean and have a sense of pride about it
We just love the view of the city when coming through tollgate bridge 🤗 and then the ocean views on the M4 😍

What's Cambodia like? I have such an adventurous but lonely life in Zululand. Seems I'll go over to east Asia to eventually come back.
Now I miss my daughter, we travel a lot on the M4 when we visit.
