@@WhatDoesntkillYa Yes, there was a chance, but after about 3 months it's looking like it's permanent. We were of course hoping for a full recovery, but we're thankful that he's at least able to have a good quality of life even if the head tilt is permanent.
This was adorable to see! Happy to see Hazel moving around so well and having the new little guy might help him get stronger too. I encourage everyone to check out the Amazon wishlist for this wonderful organization because with so many animals to care for and supplies to feed and house them, every little bit would help!
Poor Hazel, everytime I saw his head tilt I started to cry. 😢😢 I'm so relieved to hear he's doing okay. This is one of the most precious, beautiful, endearing bun bun videos. 💖💖💖💖🐇💚💚💚💛💛💛 seeing all those boys bond was so beautiful. 💖🐇💛💚
It was very scary seeing Hazel's head go upside down when you picked him up, but he looks so confident when he's on the floor. I'm glad to hear and see he's doing better.
I feel horrible for Hazel and it's difficult to see him like that, but I am encouraged by his level of activity, and to know that he's eating well, and having sweet cuddle time with Bigwig and baby Apollo. Wishing him wellness!
Apollo is the chillest bunny ever hahaha He is just being displayed back and forth and doesnt bat an eye! Hazel is lovelly, just want to send him a big, big hug! Glad he is doing better, he is such a strong boy! And glad Big Wig is being more comfortable to be presented. You All do great work!
I love that Apollo is getting along with Hazel and Big Wig, hopefully they have an amazing life living together. Apollo is the most adorable rabbit I have seen since, I hope Hazel can get over this hard time of her life and be super healthy!
I'm very glad to hear that little Hazel is doing better and that the rabbits are getting along to well! I think living in harmony within his little group, is the best thing that can happen to a rabbit in his condition. 💚
We have never had rabbits that liked other rabbits. LOL. Just our blind girl - she'd have liked a companion but our lad who we got her for HATED her. So we had two separate rabbits! lol. These guys are gorgeous.
How cute! Love seeing them meeting Apollo. I have seen videos on yt when rabbits meet and they are not good and scary. Your video reassures me my bunnies 1st meeting may be great 🤞
Dear animal wonders, Hi, me and my friends have decided to study avain vet, animal training and ornithology. With this education will we be able to run a organisation like yours? What is your tips? Do you have any advice for us?
That's so exciting to hear! I wish you all the luck in the world. My biggest piece of advice is to know what your goals are and always make sure your actions bring you closer to that goal. It may take time, so celebrate small victories as much as the big ones because every improvement brings you closer to your goal.
I forgot to answer your first question 🙃 I'm a firm believer in experience. So getting these degrees will be really helpful, but nothing compares to hands on experience so make sure you're connecting with other animal facilities for that needed knowledgeable.
@@animalwondersmontana thank you so much for your advice, it was so inspiring to see that even today people are still doing their best to help animals. You were our biggest source of inspiration ❤️ Thanks
She has enough energy for all the people. Surprised the rabbits in shelter have not had heart attacks yet... Skipping the coffee today and just watching AnimalWonders instead. 😵
Bigwig and Hazel, immediately upon seeing Apollo: this is our son now also wow, you can really see why they call that colour "lavender"; Apollo's grey looks so purple!
Maybe, and a lot are. It can takes months of treatment, but the fact is in quite a few rabbits, some degree of head tilt becomes permanent, although usually treatment at least improves the condition so the rabbit can live a pretty good life overall.
I have a question, how do you train the rabbits to be so comfortable being held? I know they don’t prefer it but I’d like my rabbit to be at ease a bit when I hold him.
They're all so small 🥺 I have two mixed breed rabbits, one is mostly a flemish giant, the other is supposedly half netherland dwarf, but she's still bigger than big wig, so I guess I'm just used to big boi bunnies 😄
I'd just like to add that crouching, for rabbits, is in no way the sign of a submission; it's quite the opposite actually. The fact that Appolo demands a grooming from the adults is a typical behaviour of a young bun that wants to know he's in charge ; and Bigwig grooming him is saying "yes you are, darling, here's a lollipop". If they keep it that way it will be great, but I'd wait for a year to pass in order to feel completely safe about these three... Puberty is quite strong with bunnies !
I thought the same thing! Putting you head down low to the ground is usually a demand for grooming. My dominant rabbit Celia will literally push her head underneath my little Clover's face for licks.
@@neophytical my bun is very dominant too, and sometimes she'll push our feet under the table to get groomings... and when she sees that we do not move she scoffs and growls before going away, annoyed af x)
it's ideally between 6 months and 1 year. They can be sexually mature before that age so they have to be kept apart if there's males and females in the same space, but it's good to wait for their complete growth to be complete before doing it.

yeah, i'm impressed. they must be "fixed," because otherwise adult male buns have a tendency not to be so sweet to a submissive littler rabbit
@@turdl38 Even neutered rabbits can be insanely territorial :o

Well this brought tears. Love these little guys. Our bun is a Netherland dwarf as well. He name is Max and he is the best.
I love how as you're holding Apollo, you want to make hand gestures, so he ends up bouncing around in your arms. So cute!
Awwww a new bun! Can't wait to hear about it.

It was a consideration! But Apollo isn't anxious enough to be a Fiver 😆
Pipkin would have been an amazing name (a nod to the 1998 animated series, where he remained a perpetual baby).
I watch your vids at school and I love them.
I love it so much that the Dutch got the smol rabbits and the Flemish got the swol ones. So close and yet such a difference.

Hi Jesse!
i was wondering if there was any way you could surgically "reset" hazels head to sit in the right position (just wondering)
No, it wouldn't work and at best you risk death or paralysis for no benefit
What about Cheeks? Is he alive?
He's still with us. On the most recent visit from our vet she said, "Well he's looking old.", and he is old, but he's doing well for an old guy ❤
Will Hazel ever be completely healed again?
Thank you very much for this beautiful and informative video!

I can't help but be fascinated by Apollo's fur color. What is that patterning and coloring called?
I have seen it repeatedly with my mischief. babies introduced to an aging group often seems to rejuvenate even the seniors.
