Hiromi Uehara outshines all the classical composers. Nobody else can present such a broad spectrum of music. The most surprisings things are the phase changes, just as in Quantum Physics. You never know, what comes next but you know the direction of her playing. I just love that rebellious dreaming. Hiromi is a postmodern woman and powerful with a message. Just listen to Mr.CC and you see all the pictures in front of you ! But I know very well, that Hiromi only achieved this level as an artist, because she learned from the great masters ! She reawakens them again with new fire and a new spirit ! CONGRATULATION !!!

We all stand on the shoulders of our predecessors, outshining the classical composers is simply a part of progressing forward, but I don’t think it’s necessary to try and compare her to them. Without those great historical composers we wouldn’t be where we are now, always, hopefully, furthering music.

She went to jazz as there is more freedom of expression/room to breathe your own self into things. She can play all the difficult Chopin & Listz & Rachmaninoff etudes etc. like they're chopsticks. I wish I would ever be able to play like this, but much more than that, I wish I could simply enjoy playing the piano as much as she does. That would make my life a lot more complete. :)

The audio quality is bad, and doesn’t serve the music well. HOWEVER, it reminds me of early 2000’s audio, which, to my ear, sounds great for piano and jazz. So, in THAT way, the audio quality is nostalgic and fits the whole “Tom & Jerry” vibe quite nicely.

I love Hiromi, shes mentioned Oscar as one of her big inspirations indeed. Shes inspired by anyone who radiates energy.
There are many thousands of asian pianists, but Hiromi is different somehow. Shes not the usual player, shes very interesting to watch/listen.
