Hai mumbo, A classmate and i, had a project from our university to film some interviews. Thanks to you we had got an A+, because we used the Lightstrips that you showed in your lights video our videos looked a lot better.
Hearing someone talk about things that excite them - things that they're passionate about - lets you share in those feelings. I may no next to nothing about cameras, filming, and cars, but your passion for them made me thoroughly enjoy this. So, thanks Mumbo. Edit: Best of luck trending on youtube; your second channel seldom shows up in my recommended videos.
Mumbo should be a director in my opinion. Here is why... he usually knows what a satisfying scene is. His way of using the camera and handling lighting makes the scene awesome. (This is just my opinion)
Mumbo, it's a lovely truck, but after all you've been through PLEASE invest in some serious security including trackers (plural) (if you haven't already) as you don't want to lose it. They are magnets for ne'er do wells to steal/joyride. A big ground anchor for overnight parking is also recommended.
It is logic, he told us long time ago (unsponsered) that he listens to audio books when playing MC and other things, so he might as well get paid for it !
Neeharika Pal Audible is one of the easiest companies to partner with as a creator. This is also why tons of podcasts work with them too. I think you literally just need to have 3 examples of whatever you’re doing to partner with them, and not be super offensive.
I don't know why but it makes me smile hearing you telling your story about filming, how you enjoy every fun and struggle in it. Man good job with your filming stuff.
Behind the scenes or even these sorta gear logistical type videos are actually my favorite. As a film nerd seeing a neat film is always cool, but any real film nerd reacts with "oh how was that done?" and these videos answer that question beautifully.
Congrats on the new filming / logistics vehicle! :) Your solutions are brilliantly resourceful! I'm amazed at your ingenuity. Thanks for the update. keep up the great works! :)
Hey Mumbo, quick thing. As a lover of Land Rovers myself I used the elastic cord all the time for strapping down, but those metal hooks are deadly. I had one under tension straighten and ping off, stabbing me in the arm! Terrifying! I would definitely recommend a product called SlideTite. They are nylon hooks and use a really quick and easy pull back system it's amazing and they come in all sorts of types, hooks, mounting plates, wrap around binders. Big recommendation!
i recently bought a Grian mount that sticks to the bottom of my Caravan trailer and it works perfectly, if you buy it used you may hear some slight screaming from the Grian mount, but that's nothing to worry about, works perfectly the way it should and has an automatic camera tracker that has as a whopping lifetime hours of battery life.
I came here because I’ve found a new interest for Minecraft, specially for redstone and I really like your videos. And you know? I’ve never been very interested in filming, but the way you do it and talk about it has made me appreciate and enjoy watching it, specially when it’s about cars. I’m Mexican and I really like the elegant British car culture (I hope I wrote it correctly) Keep up the good work and nice filming gear by the way
I drove a five-door Defender similar to yours alot during my military service. I absolutely hated the way it was built for left hand drive. The pedals were all crammed closer to the center of the car which made the seating position angled and hard on the lower back. The clutch pedal was solid as a brick and required alot of will to operate. But once you got it going and got over the painful pedal position, it was like driving a cloud. So smooth and soft. I kind of want one.
OK, so I haven't been following your second-channel stuff, but I'm kinda excited about this because for ONCE it's a vehicle that I know something about! My Dad's owned various landrovers over the years, including at least two Defenders, and I've actually helped him recently in putting his latest one together. So yeah! Kinda cool!
This thing is amazing. Not only is your new camera car utterly kitted out, the tools inside are incredibly useful, like the PS4 controller which would definitely make the B-roll and panning shots so much better. The mounting plate on the tire is ingenious. The color and the lifted black wheels go together really well. I would look into detailing the car, and then putting a ceramic coat on it to help protect the beautiful shine, since I'd like to see that olive color last even if you're using it for road use. Just hose it down with some water every now and then and you'll have a forever shine. All in all, I think you picked the right car. You'd even take on a zombie apocalypse, I think. It's the perfect space for rations and sleeping space. But in the meantime, camera equipment will suffice. Did you know that Top Gear used Range Rovers as camera cars? The 2-part tailgate made it easier to drop the gimbaled camera and hold it out the back of the trunk. You can see it in the Race to the Sunrise where they filmed the Jaguar XJS.
So glad the new car to car tracking/mount is so much easier, safer, and legal :) Really cool to see you pursue your filming passion too (I like your red stone/gaming stuff as well)
I love these tec updates because theyre so interesting even though i have no intrest in filming cars . Its also like a og top gear filming bspin off if the filmers showed what they did
Sweet setup Mumbo! I would love to find a Land Rover Defender, but they are about impossible to find in the USA. Great no-nonsense trucks that will do whatever you ask of thrm
You could probably have the clutch fixed to be a little lighter if you wanted. I have a pickup with a clutch that I had to replace recently. It totally changed the way the clutch felt, from having to push it through the floor, to barely touching it to shift.

Jeez, that video is so relatable regarding the defender. I love my defenders, We own one. Also I love the setup you guys have, it is so cool! Can't wait to see the newest video coming out, it looks great and I really want to get into filming, maybe you should make a video giving tips and tricks on different techniques and different ways you can go about getting into video. I don't know, I love this channel and the fact your British makes it all the better :D (Even though I am Scottish haha)

That setup using the spare tire mount is BRILLIANT.

Why is literally every single channel I follow being sponsored by Audible?? (Love Mumbo.)
It is logic, he told us long time ago (unsponsered) that he listens to audio books when playing MC and other things, so he might as well get paid for it !
Audible watch film theory ad found out how profitable it is i guess (btw do not watch it or game theory much at all its pure filler and cancer)

Land Rover Defenders are one of the most reliable cars. And to make it into a camera car is genius.

Defenders are awesome. Aside from their appearance, mechanically, they're near indestructible. 😎
I really liked the still photos you took of the car. They almost seem like as if they were taken on film.
