The term "Butt" comes from Boston Butt which this is also called. They use to ship the pork shoulder out of Boston in containers called Butts.....hence Boston Butt. Nice job on the cook....done something very similar but use a small amount of liquid smoke as well to give it a smokey flavor.
OMG this is so helpful to know!! Thanks Scott!! :) I've always wondered why it was called both a pork shoulder and butt LOL. That liquid smoke sounds like an amazing idea!!!
Thank you Marcelle!! 🥰 aw man, I'll show the finished meat next time!! Good idea! And we don't brown it when it's done... But we do like to saute it in the pan again right before eating to make it nice and crispy 😍!
Nice video, but the best part of any cooking video is to be able to see the finished product. Unfortunately, it looks like there's supposed to be a "part 2" to the video that I couldn't find. Major disappointment!!
USDA recommends you actually don’t wash your meat! Washing doesn’t actually get rid of any bacteria, but just spreads it all over your sink. Proper food storage will prevent spoilage and cooking will kill all the pathogens that could make you sick
michael looks strictly missionary
🤣🤣🤣 More like strictly dickly.
Didn't show the end results 😕 hope it came out good !

Y
Nope, the butt is the thicker part of the shoulder
Hey, my crock also looks like from the 1970's!!! Things were made bullet proof back then!!!
This is super easy and delicious. I wish you would have shown us the finished roast. Do you brown it at all?

@@sugarfreeselfcare Thank you, and buon apetit 😋 Stay safe 😘
Where did you get that badass crock pot???😯
Thanks!! It belonged to my fiance's parents LOL. I think it's probably from the 80's ahahahah
Wasted my time watching and never seen the results. Couldn't give you a thumbs up.
Great job, chef Michael.....crockpots never go out of style...I remember the crockpot of the 70’s...everything was avocado green and orange lol!
Thank you so much Andrea!!! Yes Chef Michael is a great chef!! 🥰 Ahaha crock pots are in again!! 😂😂
You guys are a cute couple!!! Thanks!!
You made a video of you putting salt and pepper on a piece of meat.
Exactly! That's how easy cooking pork can be. 😉
Save yourself some time. Fit as much as you can in the crock pot. Salt. Pepper. Cook on low for 9 hours.
Pull up Gordon Ramsey's ultimate pulled pork video and atbthe very beginning he explains why it's called a shoulder butt.
Looks delicious, new sub
Thank you so much!! :)
Butt means the thicker end of something. The shoulder has 2 parts, the shoulder and the butt. I believe the butt part is the top part of the shoulder.
No broth in the slow cooker? Just the meat? Thanks.
Yes! Just the meat only :) There are many recipes out there that use broth, but we like to keep our cooking as simple as possible!
Y’all are cute. Enjoyed the video.
Greetings from Dallas, Texas. 🙋♂️
Lol thank you Clyde!!! 😍 Awesome that you're in Texas!! Hello from California!! 🥰
Who's the doll?
If I had a g/f like that, I'd pack my bags fast. There's something odd about the g/f. Run! run! and run fast before it gets problematic.
I agree. She's dangerous! 😉 Not for the faint of heart.

So true!! I apologize for not putting the finished product at the end. Will remember to include this in my future videos!
Why wouldn’t you unwrap it in the sink 🤷🏼♂️💁🏻♂️🙆🏻♂️
Do you wash your meat? I seen you dry it but didn't see you wash it😐
I don't wash it!

Eww
You guys seem very nice butt I didn’t get very much new and interesting information sorry butt good luck thanks ❤
The bone where all the flavor is at
No bbq rub or other seasonings
Feel free to add any seasoning you like! I just like to keep my cooking super simple because I'm a very lazy cook hahahha!
I was looking for a recipe for rutabaga, onion and pork
