I really appreciate that you cover the American offensives as well. I'd like to see more coverage of these places in general.
Nice to have an American offensive covered. Thanks!
Great stuff Rob! I really need to get my stuff from that day up soon!
Looking forward to seeing it 👍
I will be very excited to watch it.
Thanks again, Rob. I'd love to visit one day. Neither of my grandfathers fought in France during the war. One was blind in one eye, and the other served in the Civilian Conservation Corp, CCC after the war. I have an electronic copy of that grandfather's draft card. He had a medical deferment due to an old neck injury. It's funny how some can go and some can't, and sometimes that makes all the difference to we who come later. God bless, Robert
Have you visited the area of the Battle of Soissons? That's on the A list of my bucket list.
Not yet but I'd like to for sure
Super interesting! Need to get myself there.
You should! A History Underground Meuse Argonne series would be something to look forward to 👍
I second the vote for a History Underground series on the Meuse-Argonne!
Hey Rob, I'm catching up on your videos. Superb video.
It's sad how so many were killed and wounded. 122,000...I know that there are many battles throughout history with many casualties, but it feels staggering to hear that.
It's incredible how well preserved it is too, especially with the fortifications.
I can't imagine how difficult it was for American troops to break through German positions uphill.
I appreciate how you showed the inside of the fortification. I was definitely curious about what the inside of a fortification looks like.
The map you showed is super helpful. No worries about the voiceover :). I'm not sure if I'll be able to climb the steps. I probably could, and I think I would, but I'd probably be tired afterwards lol. It's cool how they listed the different divisions listed on the walls.
The battle damage is so evident throughout the church ruins. While it was sad to see such destruction, it's also amazing how well preserved and maintained the ruins are.
I don't think I'd be able to climb the observation post either haha.
Great summary of the end of the battle and its impact.
Again, wonderful work as always, Rob. Your videos have inspired me to visit battlefields (and I plan to do so the next time I visit Europe). Your videos are excellent virtual tours. I didn't know much about the Meuse Argonne battle, but learned a lot from your video. Have a great rest of the week, Rob!
Thanks Alex. Awesome to hear you've been inspired to visit some battlefields
@@historyinyourhand1787 You're welcome, Rob! Your videos intrigue me and inspire me to learn more and I think it would be great to learn from visiting the battlefields in person. :)
As always mate..👍👍
