- It’s easy as 1, 2, 3! The upcoming Michael Jackson biopic has found it’s Jackson 5. Lionsgate announcing who will play members of the family band on Tuesday. Michael's nephew Jaafar Jackson will take on the titular role with newcomers portraying his brothers. Nia Long and Colman Domingo are playing Michael's parents, Katherine and Joe Jackson.

I hope they make this movie about the real….really showcase his true genius as a multifaceted artist but also show what it was like for him during the years of the allegations. Like make a real film. This movie can either be incredible or mediocre. & hopefully they use Michael’s vocals during the singing parts.

I saw the latest picture of them as Jackson 5 and listen I've never seen anything more uncanny 😮. They honestly did a much better job than the original Jackson 5 movie 🎉

The thing that im concerned is….Michael Jackson had a looong carrier with full of events. From the childhood to Jackson 5, leading to his solo carrier with Rock with you then THRILLER, Bad era, awards and stuff, the other eras…his tours, live performances, tragic events in his life including his Pepsi accident, allegations….his influence. CAN ALL OF THIS BE WRAPPED UP IN A MOVIE???? even if it is 3 hours…i dont think so.

I really hope they add all of MJ’s songs like Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough, Rock With You, Billie Jean, Beat It, Thriller, I Just Can’t Stop Lovin’ You, Bad, Dirty Diana, Smooth Criminal, Man In The Mirror, Speed Demon, Give In To Me, Heal The World, Jam, Black or White, Remember The Time, Ghosts, Blood On The Dance Floor, and You Rock My World, including the ones when he was a member of the J5 when he was a kid like I Want You Back, ABC, The Love You Save, Dance Machine, Got To Be There, Ben, and when he was a teenager and was still a member of The Jacksons like Enjoy Yourself, Blame It On The Boogie, and Shake Your Body Down To The Ground.
Wish and hope that they add the scene where his hair got on fire while he was filming the Pepsi Commercials,

Imagine if the film could get a 3hrs run-time, and/or get split up to part 1, 2, and/or 3, and if it’s good, it deserves a $1B or $2B Box Office.
I also wish that the film could get moved to August 2025 in time for what would’ve been the late legendary King of Pop’s 67th Birthday.

Every actor looks like their real life counterpart, but Colman looks nothing like Joe Jackson. I like Colman, but I would have picked Terrence Howard.

I think Sinbad or Mario Van Peebles would have made a more convincing Joe. Also, Nicki Minaj could pull off a more convincing Katherine. The actors who play the older Jackson boys are convincing enough, but the young Marlon and Michael, not so much. But Jafaar is the star here, the Jackson teeth, high cheek bones - he got it. Just better a good story.

They chose Lawrence Hilton Jacobs to play the first Joe Jackson in American Dream and he was a little darker than Joe. We will have to see how they address him molesting those boys. Omitting it just makes it a propaganda film. It’s unfortunate that it happened but that’s part of the tragic ending to his story. You can’t change history.
