I made this song like a year ago with the help of the very talented Nahu Pyrope, and can now show it off to you! I had so much fun with this song and I hope that it shows.

This now hits a totally different level after season 4. Like it worked really well for season 1-3, but now works *too* well.

She’s lost basically EVERYTHING, her friends, her only loyal best friends, her power reign as 2nd Command or really Lord Catra reign of the Horde army of Etheria itself in utter shambles by the end of Season 4. And pretty much most of the important horde soldiers defect to the rebellion at this point.
But hopefully she’ll get her redemption arc in the final season by with possible help with Glimmer to help her see see how’s it from Adora POV is. Or the series could end in a tragedy and Catra attempt to make a final sacrifice of herself to stop Horde Prime in order to rThough I am probably reading almost too deep into this cartoon.

I love the lyrics ❤ it describes perfectly how Catra always felt around Adora and how she had to be pushed aside because Adora was seen as the best. When Adora became She-Ra she took the opportunity of her being gone and realised that she could become the best because she had many abilities and potential too. But despite that she was mad at Adora for leaving without her and betraying the dreams that they had together before she learned the truth about the princesses :(
That day, she was amazed to discover that when she was saying "Hey, Adora", what she meant was, "I love you, I always have." And even more amazing was the day she realized, "I love you too."

As a Weawer i love this song
I first listened to this back when it was first published, and I loved the vicious vengeance it captured. Coming back to it after the series finale, and there's a completely different feel to it. Spoilers below:
This feels so much more tragic now. The show really does approace how such a vengeful attitude breaks a person. Season 4 Catra just... falls apart. It's hard to watch, and we see how recovering from going to such a dark place is almost just as painful in season 5. After season 3, this sounds like Catra at her most badass; After season 5, it sounds like Catra at her most self-destructive. Still an effing awesome song, but knowing how things turn out changes the vibe to something FAR darker and more tragic, I think. This song was cool as a badass villain anthem, but I think it's even better as a demonstration of brokenness for a character who's about to completely fall apart.

Despite most of catras damage being self inflicted she really didnt deserve it. Abandonment, desire to be valued, and no one listening to her. Her violence and hatred of the princesses in her mind is warranted in her mind. But that's what makes great villains, villains who believe their actions are warranted are so much better even if they're only some sub level bossfight. I think I might just use her circumstances for a D&D campaign sometime.
I don't even think catra believes she's justified, I honestly don't think she cares. She never cared about the horde being messed up, because she had adora. Ya know?
Exactly that’s why she put up with everything Shadow Weaver did to her but then adora left for some people she met 2 hours ago
Ok, fine by now I have seen enough people praising she-ra that it looks like I have to eventually get around to watch it.
Its all in the characters + bonus points for their being D&D episode lol
You will not regret watching it til the end. Trust me, at first I felt a bit meh but as I kept watching I got more and more hooked in. It felt like I was watching a crossover between a AU He-man as a female and D&D. It was awesome.

I finally binge watch the whole serie in the last few weeks (partly because of this song). And I must say, wow. I did not expect to fine so many interesting and well written characters, or even how dark the show became by the end. By the end, Catra deserved to be loved. Such an amazing character growth.

This rings so much more differently now we have S5. Poor resentful, abandoned Catra. The hunt ended in the best way.
I know it's probably impossible at this point, but I am extremely hope there is a small turn around for Catra.

Noelle herself said "catra needs to get way worse before she gets better" she was literally at her lowest point in season four. So I am absolutely sure she finally gets redeemed. High Council Catra’s redemption was not as well paced as I thought after rewatching the series and another season with Perfuma as her therapist now.

I was feeling a pretty hard emotional low. Decided to look up something for a broken Catra to visualize the way I felt. Decided to try this among the desert of search results, and it blew me away! This was my first exposure to Comi-Cat. I see there's plenty more for me to experience, so I hope they can reach similar standards as this. Very good!

I never wanted to watch She-ra (depressing shows make me depressed) but this song is so good at establishing Catra's struggles that I'm really invested now!
I first thought from this song that Catra is a really morally grey antihero, and Adora is a villain. It's kinda funny -- I thought that Catra started doing wild shit to help Adora, got thrown out of the army for it (Adora turned on her for career success -- 'other two' are some higherups) and after joining rebellion for some other reason, Adora got pitted against her by higher-ups
Kinda funny how without conext you can read this song in completely different but also interesting way. Though hero not being this messed up is probably less depressing
She Ra isn’t depressing at all, it’s very lighthearted. The OG is much darker.
